00:00I love you.
00:30Most I've seen in my 65 years for Wayne County, North Carolina, I've seen more overseas, but
00:53for Wayne County this is a pretty big event.
00:57In regards to preparing, we made sure we had enough food for the last three or four days,
01:01gas grill, have a generator, everything's set ready to go, but so far thankfully we've
01:08not had to use any of it.
01:10It really hasn't disrupted it that much.
01:12We are able to do what we want to do when we want to do it, and so we're able to kind
01:17of come and go.
01:18So it makes it a little bit easier for me.
01:20For some people I know it is disruptive, but we have an excellent first responder program
01:26here, so if anybody needs any help, they can certainly get it.
01:33Yeah, we were very prepared.
01:36We made sure we had plenty of extra things and plenty of food in case we get snowed in
01:41for a few days, and thankfully they weren't expecting any power outages, but we've got
01:46our gas logs if we need them, so yeah, we're very prepared.
01:49Yesterday, we had the kind of snowstorm that we don't get very often in North Carolina.
01:54We had 16 inches of snow in Lexington, 15 inches in Ocean Isle.
02:00All 100 counties experience snow, much of it in the east.
02:04So wherever you're watching this today, I hope you're warm and safe, and I hope that
02:07your kids and grandkids are outside playing.
02:11For your own safety, and for the safety of the people clearing the roads, please stay
02:15at home if you possibly can.
02:19This is no joke.
02:20This weekend we saw more than 1,000 collisions, including two fatalities, and a major traffic
02:26jam involving more than 100 vehicles on I-85.
02:30DOT has 2,500 people out working overtime to try to clear as much snow today as they can.
02:37But our fear is that with temperatures staying below freezing today and much of tomorrow,
02:42many roads will be bad in many places across the state for days to come.
