00:00This is my ultimate episode ever.
00:04Do they say ever at the end? Probably.
00:15And the first prize category for our fledgling competitors is
00:18the thing that most people would like to touch.
00:22I'm gonna start with old James there.
00:25Hello.
00:26What did you bring in that you think I'd like to touch?
00:28Marty Hammer.
00:34By the way, I'm the first person to answer that as well.
00:39That should have just been, okay, you've won Taskmaster,
00:44let's stop it there.
00:46It's the first task of the entire series,
00:49the first person to answer the task.
00:52I don't know how...
00:54I know that I don't win this and I don't think it's fair
00:57because it's the best answer.
01:00The audience have spoken there with the applause.
01:02He released a song called Can't Touch This.
01:06Oh, Can't Touch This.
01:07And that made a lot of people want to touch it.
01:11We haven't got the actual MC himself,
01:13we've got a representation of the MC.
01:15Okay, so here's an example of the production screwing you over,
01:19mainly Alex.
01:21I find out in real time, this is me finding out at the same time as everyone else,
01:25that actually my prize task is a cardboard cutout of MC Hammer,
01:29which I know now, as soon as that was said by Alex,
01:34I was like, this is going to not go well for me.
01:37If you saw that on the street, you'd think it was him?
01:39Oh God, you would, yeah.
01:40Especially if he was one-dimensional and stayed absolutely perfectly straight.
01:43One-dimensional, what are you on about?
01:44Can I say, I think he's two-dimensional.
01:46Yeah, he is two-dimensional.
01:47Yeah, there you go.
01:48There you go, always good to have Alex there.
01:50It was too early in the series for me to pick Greg up on anything there.
01:54It's like the first task.
01:56I'm not going to immediately say to him,
01:58what are you talking about one-dimensional?
01:59You used to be a teacher.
02:00And how are you going to judge this entire series
02:02if you think things are one-dimensional, you idiot?
02:05But Alex did that for me, so that's good.
02:07I went to the trouble of knocking up a replica
02:15of your childhood teddy bear, whose name was?
02:18BT, Blue Ted.
02:20BT, Blue Ted.
02:21And I know how much you enjoy touching.
02:27I think when contestants know Greg and are friends of Greg,
02:30this could go either way for them.
02:32This could be like that, you know, because he's a teacher as well.
02:34He's a teacher as well.
02:35It's like if a teacher has, like, one of their own children in the class
02:39and they're like, they might favour them,
02:42but they might also punish that kid even more
02:44because everyone thinks that.
02:46So you're like, it could go either way.
02:47And Rod's a naughty boy and cheeky to Greg
02:50and bringing in like a bear that apparently Greg, I think,
02:53used to try and have intercourse with or something.
02:55It was like something like that.
02:57Like, I don't think it's like necessarily getting yourself straight
03:00in the good books.
03:01So at that point, I wasn't sure what way it was going to go there.
03:06I knew that, you know, the two of them would have a lot more
03:10to talk about than the rest of us when it comes to stuff
03:13and that maybe EPA would have win them over.
03:15But no, at this point, I didn't think it was going to be as biased
03:19as it turned out to be.
03:21And it was a real shame the way that it went throughout the series.
03:25In joint seconds to last place, with two points each,
03:31I'm going to put Kerry, because I despise women.
03:40In joint seconds to last, I'm going to put it with James' MC Hammer
03:43because I don't want to touch MC Hammer
03:46or a cardboard cutout of MC Hammer.
03:48Two. What a crock of bullsh...
03:51Like, who won?
03:55That is solid.
03:57And in first place, inexplicably,
04:00because I don't know why I want to touch that toy,
04:02it's Phil Wang!
04:06Who do you must like to touch MC Hammer?
04:09I don't...
04:11I can't get my head around how that's not...
04:14five points.
04:16That's a shame, but, you know,
04:17I wrote all of my prize tasks
04:20on the same train journey.
04:22So...
04:24I guess that's what happens.
04:25Don't really think them through.
04:27I tried to just write the first thing that came into my head
04:29for each one of them and then text it back to Andy C.
04:33And...
04:35I guess a lot of the time I've forgotten what they were
04:38when the thing would come up and then they'd say to you,
04:40what have you chosen?
04:41But MC Hammer I knew and I was very happy to be,
04:44and I was also very happy just comedically
04:48for Greg to set it up the way he did by saying,
04:50what have you brought in that I'd most like to touch?
04:52He knew what he was doing there.
