FunTranscript
00:00Joining us for some festive fun are professional dancer and Strictly Come Dancing judge Anton Debeck.
00:07I love Christmas. I wish I was one of those people who would start buying presents in June, but I'm not.
00:15I start buying presents on the 23rd of December.
00:18It's not Christmas unless you're running around with your hair on fire.
00:21I haven't got any more presents.
00:27Comedian Lucy Beaumont.
00:28Christmas Day, there's usually some sort of argument, but nothing too major.
00:34It calms everybody down.
00:35We do that instead of playing board games.
00:39We used to do Guess Who, and now we just have an argument.
00:43Oh, my God!
00:45Actor and writer Susan Wakoma.
00:47Christmas gives a point to it being cold.
00:50I love big coats. I love, like, mulled wine.
00:54And then as soon as it's, like, the 1st of January, I'm like, where's the sun?
00:57And gladiator Tom Wilson, a.k.a. Hammer.
01:01I want to show people gladiators can sew.
01:05From jewel to the sewing machine, I can do it.
01:07Merry Christmas, one and all.
01:16Celebrity sewers, please come forward.
01:24So, I'm your host, Sophie.
01:26I'm pregnant.
01:27I'm practically the Virgin Mary.
01:28Without the barn, the donkey, or the virginity, let's be honest.
01:32Yeah.
01:33Are you ready?
01:34I'm ready.
01:35So ready.
01:36It's that time of year.
01:38You're going to make some terrible life choices at the Christmas office party.
01:42You will, I think.
01:43I've got my eye on you.
01:44Yes, I will.
01:45I can tell.
01:46Yeah, you're wild, I know.
01:48But until then, we're going to sew.
01:50Esme, what we're doing first?
01:52Right, here we go.
01:54Fast and round.
01:55Thank you very much.
01:56Oh, okay.
01:57We want you to make a Christmas present sack.
02:01It's got a band at the top with a drawstring closure and a lining.
02:07Lining?
02:08Yeah.
02:08Is it absolutely necessary?
02:09Yes.
02:10Okay, just checking.
02:11Cheating already.
02:13You'll find loads of coloured fabric in the haberdashery,
02:16and there's festive embellishments on the cutting table
02:19with which to Christmas-ify your sacks.
02:23Because we know that Christmas is not all about presents.
02:27It's about the fabulous sacks that they come in.
02:29So, are you ready to pimp your sacks?
02:31I'm ready.
02:32Are you ready, Anton?
02:33Yes.
02:34Fabulous, okay.
02:36Right, you've got two hours.
02:38Your time starts now.
02:40Now, here we go.
02:42As time is of the essence,
02:43the celebrities need to think fast as well as festive
02:46when choosing both their fabric...
02:48He's a bit you, lad.
02:51..and their decorations.
02:54That one.
02:55The leopard print.
02:56I'm very traditional.
02:57So, I love this.
02:59This is Christmas.
03:00And if my children were to wake up with a Christmas sack like this
03:02at the end of their bed, they'd be delighted.
03:06So, what have they got to do, then?
03:09We've asked them to make a Christmas present sack.
03:12Think how many presents will go in this bag.
03:16So, do you think the bigger the better than Esme?
03:18Yes.
03:19Fabulous.
03:20We could almost fit Esme in this sack.
03:21I was thinking that.
03:22That would be the best present, wouldn't it?
03:24So, bottle of sherry and Esme pops out.
03:26Yeah.
03:27So, what are all the elements that they have to do?
03:30Well, you've got the outside of the bag,
03:32you've got a lining,
03:34and then you've got cords.
03:37They might not choose the easiest fabric.
03:39They might go for something sparkly and fun-looking,
03:41which would be tricky to sew.
03:43And you've got decoration.
03:44It's important.
03:46You express yourself.
03:48You express yourself through your sack.
03:50LAUGHTER
03:51My job as a gladiator is being up there,
03:56knocking people down.
03:58It's pretty heavy-handed.
03:59So, pinning fabric is a challenge.
04:02I've never made a sack before,
04:04but I've made an oven glove.
04:05It's quite different, actually.
04:10Last time I went on the sewing machine was about 35 years ago.
04:13We used to make our own costumes.
04:15Basically, love this.
04:18Alrighty, come on!
04:19The Christmas present sack is made from four pattern pieces.
04:25First, the top band pieces are stitched to the top and bottom edges of the main panel.
04:30Then it's time to decorate.
04:33Next, the lining is attached to each top band piece, creating a big loop.
04:38A gap is left in one of the seams for turning out later.
04:43Then the sides are sewn, leaving a gap for the cord.
04:46The sack is then turned right side out and the opening is stitched closed.
04:52Finally, two rows of stitching create a channel for the cord.
04:56The cord is threaded, extra decoration is added and the sack is complete.
05:02Good morning.
05:03Morning.
05:04Cracking on.
05:05You've got a plan for embellishing it?
05:07Yes, so, every Christmas, I spend it in Lancaster with friends of mine.
05:11And we drink martinis, so that is what's going to be the embellishment on the front.
05:15Ooh.
05:16Yeah.
05:17She is certainly keen on a Christmas martini.
05:20Have you done any of this sort of stuff before?
05:22None at all.
05:22That's brave of you to come on.
05:24Well, doubly brave because you've chosen a slippery sequin fabric, which is really hard to sew.
05:29It is really hard to sew, but you're right.
05:30That seems like madness.
05:32Madness.
05:33Well, I've made something for madness.
05:35Yeah.
05:37That sucks.
05:38Just name drop.
05:42What's Christmas if it's not a massive, clanging name drop?
05:46Clang!
05:48While Susan's gambling on sophisticated sequins...
05:51Hello.
05:52This looks good.
05:54I like leopard print.
05:55Lucy's gone for something saucy.
05:57Well, I'm going to tell a story because my mum used to have a nightdress like that.
06:01It's meant to be, you know, when Mummy Kisses Santa Claus, that song, like, a take on that.
06:06I show Mummy kisses...
06:10The inside of it is meant to be Father Christmas.
06:14So it's a bit like your mum sleeping with Santa in the 90s.
06:18Good luck.
06:21Oh, thank you, Sophie.
06:22Fabulous.
06:24It's living up to sew.
06:27Right sides.
06:28Ah!
06:30Right sides together.
06:31Stitch the top band.
06:32I'm absolutely terrified.
06:35My first step.
06:36Oh, this is exciting.
06:38The first job is to sew the top band to the main fabric.
06:41That's so cool.
06:43A gladiator on a sewing machine.
06:45This is just where it's meant to be.
06:47But the celebrities will have to hang tough.
06:49Ooh!
06:51As even delicate sewing has its own dangerous obstacles.
