00:03Americans are entering 2026 with rising financial stress even after a strong year for markets,
00:09according to a recent Allianz Life survey. The survey found 48% of Americans feel more
00:15stress than a year ago, up 5% year over year. Respondents cited higher everyday costs,
00:22stagnant income, limited emergency savings, rising debt, healthcare expenses,
00:27and job security concerns. Retirement confidence has declined, with 27% reporting less confidence
00:34in meeting retirement goals and more than 20% saying they are further from retirement than last
00:39year. Gen X and Gen Z reported the most discouragement. Job anxiety is also rising,
00:46with 56% planning to look for new work next year while many others plan to stay put for stability.