04:53He knew that it would mean that the pledge slide would pay off
04:56and I do appreciate that.
04:57So, as much as I'm going to bash Greg throughout this
05:01and criticize him,
05:03he is sometimes in your corner,
05:05at least when it comes to comedy.
05:07I think...
05:08I remember being in the wings just before going on
05:10and being very excited.
05:11I mean, I'd watched every single episode.
05:13I was a mega fan.
05:16I don't remember how much everyone else had watched,
05:19but we were all excited to do it.
05:21We pretty much all knew each other as well beforehand.
05:24I don't think...
05:26Because Jess has done so much more acting
05:28and scripted comedy than the rest of us,
05:31so we maybe didn't know Jess as well,
05:34but got on with Jess really quickly.
05:37That was like...
05:38So we all gelled really fast.
05:39I knew Kerry and Phil really well
05:41and obviously Rod was like the godfather.
05:45So we were all quite excited that Rod was there.
05:48But yeah, I think we felt like we had quite a good...
05:52a good little gang who were like taking it just seriously enough,
05:56but also, you know, not seriously at all at the same time.
06:00So like quite a chaotic bunch.
06:02And I think before we stepped out there for the first episode,
06:04we all knew Kerry was going to win.
06:08It would have been ridiculous if she didn't.
06:09It would have been ridiculous if she didn't.
06:16Oh.
06:20Just fitting, actually.
06:21Hello, James. I'm Geoff.
06:23Hello, Geoff.
06:24Hi.
06:25Hello, Phil. I'm Geoff.
06:26Hi, Geoff.
06:27Phil, good to meet you. How are you?
06:29I'm Geoff.
06:30Yep.
06:31You're Geoff.
06:32Exactly.
06:33Sometimes people call me Geoff as a joke.
06:34No offence.
06:35It's funny because I'm a girl.
06:37Yes, I noticed.
06:39Yeah, so just instantly, Geoff getting across who he is.
06:43I mean, he really played his role well here.
06:46At this point, we don't know what the task is.
06:48Every task, I was excited.
06:50You know, this is the dressing room where we would sit and wait,
06:53and they'd come and get you, and you'd get really...
06:55I couldn't wait to do the next task every single day.
06:57And obviously, all you're thinking is, I hope it's a good one.
07:02And going into the caravan and seeing a man who you have not seen yet,
07:08just sitting there, was brilliant.
07:11I was like, whatever this is, I can't wait.
07:14I'm really happy to meet this bloke, and whatever the task was.
07:20Also, I wasn't told at the time.
07:23I was only told afterwards that he was the father-in-law
07:28of one of the main producers of the show.
07:32But we weren't told that.
07:33It probably was best that we weren't told that beforehand,
07:35because I think we then would have factored that in.
07:38And, like, you know, probably been naughtier than we were.
07:42I think we were all on pretty good behaviour with this guy.
07:44Cheer up this former traffic warden.
07:47You have 20 minutes.
07:49The time starts now.
07:51Why do you need cheering up?
07:53I have a view on the world at the moment, generally,
07:57which is not particularly good.
08:02Jess's face, hearing that, absolutely gutted.
08:07I have a view on the world at the moment, which is not particularly good.
08:12Just really selected his words there.
08:15Clearly, you thought there were so many dark things.
08:18You know, if you ask me now why I need cheering up, and I've got to do it in a sound bite on a TV show, I'm going to answer it the same way.
08:25Because I'm only thinking, you know, don't talk about reform and AI and Trump and everything in the world.
08:34You know, don't talk about all that.
08:37Just say I have a view on the world at the minute, which is not very good.
08:40Let's do a roleplay.
08:43What's your name?
08:44Jeff.
08:45Thank you, Jeff.
08:46Can I buy you a holiday?
08:47Where would you like to go?
08:49Tenerife.
08:50Okay, hold on a second.
08:51I'm really happy with my response here.
08:54I saw everyone else's response.
08:56And the one that's...
08:57I think I think about Phil Wang's response really, really regularly.
09:01What's your favourite part of the UK that you've travelled to?
09:03Well, I lived in Scotland.
09:05Campbelltown in Argyle.
09:07And then...
09:08Lotta soup. Lotta soup in Campbelltown.
09:11Lotta soup in Campbelltown.
09:14Got it.
09:15And that became, I think the title of the episode is Lotta soup.
09:18Every time I text people and write Lotta,
09:20I think of Phil Wang.