06:55Pins get in the way, don't they?
06:57They're moving with me.
06:59I feel like I'm on Coronation Street, you know, that factory.
07:04While this isn't a soap, there's certainly room for slip-ups.
07:07Careful of the sequins.
07:09Oh, God, that's slipped out underneath.
07:11Especially with Susan's slippery fabric.
07:13The sequins are hard.
07:16As my and Patrick went lying.
07:18Hello, Anton.
07:20How are we doing?
07:20You look very studious.
07:22I have to tell you, I'm terribly excited.
07:24My children will love this.
07:26How many kids have you?
07:27Two.
07:27I've got a boy and a girl.
07:28Eight now, which makes Christmas even more fabulous.
07:31That is fun, isn't it?
07:32Do you dress up as Santa?
07:33Yeah, there's a photograph of me being Santa Claus.
07:35Right, very thin, athletic Santa, aren't you?
07:38Well, I try to.
07:38Actually, I am also quite good at moving.
07:42I can do a twerk.
07:43Can you now?
07:44But I'd like to learn some ballroom.
07:46Would you?
07:47Yeah.
07:48You go back with your left foot.
07:49So you go back, side, together.
07:52Forward, side, together.
07:54I feel amazing.
07:55Back, side.
07:56You look like a swan.
07:57You do feel amazing.
07:59Shall I quickly show you the twerk?
08:00Yeah.
08:01The best thing to do, Anton, imagine you're getting electrocuted.
08:04Let me give that a thought.
08:06Hang on.
08:06And it's like it's coming at you.
08:08Right.
08:09And its legs are shaking.
08:10And you're trying to get away, but you just can't.
08:13See, you're searching.
08:15Okay.
08:15And then all the jelly goes.
08:16And then all the jelly goes.
08:18That's it.
08:19Yeah.
08:20Yeah.
08:20Yeah.
08:21Ah.
08:23See you at the Christmas party.
08:25All righto.
08:25Let's make some mistakes.
08:26Just like the wise men, you've got a long journey ahead and no sat-nav.
08:37You're halfway there.
08:39Oh, my God.
08:40We're looking good.
08:41You've done this before, haven't you?
08:42No, I've not.
08:43Yeah, you have.
08:44Having attached their top bands, it's time for our novice sewing stars to stitch on their decorations.
08:51Sorry, did I say stitch?
08:52I mean iron.
08:54Martini glass.
08:55But even ironing might be a stretch for Anton.
09:01Don't run the wrong way around.
09:02How can I get the sticky bit on the wrong bit?
09:03Absolute eejit.
09:05I'm going for traditional Christmas design for my new nephew.
09:09My sister's had a lovely boy called Grayson.
09:11Well, I know Grayson Perry.
09:13Oh, do you?
09:14More name dropping.
09:15Yeah, name dropping there.
09:18I'm going to sew tinsel, so this is going to be the martini liquid.
09:22Oh, oh.
09:23It's too fast.
09:24Watch your.
09:24Foot thing.
09:25That's the technical term, the foot thing.
09:27A pedal.
09:28I feel like I'm in a band when I do that.
09:30While Susan pushes herself in the name of glamour...
09:33Hello.
09:34Hello, hello.
09:35Lucy's saucy leopard print design is ready for a sneak preview.
09:40Do you like what I'm doing?
09:41Personally, I'm not sure that just a leopard print sack, that just, ma'am, screams Christmas.
09:49It's meant to be.
09:49Do you know that song, I saw mummy kissing Santa Claus?
09:52Oh, yeah.
09:52But feels like he's gone a bit seedy.
09:58Wise men, how are you doing?
10:00Tired?
10:02Confused?
10:03Following a light in the sky that you hope is a weather spoon?
10:05You've got 30 minutes left.
10:10Currently sewing the lining.
10:12It's inside out.
10:13With the lining attached to the sack inside out, there's one input and step for the sewers
10:19to remember.
10:19And you must leave a gap in the seam.
10:22The gap enables the sack to be turned the right way.
10:25Oh, I've made a bit of a boo-boo.
10:27This is closed.
10:28But Lucy has sewn us together.
10:31It's all going on here.
10:33I'm going to unpick it.
10:35I'm about to pull this through.
10:37Yes.
10:37It looks a bit like when you get stuck with a duvet.
10:40While the other celebrities turn their sacks the right way...
10:43Can she do it?
10:45Will she do it?
10:46She's doing it.
10:48Brilliant.
10:50Lucy's left looking for an opening.
10:52Surely there's the technology to not have to do this.
10:56The need to invent a machine for unpicking.
10:59Tom, this is quite a sight, I have to say.
11:02Seeing a gladiator intricately sewing a pattern.
11:06So is this a hammer here?
11:07This is a hammer.
11:08This is to remind myself who I am.
11:10How tall are you?
11:11Six foot six.
11:12How tall are you?
11:12Five foot three.
11:13Let me stand up.
11:14Hey, my bum just fits completely just above yours.
11:17Oh, of course, yeah.
11:17No, it's really comfortable.
11:18I know, it's really uncomfortable.
11:19Can you just follow me round like this?
11:20I'm just staying here.
11:21It's fabulous.
11:22I've finished unpicking.
11:24I might just have a break.
11:27I don't have him.
11:28I feel like we've been here years.
11:30Hurry up, wise men.
11:31The baby's crowning.
11:33We've got 15 minutes.
11:34I'm trying to pull the drawstring through and it's getting constantly caught.
11:41The cord needs to be threaded through the narrow channels.
11:44Last time I'd pulled the cord through, it was my children's swim costumes.
11:48In actual fact, my wife's swimming costume.
11:51We're nearly there.
11:53I think I can do this.
11:54But Lucy's still battling with her bag.
11:56If I'd finish it, it's going to be a miracle.
12:00Right, we've got 10 minutes.
12:02Oh, my gosh.
12:04And now I'm going to tart it up.
12:05How about bells?
12:09Esme, upside to me.
12:10Lovely big boat.
12:12You know, you know it.
12:13How much time have we got left?
12:16One minute left.
12:19Terrifying.
12:20Keep it up.
12:21Fosse, fosse.
12:21Ooh, ooh, ooh.
12:22Fosse, fosse.
12:23Come on, come on, come on.
12:24Jazz hands.
12:25Jazz hands.
12:26So, so, so.
12:27Piece of the resistance.
12:28Both.
12:30Put some bells on.
12:31I hear bells.
12:32Perfect.
12:33Oh.
12:34It's just awful.
12:37Needles of sewers.
12:39It may be the most wonderful time of the year,
12:41but your time is up.
12:45I could actually do one of them martinis, Susie.
12:47I know, right?
12:48The candle was homemade.
12:50Wow.
