00:00Food burning on one side in your Breville oven? Fix it fast. Here's how to stop the hot side and
00:04get even browning. Step 1. Middle rack, convection on. Use the center rack position for even baking.
00:11Press the convection button to cycle off. Convection, super convection. Choose convection
00:16or super convection for your function, then press start. Keep the pan away from the rear fan cover
00:21so air can move. Step 2. Use the right pan. Pick a light colored, heavy gauge 9 by 13 inch quarter
00:28sheet pan. Dark non-stick or warped pans brown faster on the contact side and cause edge scorching.
00:35I've linked a light colored quarter sheet that fits this oven. Step 3. Rotate and swap if using two
00:40racks. Turn on, rotate, remind, and rotate the pan 180 degrees when it beeps. Using two racks, rotate each
00:47pan and swap up or lower at the halfway point. Step 4. Preheat behavior and door use. The display shows
00:54preheating and the oven beeps early, around 75% of target, to prompt you to load food. It then finishes
01:00climbing to temperature. Load promptly and avoid opening the door. Opening pauses the timer and
01:05heaters, and if left open, about 10 minutes the heaters shut off. Step 5. Don't trap heat. Add clearance.
01:13Do not cover the crumb tray or any surface with foil. Leave about 4 inches of clearance on both sides and 6
01:18inches above the oven so heat and air can move. Don't push pans against the rear fan cover.
01:24Step 6. Clean safely to remove hot spots. Unplug and cool the oven. Slide out the crumb tray and clear
01:31debris from the vent slots only. Do not touch the quartz heating elements or the fan blades.
01:36Apply cleaner to a lint-free cloth, not into the oven. If one side burning continues after these
01:41checks, there may be an internal control or sensor issue. Use the Breville Product Hub link in the
01:46description before your next cook. If this evened out your cooking, subscribe to No Filler Fixes for more
01:52fast appliance help. And if you need a light-colored 9 by 13 inch quarter sheet pan, I've linked the one
01:57I use below. The heavy gauge aluminum spreads heat so edges don't scorch.
02:02Thanks for watching and brown evenly, not brutally.