09:22Rod's one was he just went...
09:25Cheer up, Jeff.
09:27Okay.
09:28And then he walked out.
09:29And bearing in mind, that is Jeff's entire day.
09:33Is coming here to do Taskmaster again.
09:37And that happens and then he gets sent home.
09:40That can't have been a...
09:42And it's his son-in-law has made him do it.
09:45So that can't have been a comfortable...
09:47You should get Andy to talk about what that day was like at home with the family.
09:53Because like, I don't know, that wouldn't have been a very good chat in my house.
09:56You're in Tenerife.
09:57You can hear the water.
09:58You wanted to hear the water, didn't you?
09:59Yeah.
10:01What else do you like to do in Tenerife?
10:03Eat, drink and be merry.
10:04Eat, drink and be merry.
10:06Absolutely.
10:08Just...
10:10Grumpy bloke.
10:12For this task anyway.
10:14And really funny that he wants to eat, drink and be merry.
10:17I forgot that I made him close his eyes.
10:20That's funny.
10:22Sometimes it's just for me, certain things are funny that make me laugh.
10:27And I don't think anyone else finds this funny.
10:29But I find it funny that I made him close his eyes.
10:32A very serious grumpy man is having to close his eyes like a little child playing along with make-believe.
10:37And then obviously to get Alex involved straight away and getting to be his wife was a lot of fun.
10:44Because I also just find the idea of people having wives funny.
10:48As an unmarried person who doesn't want to get married, I just find it very funny when people have a wife.
10:53And so I think it's quite funny here that Jeff has a wife and that I know that I've got that on him.
10:59What happens next I think is really...
11:05It's great but it's also regrettable.
11:08Wrap your lips around this.
11:11Cider.
11:13Cider?
11:14Tastes like cider.
11:16Champagne.
11:17Yeah, there you go.
11:19So that is a bottle of champagne that I'd run in here to the kitchen to find something that he could eat, drink and be merry.
11:26He didn't know what was in the kitchen, open the fridge, there's a bottle of champagne, I think, absolutely perfect.
11:34Run out, pop it open.
11:36He has a little drink.
11:38Didn't know that that bottle of champagne was for the crew to celebrate the fact that they'd won a BAFTA.
11:45No one had told me that.
11:46And before anything could happen, before they could say please don't open that and feed it to Jeff, I'd popped it open and it was in his mouth.
11:54And so they didn't have the celebratory champagne at the end of the day that was for all their hard work.
11:59What else do you want to leave?
12:01Sometimes go off on a trip up into the mountains.
12:04Okay, up into the mountains.
12:06Going up the mountain now. You have to climb up this mountain.
12:09Peaceful.
12:11Away from all of the hubbub of the city life.
12:15Traffic warning days are behind you now.
12:16So that siren there is probably, I think a lot of people know this watching Taskmaster, but they don't fake anything.
12:23So that was genuine, that while I was trying to say to him, you know, all your worries are behind you and everything's peaceful, a siren did go past.
12:31So they haven't put that in in post like a lot of shows would do.
12:34They just let it ride and that was what was happening while I was trying to chill him out.
12:39And it's all peaceful.
12:41Yeah, there it goes past and you even see it.
12:44What a show, man.
12:45You're sort of making me feel a bit sad, actually, Geoff, to be honest.
12:49Yeah, I can see that.
12:50Might make me smile, though.
12:52Does it make you happy to make other people sad?
12:55There's a certain amount in there.
12:56Oh, got it!
12:58Jess absolutely deserves to win it for stumbling across that.
13:01Because the way he kind of lets her know that she has stumbled across the key to making him laugh.
13:07And it's a much more satisfying way, I think, to solve the task than what I did.
13:12It's great.
13:13Shall we do a little bit of role play?
13:15Ah!
13:16Where's my car?
13:17In the police pan.
13:19Why?
13:20You don't see the sign.
13:21No waiting, including disabled.
13:22Where's that?
13:23I need my car!
13:24I've got to go to the footy!
13:26£125 and go and get it back.
13:27You're enjoying this?
13:28Yep!
13:30You can tell he's done that a billion times.
13:33The way that he...
13:34I mean, obviously, he just rolls off the tongue, telling her where her car is, and like, absolute that.
13:38And when he goes, yep, at the end, you can tell that's what he said.
13:42He says, so many people have said to him, you're enjoying this, aren't you?
13:44And he's going, yep.
13:46And that is what he says every time.