12:50Deep arts and crafts.
12:51That's great.
12:52And you've got bells on it.
12:53Got bells and whistles.
12:54That's really cool, isn't it?
12:56I said it'd be messy, but it's an actual sack.
13:00You can't be sure that he's coming around
13:03With presents in his sack
13:06Four Christmas sacks,
13:09packed full of presents,
13:11Made in just two hours.
13:14Look at you, sparkly lot.
13:17You look like a fabulous festive bunch of burglars.
13:20So what do you think?
13:21Brilliant.
13:22All of them, brilliant.
13:23Bags of festive goodness.
13:25It's a bad joke.
13:27Yes, I get it.
13:27That was good, Dad.
13:28Yeah, thanks.
13:29Fast.
13:29Jingle bells, jingle bells, jingle all the way.
13:36Oh, what fun it is to ride in a one-horse open sleigh.
13:40Dingle bells, jingle bells, jingle all the way.
13:46Oh, what fun it is to ride in a one-horse open sleigh.
13:52A sleigh.
13:53Hey.
13:53Hey.
13:54I think the candle's great.
13:56You've got little berries.
13:58I love the colours.
13:59Oh, and it's a red lining.
14:01That works really well.
14:02If I'm being nitpicky, slightly misaligned at the side.
14:05A little step, but look at your draw chords.
14:09Those work.
14:10You hold it and tug.
14:11Hold and tug.
14:11Hold and tug.
14:12That's the way with this sack.
14:14Right, excellent.
14:16Thank you very much.
14:17Oh, I feel a bit emotional.
14:19I've had such a bad experience with judges over the years.
14:22Pretty good.
14:36You pleased?
14:37Yeah, very pleased.
14:37We've got a Christmas message, which is to your new nephew, Grayson.
14:42Draw chords are in.
14:43Yep.
14:44The only thing I don't like is gold decorations.
14:48Don't go with white.
14:50But obviously trying to curry favour with this judge with a massive bow.
14:55And it's clump.
14:56How do you have time to make bows?
14:58That's the difference between gladiators and strictly dancers.
15:02They have time to make bows.
15:05Thank God I'm no longer a dancer.
15:08Everybody there was drinking martinis with me.
15:12Everybody there was drinking martinis with me.
15:16Well, cheers, Susan and your martini.
15:20I think it's a lovely idea.
15:21I like the fabric and it's great that you've sewed these sparkly bits.
15:26But the martini glasses disappear a little.
15:29Yeah, it does.
15:29I think you needed a bit more contrast.
15:32If they'd been a different colour, they might have leapt out a little bit more.
15:35It's interesting that you use sequins because they come unravelled.
15:39Yeah.
15:40This stuff is really difficult to sew.
15:42There's a couple of little raw bits.
15:44Also gold brocade phrase.
15:46But I think it's a really good effort.
15:48Mega festive.
15:49Bravo.
15:51I saw mummy kissing Santa Claus
15:57Underneath the mistletoe last night
16:04Well, it's a murkier Christmas tale.
16:09A bit of Christmas sleaze under the mistletoe.
16:12Yeah.
16:13My mother.
16:14I was hoping for a bit more than just, ma'am.
16:18I mean, there isn't Santa Claus.
16:19He's the toweling.
16:20Santa's the toweling.
16:22So it's a story we need to unpack with a bit more thought.
16:26Slowly.
16:26I'm not sure about this fabric.
16:28Why?
16:29Because it's brown.
16:31And it's not very Christmassy.
16:33Christmas puddings are brown.
16:34Well, we could throw a bit of brandy over it and set fire to it.
16:39LAUGHTER
16:39Seems a little harsh.
16:43It's a little bit untidy.
16:46Got these little raw bits.
16:47Oh, God.
16:48He's had a hard life.
16:50How come you didn't sew this in?
16:54I don't know.
16:55You don't know.
16:55I think I was eating a toffee crisp at the time, if I'm honest.
16:58LAUGHTER
16:59When do we set fire to it?
17:03The judges will now rank the Christmas sacks from fourth to first place.
17:08Fourth place, we have Lucy.
17:12It's a little untidy.
17:15And I don't like brown.
17:17I wish she had told you before.
17:19In third place is Susan.
17:23The martini glasses disappear.
17:25Oh, OK.
17:25In second place...
17:28..tom.
17:31Nothing much to choose between them.
17:34You can be really, really proud of it.
17:35It's brilliant.
17:35Thank you very much.
17:36In first place is Anton.
17:39APPLAUSE
17:40It's fabulous.
17:43I love the candle and all the bells.
17:46Thank you very much.
17:47So you can bob off now, enjoy yourselves, relax and chill,
17:50and you come back for the Transformation Challenge.
17:53Off you go.
17:55Shall we have an eggnog?
17:56No, I want a brandy.
17:57Brandy?
17:58Well done yours.
18:00Well done.
18:02We wish you a mayb absor SIS.
18:04We wish you a Merry Christmas, we wish you a Merry Christmas
18:08We wish you a Merry Christmas, we wish you a Merry Christmas
18:10Do you think it? Woo!
18:13What? Screen covered in tinsel and goes ribbit, ribbit, mistleturd.
18:19Ah, mistleturd? Yeah.
18:21Mistlet... Toad.
18:23Oh, mistletoad!
18:25It all went swimmingly, I have to say.
18:28I mean, this is my... This is the best Christmas I've ever had.
18:32Who knew bells would have such an effect?
18:35You know, Anton's got his creativity, hasn't he, from his dancing.
18:38So I perhaps could have just swayed it if I'd got the chords right.
18:42It'd have been in mind then.
18:43Esme said she wanted to burn it, she doesn't like brown.
18:47But they did acknowledge that it was a sack.
18:51I'm actually really excited by the transformation challenge
18:53because, like, what's it going to be? You've got no idea.
18:56Like, we'll cross that bridge when we come to it,
18:58which is basically how I approach life.
19:02That bridge has arrived sooner than Susan thinks.
19:07Patrick and Esme are about to get the party started.
19:11Welcome back, sewers.
19:12It's now time for the transformation challenge,
19:16which is where you take something old, unloved and a bit knackered
19:19and you zhuzh it up a bit, a bit like I've tried to do with my feet.
19:22They still look like hocks of ham, but now they look like hocks of ham,
19:26you might win in a raffle, which is lovely.
19:29So, Patrick, what are you asking them to transform this week?
19:33On this day of Christmas, we judges give to the...
19:36party wear...
19:41inspired by the 12 days of Christmas,
19:45we would like you to make a fancy dress outfit for a child.
19:50Think swans, milking maids, geese, leaping lords, etc.
19:56Right.
19:57When we look at them, we must know what verse you did
20:01and we want to smile immediately.
