00:03The oven light should turn on when the unit is powered and you open the door

00:08or when you press the light button briefly during a cooking cycle.

00:12If it doesn't respond at all, here's how to check what's going on.

00:15Step 1. Confirm the basics.

00:18Open the door with the oven powered on.

00:20If the light doesn't activate, try pressing the light button during bake or roast.

00:24The light won't turn on if the oven is in full standby.

00:27Step 2. Rule out a door sensor issue.

00:30If the light never comes on with the door open but the oven cooks normally,

00:34the door sensor may not be engaging.

00:36Close the door firmly, reseat the rack fully past the auto-eject notches, and try again.

00:41Step 3. Clean around the seal and hinge.

00:44Grease and crumbs can block the sensor area.

00:47With the oven unplugged and cool, wipe the door seal and hinge with a lint-free microfiber cloth.