13:47And he loves it.
13:48Put your head on that pillow there, Geoff.
13:51I'm just not behaving myself now.
13:53Now, now I've decided it's funny to put them in bed together.
13:57And, er...
13:59Dream sweet dreams.
14:00He laughs!
14:01He laughs!
14:02He laughs at the end, being tucked up in bed with Alex.
14:04So that's pretty good.
14:05I mean, what I've got...
14:06What I've got to say is, it doesn't matter what you think about what you saw then, and the madness that Acaster brought to that task.
14:23That smile on little Geoff's face at the end was genuine when he was in bed with his wife.
14:27I think I did give Geoff a genuinely nice time.
14:32I think so.
14:33I think he would say that.
14:35Can we get him in?
14:37I feel like that should have been factored into it, really.
14:40We should have got genuine feedback from Geoff to say, like, how happy he was with everyone.
14:45Because that one, it was just down to Greg to say if we'd cheered him up or not.
14:50I think you need, like, to be a proper empath for that.
14:52Greg Davis doesn't really have that quality to him. He has many things, but he's not empathetic.
15:01So...
15:10Hello, James.
15:11Ignored him.
15:13Now, happy with that.
15:15Wasn't planned.
15:16Well, I think everyone who's done Taskmaster will tell you that on their way here, on day one, they're thinking, how am I going to approach it, you know, and be funny?
15:27And we're all thinking that in our heads, and we're going, I'll do this, I'll try and do this.
15:30And my main advice to anyone who's doing it always says, I'm doing Taskmaster, what's your advice?
15:38It's like, just don't make any plans.
15:41Because I think everything I planned on the way there, I didn't do.
15:43And then you end up just like, in the moment, not saying hello to him.
15:48And then you go, oh yeah, I'm going to do that every single time.
15:50But you know, I think on our series, Phil had planned that he was going to do a vendetta against me for the whole thing.
15:56And then he forgot about that.
15:58And he did it in his first task and then didn't do it again.
16:01And then he had to explain that in the studio and go like, yeah, the reason I slagged James off there was because I was going to do that for the whole thing.
16:07And obviously don't do it because you're genuinely just forced to be yourself.
16:12So ignoring Alex is not, it was not a planned joke.
16:15And it was not, it was just genuine.
16:18I didn't want to say hello to him every time.
16:20I just thought it was a waste of time.
16:22Put exactly 50 different things in this bin.
16:25Fastest wins.
16:26It's my favourite type of task.
16:28I've put exactly 50 different things.
16:29Is when they tell you to do something and you don't know it's actually leading to something else.
16:35Fastest wins.
16:39That was a wind up, get used to that.
16:41Yeah, so there's me saying, get used to that because it's day one.
16:45And I'm thinking, I'm going to wind him up all series.
16:48Actually, he's going to do that.
16:49It's going to, it's going to be the opposite.
16:51I've started the clock one at a time.
16:54And I didn't, I was initially not happy with my approach to it, which what I do is just, I put two ukuleles in there, I believe, or three.
17:03I just put loads of stones in there.
17:09It's quite a good approach, but it's not very entertaining, is it?
17:12Seeing someone put a bunch of pebbles into a wheelie bin.
17:17You know, and also I don't know, but that's not necessarily going to help me out later on.
17:23Sometimes Alex sits there and looks like annoyed that what is happening in front of him is so boring, as if that's not his fault.
17:4046, 46, 46, 48, 49, 50.
17:45I put exactly 50 things in this bin. Suck it.
17:49Quite satisfying to tell people to suck it.
17:50I grew up in the age of like, with like WWF, of like those, you know, the D-Generation X and stuff, telling people to suck it.
17:59I loved it as a kid. I loved the fact that they told people to suck it.
18:02And that would just be how I felt sometimes when I did a task.
18:05I put exactly 50 different, different things.
18:12I don't know if I argue this in a second, but every stone's different, right? Is that what I'm going to say?
18:18Do you want to explain suck it?
18:19Oh, okay, that's what he's picking up on.
18:20So luckily there, I could have been penalised on the stones, not all being different, but instead he kind of really locks in on suck it.
18:30Also what I'm noticing it, so they ask you what you want to wear in the studio.
18:34At the time I had no clothes that I liked whatsoever.
18:38And so I decided, I went online and I literally selected a bunch of stuff that I would never wear that I thought would be funny to wear on the show.
18:45This top I've got on now, I have never worn before or since.