20:04All right, OK.
20:05Now, the judges aren't allowed to be here for this.
20:08They're going to go out, probably eat some chocolates
20:10and put the wrappers back in the tin.
20:11Off you, Pop.
20:14Now the adults have gone, you've got an hour and a half.
20:17Off you go.
20:17That is cool.
20:22I think I've actually worn that.
20:24With 12 possible characters to choose from,
20:26our celebrities need to be decisive.
20:30Do you know what colour swans legs are?
20:31Let me think about the last one I shaved.
20:34If they're to transform their chosen garments in time...
20:38What's it doing?
20:39Piece of laying, swans of swimming.
20:41This is a swan.
20:43What I'm thinking...
20:44I might just put this on the mannequin and call it a lady dancing.
20:47I don't know all the 12 Days of Christmas.
20:49I was the kid who was quiet and then shouted,
20:52Five gold rings!
20:57So, party wear into a fancy dress outfit
21:02inspired by the 12 Days of Christmas.
21:03They could be quite literal.
21:05It could be a swan or a hen or a drummer,
21:08but it could be something a little more tangential,
21:11as long as we can link it.
21:13There are lots of birds involved.
21:15There's lots of feathery fabrics,
21:16and that lends itself, obviously, to our feathered friends.
21:20We have cut them a bit of slack,
21:21because we've given them these base outfits
21:24that they can use as a kind of structure
21:26to build their fancy dress outfit around.
21:29There's also wadding they can use,
21:31so they could make something 3D.
21:34Right, I'm off to see what my true love has given to me.
21:37I'm your true love.
21:43Oh, no, that's tall, isn't it?
21:45I need lots of padding, you know, to go in it, like, fill in.
21:48What I'm doing, three French hens.
21:50We've got, er, kind of, like, ghibli bits.
21:54Awful.
21:55Er, we've got, like, a bit of red,
21:57we've got a little bit of this.
21:59We're going to rustle feathers.
22:00That's what we're going to do.
22:01Oh, it's feathers everywhere.
22:03Tom, how are you?
22:04I'm covered in feathers,
22:05but that should be a good sign to what I'm doing.
22:07Seven swans are swimming.
22:09Do you like the...
22:10the swan's beak I'm going to go for?
22:12What else is going on, then?
22:13Have you got eyes?
22:14I'd not thought about eyes.
22:16I'm guessing the child will have eyes.
22:19Yeah, because they bring their own eyes.
22:22So, I've got a goose here.
22:24I'm doing Gisa Lane.
22:25How do you tell?
22:27How do you tell?
22:28Wah!
22:29Wah!
22:31I'm absolutely quackers.
22:33While most celebrities choose to make beautiful birds...
22:37Don't fight the sparkle.
22:39Lucy's choice.
22:40What are you making?
22:41Er, udders.
22:42Udders?
22:42You know, the maid's milking.
22:44It's a little more niche.
22:46Have you done an udder before?
22:48This is my first udder, Sophie.
22:50Right.
22:50That's quite a good udder, isn't it?
22:52Do you think?
22:52Yeah.
22:53Well, it's going to be a cow.
22:54Are you confident you'll know this is a cow?
22:57I mean, it's not a giraffe, is it?
23:00You know your animals.
23:01I know animals.
23:02So far, I've done a bit of stitching on the washing machine.
23:07What did I say?
23:08Washing machine?
23:09Sewer machine.
23:10It just about fits on my arm, to be really honest with you.
23:15That's my swan.
23:16Do I hear the word swan from over the other side of the room?
23:19I've got bird competition.
23:21Anyway.
23:22I'm creating wings.
23:25Rick.
23:25Hello, dear.
23:26I'm just checking out what you're doing.
23:28I'm just trying to get a few tips.
23:29Since you did win the first one, I need to know what.
23:31Well, yeah, but we've moved on from sacks, so I'm back where I start.
23:39Sewers, you're halfway through.
23:41I've just sewed this with a slight opening.
23:45I'm going to just stuff with fill-in.
23:49While it's traditional to stuff birds at Christmas...
23:51If this doesn't say bird, I don't know what does.
23:53...Lucy's udders are having an identity crisis.
23:56I am worried that this looks like a turkey.
24:01And she's not the only one getting muddled.
24:04We're going to be putting this tartan hood on my French hen.
24:10Susan's French hen has become a Scot.
24:13I probably should have picked something less Scottish.
24:16But it's cool.
24:16Hello.
24:17It looks fabulous.
24:18I think I might like this for the baby.
24:20Really?
24:21I might take it home with mess.
24:23If it all goes really bad, you sort of have to lie.
24:26Yeah.
24:27You'll just know because I won't pick it up at the end.
24:31I'm just attaching patches in the udder to the cow.
24:35Look at that.
24:39Eh, wow.
24:40My daughter would never let me make her a dress like this.
24:43I've just seen Lucy's...
24:47Is that a swan?
24:48That could be a swan.
24:49No.
24:50Milking things.
24:51Nice.
24:51Excellent.
24:52Cows are milking.
24:53Ooh.
24:55Hello, cheeky lady.
24:57Do you like it?
24:59Interesting.
25:00Very avant-garde.
25:01Do you think?
25:02Yeah.
25:03You've definitely got the edgy number.
25:07Right, so it's 15 minutes.
25:09Just a stress.
25:10All the celebrities are rushing to add familiar features.
25:15Might make an egg.
25:16Geese are laying.
25:17And Lucy's milking it.
25:19Do you live life dangerously?
25:21I would like to make udders for the head as well.
25:24I'm only going to need about ten minutes and then I'm just going to cry in the toilet.
25:29Like Christmas Day, really.
25:30For Susan...
25:32Bugger.
25:34Christmas is already bar humbug.
25:36I've sewed strips of embellishment over the beak.
25:40I'm hiding the end of the beak.
25:42Which I really wasn't meant to do.
25:45So I've got to unpick it, which is really annoying.
25:48Well, I'm having a lovely time.
25:49I'm making a golden egg.
25:51A five, six, seven and a one.
25:54Anton, too much fossing.
25:56I said lie.
25:58Oh my God.
25:59I'm attempting to sew the swan's feet.
26:03And that is a swan's foot.
26:06I put some leggings on the head and now I'm stitching the udders.
26:09With no one else dressed like this, you know.
26:11I've got to sew this again.
26:13Five minutes, come on!
26:15Oh God, no.
26:16Shall we hang the egg from the bottom?
26:19Ooh!
26:20I love the feet.
26:22It's that competitive gladiator spirit.
26:25Come on.
26:25It's a bit worried.
26:26I'll ruin it.
26:27One minute.
26:28We're running out of time.
26:31That's stuck.
