00:00Cooling fan running after your Breville oven is done?
00:03Fix it fast.
00:04This is normal.
00:05The fan runs after cooking to cool the electronics and extend the life of the oven.
00:10But here's how to know when it's working as intended and when it points to a problem.
00:14Step 1.
00:15Know the normal cycle.
00:17After most high heat functions like bake, roast, air fry, and broil,
00:21the cooling fan stays on for several minutes.
00:23It automatically shuts off once the internal temperature drops.
00:27Step 2.
00:28Listen for the right sound.
00:30A smooth, steady fan noise is normal.
00:33Loud rattling, scraping, or vibration means debris or a failing motor, not just cooling.
00:38Step 3.
00:39Keep the oven clear for airflow.
00:41Leave about 4 inches of clearance on the sides, 2 inches at the rear, and 6 inches above.
00:46Blocked vents keep the fan running longer and louder.
00:49Step 4.
00:50Clean the vent area.
00:51With the oven unplugged and cool, wipe dust and grease from the exterior vent slots using a lint-free microfiber cloth.
00:57Apply cleaner to the cloth, never into the vents.
01:01Step 5.
01:02When it's a fault.
01:03If the fan runs endlessly hours later, never comes on after high heat cooking or makes grinding noises, that's an internal issue.