18:49I am just wearing it for the show because I think it's funny to wear that.
18:54Obviously it's not, no one's ever found it funny.
18:56I think people have only ever watched it and gone, oh, that top doesn't really suit him or whatever.
19:03But I've since noticed on the show quite a few times other people doing, you know, this kind of stuff, not because of me, but because like, that's what the situation you end up in when they say, do you want to come on?
19:14Let us know what you want to wear in the studio. And I've noticed some people and I go, they're wearing that to amuse themselves.
19:23Kyle pops into my head, especially.
19:27James wins the first part of the task and gets five points.
19:29Incredibly.
19:30So I got five for that first bit. I have no memory of that.
19:37Because the reason I've chosen this task is for what happens next.
19:39So I didn't really, yeah, this first bit, didn't know that I got five points for that. That's nice.
19:45And obviously at this point, I know what happens next.
19:50That's one of the nicest things, I don't know, maybe, maybe this works against some people, but it's nice knowing what you've done in a task and be sitting there going, and I was really excited about this one.
20:05Using all the items on this mat.
20:07Make the best picture of the taskmaster.
20:10You have 10 minutes, your time starts now.
20:13You want me to do a picture of the escaped Easter Island monument that you call the taskmaster.
20:20Oh, shit. I should have gone with something more varied than this. The time starts.
20:27So I'm, I'm gutted at this point.
20:29So I've got one ukulele apparently and a load of rocks, which is like, does not look like Greg in any way as it is.
20:39And I've got to somehow make that look like Greg.
20:41This is day one of being in this house.
20:43I think I'd done the task where we've got to put all the coins in a, in a little pot, in a thing of water and not sink. I fucked that.
20:53No.
20:56Ah!
20:59Day one was one disaster and one absolute rip-roaring success when I felt like I was flying on golden air.
21:07And that's what this is.
21:08Well, I've got lots of red for the mouth.
21:11Okay.
21:12These are going to be eyebrows.
21:13He's quite frowning, isn't he?
21:14He's got one of those.
21:15Has he got one of those bum chins?
21:18Can I break this?
21:19Do I have your own?
21:20That is...
21:21Now, it doesn't look it, especially where I paused it there, but this is my smartest...
21:30This is the smartest I've ever been on any TV show, is when I realised that I could break the ukulele.
21:36It's the only eureka moment I have throughout the whole series.
21:43But yeah, it's not...
21:45The vision there of me snapping, it doesn't, you wouldn't think that's a clever man.
21:48I wasn't often very...
21:49And I know people will think this isn't true, but I wasn't actually very competitive on the show, really.
21:54I didn't, you know...
21:55But on this one, I definitely wanted to win it because I knew what I'd done.
21:59So I was sitting there hoping when it would flash to their ones, I hope these are shit.
22:05Now we get to see Jess and Phil's masterpiece.
22:07Yeah, being saved till last here.
22:10So I'm feeling good.
22:11I'm sitting there at this point being like, good, I've been saved till last.
22:14These two come up, brilliant, I've won.
22:16I know I've won the task at this point, because look at that.
22:21All the fault.
22:23I know that's bad.
22:24I know Jess's is bad.
22:25And I was very concerned about Jess's because I was thinking she's going to use all those things to paint an actual picture.
22:29But she didn't.
22:30More to the point, there's paint.
22:34So I could have, like, used the paint.
22:37Oh, yeah.
22:39That's a good one.
22:40I love it.
22:41Look at how happy I am at the end.
22:44Not very for coming.
22:45Just use them as the top of my head.
22:47Really happy that Jess has fucked up.
22:50We've secured last place, but let's have a look.
22:52Yeah.
22:53OK, finally, this is what James Aiken...
22:55Look at that face.
22:56Pause on that.
22:57That's a guy who knows he's going to win and is trying to look, trying to hold my cards close to the vest there.
23:03But I'm like, on the day I was walking around this house, just openly saying to the crew, how good a job I've done at this picture.
23:12Well, he transformed that into these.
23:23What doesn't come across as well is the ukulele strings I've used for his hair.
23:28That, I think, for me, was like...
23:31I was so proud of that, because I was like, that...
23:33You don't realise how much Greg Davies' hair looks like the strings of a ukulele, the severed strings of a ukulele,
23:39until you do pluck some strings off of a ukulele and put them on top of what is meant to be his head,
23:44and then you're like, that's exactly how his hair...
23:46You know when, like, people draw cartoon characters and they just draw single lines for hair like that?