26:32No child would want to wear this.
26:34Ooh.
26:35Shove the eyes on.
26:36Celebrity sewers.
26:37Needles up.
26:39I did it, guys.
26:40No bother, as the Scots say.
26:42It's like Beyonce if she was a hen.
26:46Imagine going out of the house dressed like this.
26:54Mama's got piles.
26:55Please bring your mannequins forward.
26:57We've got a lot of birds going on, haven't we?
27:00Lucy.
27:01Fantastic.
27:02I love...
27:02I love...
27:03I love...
27:03Genius.
27:09Oh!
27:10I know who my winner is.
27:12You did the audience.
27:13On the first day of Christmas, my true love gave to me, a partridge in a bird tree.
27:19A collection of party clothes transformed into outfits that celebrate the song, The Twelve
27:24Days of Christmas.
27:26Judges, you can take a break from wrapping my fabulous presents.
27:30Come and have a look.
27:31Esme and Patrick having a clue whose outfit's whose.
27:35Well, that's quite a lot of birds.
27:37Ooh la la, yes.
27:39Somebody's geese have been a-laying.
27:41On the third day of Christmas, my true love gave to me, three French hens, two turtledoves,
27:46and a bar catered in a bear tree.
27:49What do you think this is?
27:52Well, I mean, it is very clearly a bird.
27:54Yes, absolutely.
27:55Which of our birds is it?
27:56Is it...
27:57It's not a French hen, because it's got a tartan hat on.
28:00Although the French did like the Scots.
28:02Yes.
28:03Well, maybe it's got bird.
28:05Yeah, I don't remember that one from the rhyme.
28:09It's not the swan.
28:10It's not a geese.
28:12Is it a calling bird?
28:13I don't know.
28:13But I'll tell you what, this hat is brilliantly engineered.
28:18Look how great the fit on that hat is.
28:21The feathered dress has been used to perfection.
28:25I mean, it does look like something you'd wear to a party, doesn't it?
28:29Yeah.
28:29I mean, there's hints of pipers, because they're Scottish.
28:32Is it a bird?
28:33Is it a piper?
28:34Or is it a plane?
28:36On the seventh day, a priest was my true love gave to me.
28:40Seven swanful swinging six, he's a-laying park on.
28:43On the eighth day of Christmas, my true love gave to me.
29:11Eight maids are milking seven, swanful swimming six, he's a-laying park, golden ring.
29:18This is maids are milking, isn't it?
29:20This is the cow that the maids who are milking are milking.
29:23What do you think these are?
29:25The nipples.
29:26I think they call them udders, but we can go with nipples.
29:28I think this is very amusing.
29:31I'm a maid, milking it.
29:34She can't resist.
29:36I think the use of the fabrics here is brilliant.
29:41We've just got a couple of judicious brown spots on our cow, just to signpost it.
29:47I love the little horns, if they are horns.
29:49The udders, I just think, are brilliant.
29:51I mean, this looks like a pair of leggings that have been somewhat crudely manipulated.
29:58Yes.
29:59I've rarely been more amused by anything I've seen in this room.
30:02Moo!
30:03That's the sound effect you need to make whilst wandering around in this costume.
30:08But I'm not going to wear it.
30:10You're a loss.
30:10I'll be wearing it anyway.
30:11This is another bird.
30:22Which bird?
30:24It begins with a G and rhymes with moose.
30:27Goose.
30:27Correct!
30:28That's what I think it is, anyway.
30:30Again, I think it's brilliant use of the feathery party frock.
30:33The beak, the eyes, you get a lot of storytelling there.
30:37Any eggs you can see?
30:38It's not Peter.
30:39No, what about the egg at the back?
30:40What about this egg?
30:42What did you think that was?
30:44I didn't see it.
30:45Doing a golden poo for Christmas.
30:47Yes.
30:48It is laying a golden Christmas egg.
30:51I think there's some really lovely details in this.
30:53It's great.
30:54Pass off to all of you.
30:56This is an absolute Christmas cracker.
30:58I don't think we've seen transformations this good in a long while.
31:03Esme and Patrick will now rank the festive outfits.
31:08Whose will be gifted victory?
31:10And whose goose is cooked?
31:12In fourth place, it's that one with the tartan.
31:19Well, that's Susie's.
31:20We really liked it, but we didn't know what it was.
31:23It's a French hen, but the tartan threw you.
31:26A little beret.
31:27And maybe a string of onions.
31:29Or like carrying a baguette.
31:30Anything French, really.
31:32Merci.
31:33Merci.
31:34In third place is our swan a-swimming.
31:39Tom.
31:40I mean, that is seriously impressive.
31:43Loved it.
31:43It's just amongst a menagerie of other brilliance.
31:46In second place is...
31:48Ow.
31:51That's Lucy's.
31:53Oh my God, I can't believe it.
31:55Did so well.
31:56It's mad.
31:57And that's why we liked it.
31:59I just knew how to make udders.
32:00Sometimes you find your calling in life.
32:03Well done, Lucy.
32:04Which means in first place is our wonderful goose-a-lay-in.
32:08Woo!
32:09That's from Tom.
32:11I mean, it was all a very close run thing.
32:14You've created this wonderful shape,
32:16but the crowning glory is its little egg.
32:20What a day.
32:21What a day.
32:21What a day I could rarely have ever dreamt of.
32:24Yes.
32:24One again.
32:25Sounds too grand, doesn't it?
32:27I just came out on top.
32:29I couldn't believe that I came second.
32:31Don't think I deserved it.
32:33From a technical point of view,
32:34from a novelty point of view,
32:36yeah, I wipe the floor with everybody.
32:38Hello, mate.
32:38Brilliant.
32:39A bit disappointing, I came third.
32:41But, to be fair,
32:42just look at that line-up.
32:43They were just all fantastic.
32:45Every time I hear three French hens,
32:47I'm going to just start wildly screaming.
32:50Or, I don't know, speaking in a Scottish accent.
32:57It's a new day,
33:06and the celebrities must now make garments to fit a model.
33:09Nice to meet you.
33:11How are you?
33:12It's nice to see you.
33:13Whoever shines in this final challenge
33:15could walk away with the Christmas Sewing Bee trophy.
33:19In my head, it looks great,
33:21but whether that actually happens, I have no idea.
33:24Hurry down the journey tonight.
33:28Welcome back, celebrity sewers.
33:30And hello to our fabulous festive models.
33:34So, today's made-to-measure challenge,
33:37the judges would like you to create an outfit
33:39based on your favourite Christmas treat.
33:42Mine would be a hot man wrapped in bacon.
33:46You've got four hours,
33:48and your time starts now.
33:51Put your arms up for me.
33:55If you hold it on your waist,
33:56put it all the way to the ground.
