00:00I wasn't sure there was going to be a sparring match agreement that we'll spar for a while.
00:06I wasn't sure. I was honest about it. That's why he said it's going to go rounds.
00:09I wasn't sure if there was an understanding that, you know, we'll play a little bit and then we'll
00:15get a little more and, you know, whatever. So that was part of it.
00:20Acknowledge Jake has had double jaw surgery, four plates, eight screws in his face, and everybody is
00:26just kind of breezing past that. Like it's no big deal, but I'm looking further into this because
00:30that's no easy surgery. And I'm starting to ask the question, is this the beginning of the end of
00:35Jake Paul's boxing career? As his brother, I was just shocked. I'm in the hospital with the guy and
00:40he's like, yo, can you make this TikTok? Can you film this for me? He's like laughing and having a
00:44good time. Because I have a new agenda against anti-Joshua, because it feels to me like that
00:48fight, I, I, before the fight, I was refusing to accept the principle that this fight could be
00:53scripted. The boxing world has erupted, saying that Anthony Joshua should be arrested for hurting
00:58Jake Paul in the ring. Experts are furious with AJ as Jake suffered severe injuries, including jaw
01:04fractures that required surgery and screws. They criticized the mismatch, saying Joshua's power and
01:09aggression went beyond what was safe. The fight left fans and pros alike shocked at the level of
01:15damage inflicted, sparking debates on fighter safety and proper matchmaking in high-profile bouts.
01:20Fighting, stay away from the power. You could call it running and you'll be right. You can also say
01:25it's smart for a guy Jake's size and understanding that AJ is a fucking monster. It's also smart to
01:31fight that way. It's not the most aesthetically pleasing. It was not the most engaging for fans.
01:36Analysts Brian Campbell and Shaquille Majuri provided a detailed breakdown of Jake Paul's recent
01:41fight against Anthony Joshua, focusing on both the strategy and the physical toll the bout took on
01:46Paul. They noted that Joshua's power caused significant damage, including serious blows
01:51that ultimately required Jake to undergo jaw surgery. To cope, Paul relied heavily on mobility
01:56and evasive maneuvers, constantly circling the ring to avoid being trapped against the ropes.
02:01While this defensive approach wasn't aggressive, it allowed him to survive more rounds than many
02:06expected against such a formidable opponent. Campbell and Majuri highlighted that Paul's focus on
02:11movement and ring awareness helped preserve his stamina and reduce some of the damage.
02:16But Joshua's overwhelming strength still inflicted visible injuries. The analysts emphasized that
02:21Paul's tactics showcased the importance of defensive planning in boxing, while also underscoring
02:26the risks when fighters face mismatched opponents in high stakes bouts. Or could this be the end for him
02:32in terms of what he's doing in the boxing ring? Listen, so long as people will tune in and so
02:38long as Jake Paul is paid by Netflix or any broadcaster to air his fights, we're going to see this
02:44continue. And Jake Paul knows his business model right now. This deviated this AJ fight, which came together
02:52kind of last minute after the Tank Davis fight fell apart. But we know Jake Paul's MO here. It's find the
02:58most popular guy with the least with the most physical disadvantages for me to fight. And Jake
03:04Paul has the benefit that he's turned himself into a villain or in the pro wrestling circles, a heel
03:10people tune in to what we did not tune into this fight to see competitive boxing. Most of us tuned in
03:16because we thought, here's Anthony Joshua, here's a two time unified heavyweight champion, a guy who
03:22physically just overwhelms Jake Paul. And we're finally going to get what Tyron Woodley and Anderson
03:28Silva, Nate Diaz were not physically fit, whether it be through their size, experience or age to do.
03:35And that is knockout Jake Paul. And so because I don't really feel like we got that satisfying
03:41comeuppance that a lot of people have been waiting for, it kind of gives Jake Paul a little bit of
03:47mystique, I'd almost say, to still try and string this along. Now, I don't know in terms, you know,
03:54he says he wants to be cruiserweight champion. I'm not quite sure what the competitive road there is,
04:00because let's make no mistake, the reason this fight lasted as long as it did is because Jake Paul
04:05focused exclusively on being elusive. He did his best. And kudos to him, right? He did a great job of not
04:11getting cornered. He was always on the gas until the gas sort of fell out from underneath him. And so I don't
04:17quite know, short of leveraging his popularity, how he's going to get to that title shot, if he's not actually
04:23going to fight, like really fight an elite boxer. But if he's looking to make money, there's the KSI.