23:51No one has that apart from Greg, actually, that is how his hair is.
23:55What I think is delightful and incredible is that you have managed to show the fear in Alex's face.
24:04I'm so pleased with myself there. Couldn't be more pleased.
24:07And it was on day one, which meant that for the rest of the series, filming tasks,
24:11I was like, you've got that.
24:13You've got that picture.
24:15So you're not gonna look completely useless.
24:17You've got that.
24:19Sometimes, when it was a creative one, I would think,
24:22I think I've won this, but he might screw me over.
24:25With this, I knew that no matter what, I'm winning it.
24:29Because sometimes, you know, you just put out a bit of art and it's subjective like all art is.
24:35And other times, you do Sergeant Pepper.
24:45Greatest task ever. Episode 10 was my favourite episode.
24:49Me and the Taskmaster.
24:50Um, it's just nice to kind of, like, do pastry.
24:54Have a jolly on the last one.
24:56It was great walking into this room and seeing this computer game.
24:59That's me. Select.
25:02I think getting to play this computer game was very, very cool.
25:05Where am I going?
25:06Oh, wow.
25:08I would like a full version of this game, if they can.
25:12That is like, okay.
25:16I guess you just do every series.
25:18Can't find the task on the table.
25:20Oh my God.
25:22Oh, that better not be who I think it is.
25:25But, obviously, any opportunity to ever dig at him.
25:28So, I just, hey!
25:30Physically recreate a classic computer game.
25:32Best recreation wins, the other one hour.
25:35I'm way out of my depth here.
25:37Yeah.
25:38Time starts now.
25:39I don't want to mess this up.
25:41Because it's a dream come true.
25:43Yeah.
25:44I echo those sentiments from Jess.
25:47Absolutely.
25:48As soon as you go, I'll get to do this.
25:50You are like, I really want to do this well.
25:53Otherwise, it's going to be a massive missed opportunity.
25:55It's such a cool task to get.
25:57And everyone nails it.
25:59Which is like, this whole task is this, like, my favourite from the whole series.
26:03Because everyone just does such an incredible job.
26:06And, you know, we all just forget about, you know, the rest of the show.
26:12It's just, you're just genuinely excited to see everyone's next one.
26:16So, like, Jess had done Mario Kart.
26:18It was brilliant.
26:24Fuller done GoldenEye is great.
26:30Heria got annoyed at Tetris.
26:31Oh, no, that's not fair.
26:33That's quite hilarious.
26:34This is what happens.
26:35Oh, no.
26:37And Rod had done an amazing Space Invaders one.
26:41Where he'd thrown tennis balls in people's plums.
26:44Oh!
26:46Look at the noises going.
26:47Dom, dom, dom.
26:48Dom, dom, dom.
26:49So, like, just at this point, I'm just glad that I get to show my one.
26:56And, like, and also I had no other video game in my head.
27:01As soon as they said, do you want to do one?
27:03I was like, I want to do Grand Theft Auto.
27:05There was nothing else that came into my mind.
27:07I think in my head, this is who I am 24-7 is this character.
27:13Come in.
27:14Come in.
27:15Come in.
27:16Of course, any excuse to beat up Alex.
27:29And he's going down that hill.
27:30By the way, that hill is quite steep.
27:31It's, you know, that features in a lot of episodes.
27:32So, everyone knows how steep that is.
27:33He is gunning it down that hill.
27:34And if I hadn't stopped him, would have got hurt.
27:35Come in.
27:36Come in.
27:37Come in.
27:38Come in.
27:39Come in.
27:40Come in.
27:41Come in.
27:42Come in.
27:43Come in.
27:44Come in.
27:45Come in.
27:50Come in.
27:55Come in.
27:56Come in.
27:57Come in.
27:58Come in.
27:59Come in.
28:00I mean, there's countless opportunities to shout out the amazing team who made this show.
28:04But obviously, on the day, I'm just doing all of this stuff.
28:08I don't know how accurately they're going to do everything.
28:11And the amount of detail in this, like the weapon select and stuff that goes on a shoe.
28:17That wasn't me saying, you should do this.
28:21So, you know, most of this task is probably other people doing it.
28:25And I'm just running around in a shirt pretending to beat Alex up.
28:28I'm singing my music song.
28:34And then here comes Alex again.
28:35What are we selecting?
28:36A baseball bat?
28:37Beat him with that.
28:38What other show lets you do that?