33:57I love food at Christmas.
33:59I cook. It's my job.
34:00I'll do the ham.
34:01Because, you know what I mean,
34:03it's hammer.
34:04I like a soggy Brussels sprout.
34:07But I feel like Christmas is the time
34:09where I'm allowed to,
34:10and no-one's going, ugh.
34:14So, Charmite, why have you picked this challenge?
34:16We all love a Christmas treat.
34:18True.
34:18We've given them complete free reign.
34:20They could dress their model up as a Christmas put,
34:23you know, something that's literal.
34:24Or it could just be something
34:25that takes inspiration from their Christmas treat.
34:28We just want to be able to follow that story.
34:31But they probably never done fitting on the body.
34:35Right.
34:36That's going to be difficult.
34:37Esme, what would be your Christmas treat?
34:40Cherry.
34:41Mmm.
34:42It's quite sweet.
34:44Just like you, Esme.
34:45Sweet and alcoholic, that's what you want, isn't it?
34:53Oh, the fabric's lovely, isn't it?
34:55Yeah.
34:55Right, let's go.
34:57Good morning.
34:58Morning.
34:59What is your treat?
35:00Something that I know is going to be in abundance
35:03in my house at Christmas, which is champagne.
35:06Right.
35:06Champagne.
35:07I wanted to incorporate old Boreham dresses.
35:09Something a little old school.
35:11Lovely.
35:12Anton's aiming for high fashion,
35:14with a dress inspired by a glass
35:16of his wife's favourite festive tipple.
35:18A fishtail skirt represents the base,
35:21while a structured bodice
35:22will mimic the rim of the champagne flute.
35:25The front is going to sit out.
35:27And also, I love all this stuff.
35:29So we're going to use this in the glass
35:31as though it's champagne.
35:32Oh, wow.
35:33It's ambitious,
35:34but I think if you pull it off,
35:36it'll be a knockout.
35:37Hopefully.
35:37Cheers.
35:38Cheers.
35:39Nice.
35:41While Anton plans to toast his victory,
35:44Tom's hoping success will be sweet.
35:46What's your treat?
35:47Gingerbread.
35:48Gingerbread?
35:49Oh, you know, I love gingerbread.
35:50And you've got a ginger wife, haven't you?
35:52I have got a ginger wife.
35:53You love the ginge?
35:53You're ginger.
35:54I know.
35:55Do you know what I mean?
35:55You're my favourite.
35:56Of course.
35:57Yeah, but don't try and eat me,
35:59I won't have it.
36:00The base of Tom's gingerbread-inspired outfit
36:03will be a satin pinafore dress.
36:06Decorations include rick-rack icing,
36:09a candy-stripe belt,
36:11and an assortment of treats.
36:13Plus one final touch.
36:14There's going to be a big boat to win Esme over.
36:17Big boat.
36:17Ready as well, look.
36:18Loves the boat, yeah.
36:19I think it'd suit you, actually.
36:20Do you know what?
36:21It's all yours when it's finished.
36:23Yeah, we'll see how good it is.
36:24You'll know.
36:25Yeah, you'll know.
36:27Right.
36:27Hilariously.
36:29I need a nice pencil to make time.
36:33Come on.
36:38It takes something special to win the sewing bee crown,
36:41and Susan's sewing a design inspired by the after-dinner classic,
36:46Vianetta.
36:47This is a ice dessert that I would have as a kid at Christmas.
36:52My mum would say, serve yourselves,
36:53and we'd be, like, stabbing it,
36:55trying to get it all crunchy and get to the bottom.
36:56Susan's making an asymmetric mini-dress.
37:02With a base of satin,
37:03white and brown organza ruffles
37:05represent the iconic chocolate and vanilla layers.
37:08I'm pleating to create the frilly chocolate.
37:11The key is to not make it look garish.
37:14So it's elevated.
37:16Yes.
37:16It's haute couture.
37:18Absolutely.
37:18Chocolate couture.
37:20Oh.
37:21Chocolat couture.
37:22Chocolat couture.
37:23Yes.
37:23Sure.
37:24Ciao.
37:25While Susan indulges her sweet tooth,
37:28Lucy...
37:28Good morning.
37:30Morning.
37:30...fances something more savoury.
37:32I'm doing blue cheese and onions, pickled onions.
37:35Pickled onions.
37:36That's what I like to eat.
37:36What time of day are you getting stuck into the blue cheese and pickled onions?
37:39Straight away.
37:40Before the presents?
37:41I just mean from December.
37:43Oh.
37:45Lucy's festive cheese dress features blue overlay and pickled onion pearls with a cream cracker
37:51handbag.
37:52Borrowing a style from another era, the dress emulates a wedge of cheese.
37:57The 60s style lends itself to the shape of cheese.
38:00I think the 60s and cheese go hand in hand.
38:02Also, this is very clearly veiny cheese.
38:05It's making me very peckish.
38:07He's going for cheese.
38:08See you.
38:10But attaching the delicate veiny fabric is no mean feat.
38:14The pin coming up.
38:16Mmm.
38:16It's stuck on the pin.
38:18It's so wonky.
38:19I'm going to unpick it.
38:20What a shame.
38:22Although Lucy's cheesed off, the other celebrities...
38:25Careful, I don't ping you.
38:27...are ready for the first fitting.
38:29Yay!
38:29How's that?
38:32It's quite nice, isn't it?
38:32Anton's champagne flute is far from finished.
38:36Tule, this lovely fabric, will sit underneath so it will kick out.
38:40He's adding multiple layers.
38:43Well, I wouldn't expect anything less than this sparkly affair.
38:47I'm doing a little gathering technique.
38:48What we do is you put a couple of rows of stitching in there, pull, and it starts to gather.
38:54We can get a nice champagne effect.
38:57So you love champagne, and who cooks?
38:59Hannah, my wife.
39:00I do topping up and entertainment.
39:02That's my role.
39:02I just bring charisma and a speaker.
39:05That's what I bring.
39:06Then...
39:08Go on.
39:09Yeah.
39:10Go on.
39:12Love that.
39:13You can come round.
39:15I might well.
39:16Might even bring the frock.
39:17Bring the frock for me, I'll have that.
39:19If your wife doesn't want it, of course, you'll be a Hannah.
39:21All right, yeah, sod-er. Sod-Hannah.
39:24Hannah who?
39:24Merry Christmas, Hannah.
39:35Celebrity sorrows!
39:37Halfway!
39:38Oh, wow.
39:39I'm so behind.
39:41While Lucy races to catch up...
39:43Hey, Anton, do you want a quick dance?
39:45The other celebrities...
39:47Five, six, seven...
39:49Are kicking back.
39:50One turn.