04:30I fight out there. There's the Tommy Fury rematch. There is ways for Jake Paul to sustain what he's
04:35doing. Former UFC champion Michael Bisping reacted strongly to Jake Paul's crushing defeat against
04:41Anthony Joshua, describing it as a masterclass in professional boxing. He highlighted how completely
04:47outmatched Paul was, emphasizing the precision and power behind Joshua's punches. AJ's combinations
04:53and uppercuts left Paul with virtually no room to move, exposing weaknesses in both his defense
04:58and strategy. Bisping pointed out that the broken jaw and repeated punishment Paul endured were a
05:04result of facing a much bigger, stronger, and more skilled opponent, something Paul had never
05:09encountered at this level. He noted that Paul's bravado and promotional hype couldn't prepare him
05:14for the technical and physical realities of fighting an elite heavyweight. While Paul survived the
05:19rounds, the damage and domination by Joshua underscored the gap between professional elite fighters
05:24and celebrity crossover boxers, Bisping concluded that the fight was a stark lesson in respect,
05:30preparation, and skill in the sport.
05:33In my humble opinion, because I'm a big Anthony Joshua fan. Of course, I've been a supporter for
05:38the longest time. A rather lackluster, unmotivated Anthony Joshua that didn't look like he was being
05:47particularly nasty, right? A lot of the time he was out of range and okay, it is hard to land a shot on
05:54someone that's backing up and moving away the whole time. And there was a lot of times where he had him
05:59in the corner and he could have thrown a shot. And sometimes he was telegraphing his shots. And
06:04anytime he did go in to throw a punch, as I said before, Jay Paul would shoot in and turn it into a
06:10wrestling match. And even when he wasn't shooting in, he was clinching a lot. This is boxing. It's not MMA,
06:16as we know. The referee should have done a much better job of getting in there and separating
06:21them much, much faster. As I say, it was the sixth round. I think it was the fourth round. He got
06:26dropped twice. In the fifth round, he got through it. In the sixth round, caught him with the jab,
06:30glancing my hook. He goes down and that was that. That was all she wrote, right? I did a live. There
06:36was about 9,000 people watching at one point. Nobody was particularly enjoying the matchup. Listen,
06:41okay? I respect both men. I respect anyone really that steps into the ring, okay? And
06:46certainly going up against Anthony Joshua, that was a tall task, okay? You know, metaphorically
06:52and figuratively, right? It was a tall task. It was a big job. It was a tough opponent. It
06:57was a mismatch. And it was, right? Jay Paul never worried Anthony Joshua once. He never rung
07:03his bell. He never caused any damage. He never had him worried. He never did anything. It
07:07wasn't a fight. It was a display of how long can Jake Paul last? Can he run away long enough
07:14for it to be credible? After the blockbuster fight between Jake Paul and Anthony Joshua,
07:20both fighters were reported to earn around $92 million each, making it one of the highest paying
07:25bouts in boxing history, streamed globally on Netflix. However, Joshua's payday faced a massive
07:31hit due to taxes. Being a UK resident fighting in the United States, he is subject to both US
07:37federal taxes and UK international tax obligations, which could take roughly $66 million from his
07:43earnings. This leaves his actual take-home pay much lower than the headline figure suggested.
07:48In contrast, Jake Paul, as a US-based fighter, does not face the additional UK tax burden,
07:54allowing him to keep a larger portion of his earnings despite not winning the fight.
07:58The situation highlights how taxation can drastically affect high-profile international boxing purses
08:03and serves as a reminder that reported earnings often differ significantly from the money fighters
08:08actually receive. Joshua has to pay, as you see here, a whopping $43 million, $43 million
08:22of his $42 million purse. That means Anthony Joshua was left with $49 million.
08:43Right? Now, he also has to pay, I believe, 10% of that to his promoter, Matchroom CEO and promoter
09:00Eddie Hearn.
09:01Dominic Engel gives a brutally honest take on Jake Paul's broken jaw fight against Anthony Joshua.
09:08He explains that Paul's strategy was to avoid engagement rather than stand and trade blows,
09:14which made it difficult for Joshua to corner him effectively. Although Paul took a serious right
09:18hook, he didn't flinch, showing resilience. But Engel notes that Joshua wasn't pushing at full
09:23intensity, having no reason to fully exert himself for an eight-rounder. Jake's experience and level
09:28meant that a full-on attack by Joshua wasn't necessary to control the fight. Engel compares
09:34this to Tyson Fury's performance against Anguanu, noting that even elite boxers don't always look
09:39sharp depending on the opponent. He stresses that sometimes fighters perform at the level dictated
09:44by their opposition rather than their peak ability. When Joshua landed clean shots, Paul felt them.