28:39And then I want to beat him up with a baseball bat?
28:40Yeah, fine.
28:41Stump bonus.
28:42Stump bonus.
28:43Stump bonus.
28:44It's a really good stunt bonus.
28:45I don't usually cycle.
28:46So that's pretty good.
28:47Cameo from Ollie.
28:48Yeah, now the duck thing is, we did a whole thing, a whole scene, like in GTA, where someone
29:08gives you the mission.
29:09So it was Alex telling me, he's lost his duck and I've got to go and find this duck.
29:15And it was like, get out there and get my duck and all of this.
29:18It was a whole thing.
29:19And obviously there wasn't enough time for that in the edit, clearly.
29:22So I'm just kind of grabbing a duck and there's no reason for it.
29:25No one's ever picked me up on it.
29:26It was never a question mark.
29:27And considering, you know, the audience who watch this show are very, you know, detail
29:32orientated and they want explanations for everything.
29:35So I'm surprised this has never come back at me.
29:37And no one's ever gone, why do you pick a duck up?
29:39And why is that so important for you when you're playing the game?
29:43But it was because I was meant to rescue Alex's duck.
29:45Oh no, it's the cops.
29:48This Simon was put in, in post.
29:51And really excited about doing this wasted bit as well.
29:55And again, they just nail it.
29:57I think they had a camera, like a GoPro on a rod.
30:00Not Rod Gilbert.
30:01And they were able to just like lift it up like that.
30:04And they make it look exactly like it does in the game.
30:07It's like, it is mad.
30:09And obviously you don't see it on the day.
30:11So I'm just really hoping that this looks like GTA.
30:16And, you know, I mean, most crews would not do even half as good a job at this.
30:24There is a man who has played a lot of Grand Theft Auto.
30:28Yeah, but also I think Andy Devonshire has played a lot of Grand Theft Auto.
30:31In an hour.
30:32Yeah, all done within an hour.
30:33They weren't real guns.
30:34No, no, no, I gather.
30:35So it was a recreation.
30:36We made them up with cardboard, but they looked real, didn't they?
30:38And I just wanted to beat Alex up in as many ways as possible.
30:42Yeah, well, everyone wants that.
30:45Absolutely my favourite moment of the whole series.
30:47Watching everyone's tasks and also, yeah, being proud of my own one as well.
30:53Perfect.
30:55Yeah, I've not chosen any team tasks.
30:58That one would have been, if I was to choose a team task, I would choose,
31:03when we did the soap opera there.
31:06We did Feelings.
31:08Everybody's got feelings.
31:11Feelings hurt and feel good.
31:13Everybody's got feelings.
31:16Feelings hurt and feel good.
31:22I've got on record many times, including on the show, about what Team Task Day was like.
31:27And it's, you know, it's tough now because Rod is, you know, Rod is now an inspirational figure.
31:35He wasn't back then, but since, you know, he's now beat cancer.
31:40So it's hard to just slag him off on stuff.
31:44But, you know, he was a nightmare.
31:47He was an absolute nightmare.
31:50We did five tasks in a day, and as you do them all the team tasks in one day,
31:55and as it progressed, I'd say his ability to hold attention on the tasks
32:05and not just go off and do his own thing got less and less, and it was impossible.
32:10When I saw in the studio certain things he did, like I wasn't aware on the day
32:15that when we were building an extension, he'd stumbled across this cave of equipment
32:22that we could have used to make a good fit and he just shut it and did his own thing anyway.
32:26I didn't know that he did that.
32:32Look, if I was to do Taskmaster again, I wouldn't have it any other way.
32:37I'd want to be on it with Rod Gilbert. I'd want to be on a team with Rod Gilbert.
32:41You need your own personal antagonist, and he was absolutely that.
32:47And I still love him to this day. Loved him going into the series. Loved him coming out of it.
32:56Walk over and hit that drum in exactly 9.58 seconds.
33:04Also, there are two bonus points for the person with the most magnificent walk.
33:11James, you're first. We're going left to right.
33:14Come on, James. Does anyone have any questions?
33:16Obviously, I've chosen this not for my own...
33:19Oh, you don't need to walk blindfolded.
33:20...roll in it. I don't care.
33:23It's, er...
33:27OK, Craig, are you ready for the first horse?
33:29Fully without what happens to Jess.
33:31On my whistle. Here we go.
33:33Yeah, so this is whatever.
33:38I've worn all grings. I thought it was funny.
