14:24been out here for 27 years wow there was a guy moved out here before the filming came out really
14:29yeah we obviously know erin brokovich from the movie but we were connected to her through
14:38the calabasas moms that actually just knocked on her door and asked her for help
14:44i went and did like protesting with the moms yeah it's always yeah the mom oh yeah i'm with the
14:53mom totally hey hi oh hi how are you i'm good how are you it's nice to meet you i'm erin it's a
15:02pleasure my bar exam is 10 days away but of course my community means so much to me good erin brought
15:09us her book i did my superman's not coming the possibility that all of the debris from the
15:17palisades and malibu fires is coming here to our landfill in calabasas and we're not prepared for
15:22this toxic waste is a huge concerning issue so no one better to talk about it with than erin brokovich
15:30after 30 years yeah i i have seen and i have figured out no one's coming to rescue us it yeah it
15:37happens we have to do it ourselves yeah and we were talking about the moms yeah the moms it will
15:42begin with them yeah i always say if you want to get something done ask a mom moms will always figure
15:47it out we will make anything happen if we need to get something done for our kids i think the thing
15:53moms care about the most is saving their kids well they're concerned about their health and safety
15:58for sure i mean during the 60s and 70s this landfill was a liquid hazardous waste dump oh wow
16:06and they have basins up there with 500 year liners on them your mayor got a report on this landfill
16:17so that report tells us the landfill is leaking there's a breach somewhere in the liner the fact
16:27that there's a leak in the liner is exactly what all of the moms were feeling and their instincts were
16:36telling them this is not right i'm like a what's the next step so i would really like a confirmed
16:43answer about the toxic debris that they're not testing and somebody needs to look at it further
16:51before you continue to allow the debris in all of these chemicals in the debris are most likely toxic
17:00and should be tested so how would you go about that it is about the power of you working with your
17:07local government on issues in your own backyard this takes me back to my work in hinckley i had state
17:16agencies that got those first high readings but yet they weren't reported this has honestly been the
17:22saddest thing in my life this is why nobody invites me to parties because it's always a bearer of bad
17:26news about what's really going on well we'll invite you to party you are invited to our kardashian

28:04honored i do want to talk about all of your business ventures that you have and what a smart woman you are
28:10the one thing i have not done yet is a line of wigs and it's the most obvious thing ever and it's the
28:16thing that i thought would be so successful for me like you want to start a wig line my mom will do
28:23that for you in two seconds girl call me i got you we know how to put a brand together let's do this dolly
28:31as you know my 40th birthday i did chloe wood
28:35in honor of dolly wood uh no i got all the pictures everybody was showing me what you were
28:45doing i was so so honored and so so flattered and just thought it was just great for dolly
28:50to say how much she loved the party and how fun it looked and all of that i'm like girl thank god
28:56you weren't there because i was so drunk i could not be drunk around dolly like that's crazy so
29:02it all works out for the best you've always walked this incredible line you're so deeply spiritual
29:07but you're also so grounded and obviously wickedly funny and larger than life whether it be the
29:13rhinestones or the makeup or the chest or the hair whatever was that always something intentional i'm a
29:21little nervous i always feel like i'm saying the wrong thing so i got in my head a little bit
29:32my look came from a country girl's idea of glam we didn't have anything oh and i wasn't a natural
29:42beauty like some of you girls are this is a natural either well you know it's like i want to be pretty
29:48more anything i got my look actually from the fredericks of hollywood catalog that one of my aunts
29:54had and had to keep under the mattress like you'd keep a playboy magazine that's why i believe
29:59you everybody should dress and you know according to how they feel well that's a beautiful thing and
30:04a beautiful lesson for me i adore dolly for so many reasons but my favorite reason is that dolly always
30:12did what dolly wanted to do she wanted to look a certain way and dress a certain way and wear a
30:17certain amount of makeup and hair she never apologized for it and doesn't make any excuses about it i mean
30:22i've been poked and prodded at and not all the time have i stuck to my guns and be like well i just
30:28want to do what i want to do i've had to learn the hard way sometimes but for dolly to always
30:36do what makes her happy and look the way that makes her feel happy i mean look where it's let her it's
30:41led her to a very long beautiful blessed career how do you practice self-love or self-compassion when
30:49you're off stage oh i just i like myself better anybody you know because i'm comfortable with me
30:56i'm comfortable with who i am and with my connection we've got you know i don't i'm not one of those
31:01people that has to have somebody around me all the time in fact i don't like it i mean i have to be out
31:07in the public but i am such a private person and my husband was as well and that was the thing with us
31:13you know we we were so good for each other because he's a total owner but we could just be in the house
31:19all day and say two or three words didn't matter or we could talk all afternoon but i really think
31:25there's just certain personalities that are great for each other and we were together 61 years but he
31:32was a loner he did not want a bunch of people around him he never did an interview in his life
31:38in fact he'd be out mowing the yard on the tractor and the fans would come by to see our house and then
31:43he'd say are you dolly parton's husband he'd say do i look like i'd be dolly parton's husband and we
31:50just got along great dolly's husband passed away about two months ago and i was asked to not bring
31:58up her husband and of course i would never it's not my place i'm very respectful of that but when
32:04dolly starts speaking of her husband i am so honored when people do open up to me and this is that moment
32:12i feel really honored that she's choosing to share this story with me thank you so much for
32:19letting me invade your space this has been a dream of mine and i'm just so thankful and grateful well
32:24let me say thank you for doing this and thank you for being a fan this has been so surreal and almost
32:30dreamlike i mean dolly is everything that i have hoped and imagined that she would be all right looking
32:37right here one two they do say don't meet your idols which i actually do agree with that statement
32:44but in dolly's case she's the best and meet her love her because she's worth every ounce of love she's
32:53perfect but there's still one more thing i need to bring you some flowers well you sure did

33:36dad oh i didn't know him but i mean i had met him through some in la okay i lived there for a long
33:42time we had seen him a time or two because when we started watching your show is when i remembered
33:48something that i find so so cool well not this part but this is weird um my dad has been dead for
33:58that's what i was gonna say but the first sentence something that i find so cool hold on
34:04my my dad has been gone for about 22 years and when i find people that have stories about my dad
34:16that i've never heard before i find that to be so special and i cherish them and hold on to them
34:22little things like that they're little gems that i will treasure forever and it might be a nothing
34:27story to someone like dolly but it is the most special story to me thank you this has been such
34:34such a pleasure and honor the last 24 hours in nashville have literally been a dream 40 has been