39:50One, two, three...
39:53One, two, three...
39:55Add the jump as well and the big finish.
39:57Well, thank you for that.
39:58A showstopper is certainly on Susan's mind.
40:01Couple up there.
40:02I need massive volumous frills.
40:05But bigger isn't always better.
40:08I'm hand sewing.
40:09The decorations.
40:10Look at these big spades of hands.
40:12It's well difficult.
40:14I want lovely show buttons down the middle.
40:16My needle is really getting stuck.
40:18My hands are too big to get behind.
40:19Let me just bring it up a little bit.
40:23Well, that's not even working either.
40:25Tom might be battling buttons,
40:27but Anton has to make an entire glass of champagne.
40:31This is paper pattern.
40:32My flute.
40:34There you are.
40:35He can't see how to create the curve of the glass.
40:39Oh, God.
40:40I don't know what shape.
40:42Let me have a little thing.
40:44And he's not the only one.
40:46I was making a champagne flute,
40:50but maybe the coupe would have a bit more of a effect.
40:54Sorry, my love.
40:55I'll be with you in one second.
40:57What do I want?
41:00Right.
41:01So, I'm basically going with a coupe.
41:07I mean, sure, there's a glue gun somewhere.
41:11Right, I'm catching up.
41:12It's a blue cheese.
41:14I love blue cheese and pickled onion on a cracker.
41:16I once got back from a Christmas party
41:18and sat on the floor by the fridge
41:21and ate a whole wheel of camembert.
41:28Celebrity sewers!
41:32You've got one hour!
41:33Oh, gosh.
41:35I think you'll find Craig will want that back rather soon.
41:38Well, he's not having it.
41:40A little stab on the finger
41:42to join the many.
41:44This is more dangerous than the gladiator is.
41:47Tom has really gone to town
41:49on his gingerbread creation.
41:52I hope he gets it finished.
41:54I'm now sewing ice cream onto my dress.
41:57As we go, there's more and more material,
41:58so it's harder to manage.
41:59Susan's is pretty complicated.
42:01She's got all those layers.
42:03She's actually still got quite a lot left to do.
42:06These look like pickled onions.
42:07I'm just going to use these as decoration.
42:10Lucy reads well as a baby cheese,
42:12and I really like the little pickled onion.
42:14But it's the simplest dress.
42:17What Anton wouldn't give for a simple slice of cheese.
42:21Disaster.
42:22This is looking a bit like a shield at the moment.
42:25Anton's is the most difficult.
42:27It's supposed to be the flute of champagne with the froth.
42:31But, yeah, at the moment it's looking more suit of armour.
42:36It seems that somebody's eaten all the chocolates.
42:41I don't know who it is.
42:43But what I could interest you in
42:45is 30 minutes left.
42:48No.
42:48I'm making a cheese cracker handbag,
42:53which is going to be all the rage.
42:55Everyone's going to want one.
42:57While the girls rush to accessorise...
42:59Headband.
43:00Tom...
43:00Rawr!
43:02..has gone rogue,
43:03ditching his needle
43:04and fixing decorations with glue
43:06and some heavy metal.
43:09This is the great work of an iron.
43:11Right.
43:12Quick kiss on the hammer.
43:14You know.
43:15And we'll get there.
43:16The true gladiator inside of me
43:17has got to come through and take the win.
43:20But Tom's not the only gladiator in the arena.
43:24This is still too shieldy.
43:26Anton's model should fit in at a champagne reception.
43:30Not ancient Rome.
43:31Maybe the sequence could work.
43:33Oh, no.
43:34It's still too much of this, I think.
43:36It looks like Richard of Lionheart.
43:38Right.
43:39Just need glue.
43:40Oh, well.
43:41The gladiator's nearly done.
43:43You know my gladiator name?
43:45Ah!
43:46The spike.
43:47The spike.
43:48How about if we put some of this on the outside?
43:51It's like Chanel.
43:53Let's try and glue the back of that.
43:55Oh!
43:57Disaster.
43:57Snapped.
43:59I need to put this back together.
44:01How much time have we got?
44:02Five minutes, cheeky geese.
44:05Bit of blink.
44:07Do you know what I mean?
44:08Oh, no.
44:09If it falls down.
44:10I'm going to run out of time.
44:10One.
44:11Off.
44:11Two.
44:12Come on.
44:14I'm going to just handle that.
44:15Oh, God, that's stuck.
44:17How long left?
44:17One minute, my naughty little puddings.
44:20Panicking.
44:21Stress.
44:22Oh, no.
44:23There's pinnets going to go through this bunker.
44:25Oh, God.
44:26This could take forever.
44:27What?
44:28Finished.
44:31Nightmare.
44:31Let's see it.
44:33Needles up, sewers.
44:35It's time for the catwalk.
44:37Do I think you're enough?
44:38Ah.
44:40That's cool.
44:41It's actually really cool.
44:42This is Christmas.
44:43Yes, Ben?
44:44Oh, fashion.
44:47Ooh, ooh, ooh.
44:48Fashion.
44:49Ooh, ooh, ooh.
44:50Fashion.
44:50Ooh, ooh, ooh.
44:56Well, I wish it could be Christmas every day.
45:01Work, work, work.
45:03When the kids start singing and the band begins to mend.
45:08Woo!
45:10Beautiful.
45:10I wish it could be Christmas every day.
45:15Yes.
45:16So let the bells ring out for Christmas.
45:22Good job, Big Hammer.
45:24Big Hammer.
45:26Wow.
45:27Loves a bow.
45:29Got bow envy.
45:36It's an absolute triumph.
45:38I mean, it really, really leaps out at me that this is decorated gingerbread.
45:43It's got very strong Hansel and Gretel vibes.
45:46You've managed to pull off this amazing feat of making something that could feel quite novelty
45:52actually feel really fun and chic to wear.
45:55One thing, I just wish you'd put this icing right over the edge.
45:59You've got half straight, half curve, half straight.
46:01And also, did you sew these decorations?
46:05Mm-hmm.
46:05Or did you iron them on?
46:07Stitch some, iron some.
46:09What did you stitch?
46:10Well, I'll look.
46:13There's ironed.
46:15There's ironed.
46:16There's ironed.
46:18There's ironed.
46:19I think they're all ironed.
46:21But I do think it looks like a gingerbread.
46:26And you've got a bow.
46:27Do you like it?
46:28Yeah, I do.
46:29It's great.
46:30Thanks so much.
46:31Well, I love the idea of doing cheese.
46:56I like your pickled onions and I love this fabric.
47:01It's lovely, isn't it?
47:03But it's puckering because this yellow underneath is longer than the top layer.
47:09It is a simple dress, but the storytelling is absolutely bang on.
47:14It's a literal cracker.