33:41I think that maybe I got razzed a little bit for it.
33:46And that is hitting that drum there.
33:48You can tell I'm actually a drummer.
33:50Hands on heart. That is not far away from your normal walk.
33:53Yeah, he's right there.
33:55Next to walk is Jessica Nackett.
33:57So here we go. One of the best moments of all time in television.
34:00Um...
34:03So embarrassing.
34:04She's...
34:06She's really going... She's doing so much.
34:08And she does the fake fall.
34:10And then... There we go.
34:14Grace checking if she's alright there.
34:15I bet he asked for that to go in the edit.
34:17When I check that she's okay and I say to her, you're alright.
34:20Make sure you put that in.
34:21So that everyone knows how much of a caring guy I am.
34:25Look at us all.
34:30Now, we're all sitting there.
34:33It's an amazing...
34:35I can't really describe it.
34:38It's an amazing feeling to be sat there with a blindfold on.
34:42And hear that.
34:44And no one is saying that she's fallen off the stage.
34:47But we're all pretty sure Jess has just fallen off the stage.
34:51Um...
34:52And we don't know how bad it is.
34:54To what degree it's happened.
34:56When we hear the drum get hit at the end.
34:58I think we're pretty pleased to the...
35:00Well, you know, she's clearly not completely incapacitated.
35:04I didn't see what it looked like until it went out on TV.
35:06So I actually didn't know for ages what had happened.
35:09But I knew Jess had fallen off the stage.
35:11And, uh...
35:13I loved that I just got to hear it.
35:14And just sit there listening.
35:15And that there were three other people with me.
35:18When Greg had rushed to help Jess, he accidentally cupped her boob.
35:22And that was, uh...
35:24That was made a big deal of by Jess and by Greg.
35:27It was quite, uh...
35:29Awkward for both of them.
35:30It was accidental.
35:31And, uh...
35:32Just made an already mortifying situation even worse.
35:36Um...
35:37But instead he's clearly had a word.
35:39With, uh...
35:40The people who edit this.
35:41And said...
35:42Take...
35:43Take out...
35:44That bit where I accidentally feel her up.
35:46And instead put in the bit where I mime.
35:48Are you alright?
35:49And I look like a really great guy.
35:51Greg said...
35:52Greg mimes.
35:53Are you okay?
35:54Are you alright?
35:55Well, it was my response.
35:56Tell me you fell off.
35:58She was like, yeah, I fell off.
35:59And I was like, oh God.
36:00But I don't remember what else she said.
36:02But I think she definitely said, I really milked it as well.
36:05I was milking it.
36:07I was doing the whole walk.
36:08I was like really milking the...
36:10Oh, am I gonna fall?
36:11And then I actually fell.
36:12And now that's called the nappet.
36:14That, uh...
36:15That little runway.
36:17The fact that Jess has an actual permanent feature of Taskmaster named after her.
36:23I wish I'd fallen off.
36:24I imagine that now, whenever they do stuff involving people walking down the nappet, they do put some sort of crash mat down on the floor.
36:33There's some health and safety that comes into it.
36:35There wasn't any at this point.
36:37That was just the solid floor.
36:38The ground.
36:39The chest fell on.
36:41And that thing is not...
36:42That's...
36:43It's tall.
36:44It's high up.
36:45So, uh...
36:46You know...
36:47I'll let Jess...
36:48When Jess does her own one of these, I'm sure.
36:51She can say exactly what injuries she sustained from that.
36:55Please scream your thoraxes apart for...
36:58James Acaster!
37:00That was my ultimate episode.
37:03I think it's pretty good.
37:05You can watch all of Series 7 on YouTube, apparently.
37:11Which, you know...
37:13Bit gutting to discover that.
37:14When I did it, it was on telly.
37:15It was going out on TV.
37:17But now you can just watch it on the same thing you're watching this on.
37:22So, like...
37:23I guess...
37:24It didn't do as well as I thought it did.
37:27Now we're a YouTube show.
37:29Um...
37:30So you can watch it on YouTube.
37:32And then, probably, eventually, you can just, you know...
37:36Just come free with your phone.
37:37When you get a phone.
37:38And it'll just be all the Series 7 of Taskmaster.
37:41And you can...
37:42You have to delete it to make room for the stuff you really want to see.
37:45Uh...
37:46No, have a good Christmas if you celebrate it.
37:49Uh...
37:50If you don't, I'm jealous of you.
37:51I imagine you have quite a stress-free December.
