00:08The survey found that 83% of Americans view the program favorably,
00:13and more than 80% expect it to provide part of their retirement income.
00:17At the same time, 70% expect benefits to be cut,
00:20and nearly one-third believe the program will not exist when they retire.
00:23Many respondents misunderstand how social security works,
00:26including its pay-as-you-go structure and benefit calculations.
00:30The poll also found that 51% are not saving for retirement,
00:34even though most still expect social security to play a major role,
00:38creating planning challenges and opportunities for financial advisors.