47:15It's very distinctly 60s.
47:17The pearl is reflected in the little pearl in the chain and the handle.
47:21There's a brilliant label called Mother of Pearl.
47:22Yeah, alright.
47:23And Amy Powney, who was the designer, that was her sort of signature detail.
47:27She needs to watch out.
47:28She needs to watch out because there are pickled onion silt and dresses coming for her.
47:32It is a treat.
47:34Lovely.
47:34Oh, thank you.
47:35I remember a time when you dressed as a lump of cheese at Christmas.
47:38Wedges of cheese.
47:39Yes, ramenic.
47:40I've still got your cheese costume.
47:42Have you?
47:43Oh.
47:43You're not having it back.
47:45Yeah.
47:47Diamonds are forever.
47:51Hold one up and then caress it.
47:56Touch it, stroke it and then dress it.
48:01I can't see every part.
48:04Nothing hides in the heart to hurt me.
48:10I don't need love.
48:12This perfectly reads glass of champagne.
48:16There's a real elegance to it.
48:18You've got the frothy, what the French call the mousse, frothing over the top of the glass.
48:22I am not 100% convinced by the shape.
48:25It's really hard to make an elegant curve in one piece of material.
48:31You just didn't have the time to do that.
48:33Now, it doesn't take away at all from the fact that it's got tons of impact and tons of elegance.
48:39The fit on the dress is fantastic and the way it moves, that net at the bottom, it's pure sort of Ginger Rogers business.
48:47Absolutely.
48:48I love the frill.
48:49It looks 3D.
48:50That reminds me of the old days, reams of netting.
48:52And we've got all this froth.
48:55You know, I drive my best.
48:57You've got glitter on everywhere.
48:59Yes, in my hands, my clothes.
49:01But I feel comfortable with the glitter.
49:03When I don't have enough glitter on, I feel naked.
49:06Well, it looks great.
49:09Let's go together.
49:13Right now.
49:17Oh, yeah.
49:23It's sweet for me.
49:25Let's go together.
49:29Right now.
49:33Oh, yeah.
49:34Oh, yeah.
49:34Oh, yeah.
49:39I instantly feel like I'm in trouble.
49:45There's one thing I'm going to say.
49:47Let me know.
49:48We've got this piece that's longer than the frill.
49:53Oh, gosh, yeah.
49:54But I think it looks great.
49:56You've done a lot of work.
49:59And how was it, sewing those on?
50:01As a complete sewing novice, that was tough.
50:04Well, you've handled all of these layers amazingly
50:07and left it feeling so light and fluffy.
50:10It manages to feel like very, very elevated evening wear
50:14while still being inspired by a tub of ice cream.
50:18Also, this headpiece, it's a bit like one of those triangle wafers
50:21you get at the top of a sundae.
50:22There we go.
50:23Like, it's the perfect shape.
50:24Oh.
50:25I mean, it's a dessert for the eyes.
50:27It's absolutely brilliant.
50:29Oh, thank you so much.
50:30I think that I did my dessert all the justice in the world.
50:35Like, I looked at it and I felt hungry.
50:38I really like it and I would wear it and I'm going to.
50:41I'm going to take it home.
50:43I was concerned it was looking like a big breastplate,
50:45but we got there in the end.
50:47It'd be lovely to win.
50:48Wouldn't it be lovely to win?
50:50Oh, it'd be so nice to win something.
50:53I am massively like a kid at Christmas.
50:56I cannot wait to find the result out.
50:58Just let me know quickly,
50:59because I need to know if I've won or not.
51:01And if I haven't won, I still think I've won.
51:06There's a lot of fabulous stuff here, isn't there?
51:09I don't think we've had so many amusing and lovely-looking things.
51:13I mean, we've never had others, for a start.
51:16Who's your favourite?
51:17Tom's is brilliant.
51:18Yes.
51:19Told the story, it looked edible.
51:21Also, I love Susan's.
51:24It's absolutely wearable to party.
51:28We came into this morning with Anton having come top of the roost.
51:33You know, he won the pattern, he won the transformation.
51:36Today, he was hugely ambitious.
51:39He handled the dress beautifully.
51:42Bodice piece is a little bit cumbersome.
51:45Tom and Susan are top of the pile.
51:48Yep.
51:48Here, having been slightly below there,
51:53which means they're dead level in my head,
51:56which makes it very difficult.
52:03Celebrity sewers,
52:04you have been absolutely fabulous.
52:08And it has been a wonderful time of year with you.
52:10But there can only be one winner.
52:12So, the winner of the Sewing Bee Christmas Special 2025 is...
52:18And Tom.
52:25Yay!
52:28But all of you, absolutely brilliant.
52:35I'm going to kiss you.
52:36Oh, my God.
52:37Oh, my God.
52:38We've got shot it out later.
52:40Congratulations.
52:41Thank you very much, Steve.
52:42Wonderful.
52:43Well done.
52:43Thank you so much.
52:45I've won.
52:46And I never win.
52:47And I'm absolutely delighted to win.
52:49This is the best thing ever.
52:50This is the happiest day of my life.
52:53You've no idea what this means to me.
52:55Oh, my God.
52:58Merry Christmas.
53:00This trophy is just gorgeous.
53:02I love it.
53:03I'm holding it up.
53:03Don't ask me to put it down.
53:04You want me to do that, don't you?
53:05Be normal.
53:06Absolutely no chance.
53:07Anton reached for the top of the champagne flute.
53:11He didn't quite make it.
53:12But what edged it was his ambition in that final made-to-measure.
53:17He had the perfect day yesterday.
53:22Anton is just incredible.
53:25Attention to detail, flair, showmanship.
53:29I'm thrilled for him.
53:30The children are going to be absolutely over the moon.
53:34Which makes it even more special.
53:36I'm still holding this up, by the way.
53:38I don't know if you've noticed.
53:40I want to go deeper into udders.
53:42Because it came natural to me.
53:44I knew what I was doing.
53:46The very lifelike.
53:48I've not finished with udders.
53:50I'd like to make a full cow.
53:53The last couple of days has really got me in the mood for Christmas.
53:59Such fun.
54:00Being here, being with the other showers, we were like a family.
54:03And it's exactly what Christmas is all about.
54:06All together, all having fun.
54:08And just having the best time ever.
54:10All together, all together, all together, all together, all together, all together, all together, all together, all together, all together, all together, all together, all together, all together, all together, all together, all together, all together, all together, all together, all together, all together, all together, all together, all together, all together, all together, all together, all together, all together, all together, all together, all together, all together, all together, all together, all together, all together, all together, all together, all together, all together, all together, all together, all together, all together, all together, all together, all together, all together, all together, all together, all together, all together, all together.