09:49But overall, he managed to survive without significant danger, highlighting both his defensive
09:54awareness and the controlled nature of the bout.
09:57He's not going to stand and fight. And AJ's not the best at closing people off. And it's hard chasing
10:03somebody down who doesn't want to engage. And then he tagged him every now and again.
10:07So does it look bad on him? Because there's one right hook that he took was a serious shot.
10:12Obviously, he didn't flinch from it. But not really, because you'll take into consideration
10:16that you can get. Look, there'll be no way. Well, Anthony Joshua thought, if he hits me,
10:22there's a possibility he's going to work me. I felt a couple of shots early on in the fight.
10:26There's no way Jake Paul at the level he's at, and who he's barked, and what he's done,
10:31that he's, you know, and it's like AJ, like you say, he's got to have completely gone and be
10:38punch drunk for Jake Paul to beat him. After the last fight against Dubois, people think,
10:44well, his jaw's gone, he can't take a shot. Of course he can take a shot. And he's weighing
10:49up the opposition, and he weighed up the opposition. And he's not going to be training like he trained
10:53for Usyk or for the big fights. He won't do that, because they can't get motivated enough
10:57to do it. They'll do enough to do the rounds. What was it, an eight-rounder?
11:01Yeah.
11:02So, same again. So he did enough. He never looked in any trouble. He didn't look great,
11:08you know, but Tyson Fury didn't look great against Nganou, did he? But who did he box after
11:13Nganou?
11:15So Usyk?
11:16Exactly. But you would have never thought, looking at the performance against Nganou with
11:20Tyson, you would never have thought that he put in the performance he did against Usyk.
11:24So you think it's more of a case of you kind of, no matter how good you are and how much
11:28you train, if your position isn't great, you're sometimes...
11:32Sometimes you're going to box at the level of the opponent, because the opponent makes
11:35you fight at that level.
11:36That's quite a fair thing.
11:37So, but when AJ did do what he got to and manages to land, he got him.
11:44He stresses that surviving against a fighter of Joshua's caliber required courage and resilience,
11:49and the match served as a stark reminder of the physical dangers inherent in boxing,
11:54proving that hype alone cannot prepare someone for elite competition.
11:57Jake Paul's mother shocked the boxing world by threatening Anthony Joshua and Eddie Hearn
12:02after her son's fight. She expressed anger at Hearn, saying she wanted to punch him first
12:07because he sat smiling while Jake struggled in the ring. She criticized both Joshua and Hearn
12:11for not stopping the fight sooner, feeling that her son endured unnecessary punishment.
12:16Her outburst highlights the intense emotions and protectiveness surrounding Jake,
12:21reflecting the real concerns about fighter safety. Fans and analysts noted her reaction
12:25as extreme but understandable, given the brutal nature of the fight and the risks Jake
12:30faced under Joshua's power.
12:32That ring and punch, um, Eddie Hearn, for instance.
12:37Yeah.
12:37Why?
12:38Why Eddie Hearn?
12:38Because I don't like his smug face.
12:40You don't like his smug face?
12:41No.
12:42Literally thinks he's better than everybody in the world.
12:45I said Eddie Hearn's shit-eating Corinne.
12:46I said the exact same thing.
12:48Jake's over there, like, you know, struggling, and he's sitting over there smiling like the cat
12:53who swallowed the canary. Guess what? Did he fucking get in the ring?
12:56Do you think he was happy with what happened to Jake?
12:58Oh, of course.
12:59Yeah, for sure.
12:59Now, this is coming from a mother, too, guys. So I just want y'all to understand. This
13:05is a mom. But at the end of the day, it's his job to laugh. Because I was laughing at
13:11Jake Paul. I can't even lie. I'm not a big Jake Paul fan. But, you know, part of the process.
13:15We got to report on this stuff. But Mama Paul, hella mad.
13:21God, and that's a sick thing to me. It's sick. I don't like it. Even Anthony Joshua had
13:25some class and, you know, apologized to me.
13:38Did he really?
13:39Yeah. He worked his way through the crowd and came up to me and said, Mom, just know it's
13:44just boxing. It's just the fight game. It's just the fight game.
13:47In the aftermath of the fight, the spotlight shifted to Logan Paul, who appeared to confront
13:51and intimidate Anthony Joshua outside the ring. Meanwhile, Jake Paul was shown in the hospital,
13:57visibly in pain and recovering from the brutal knockout that left his jaw fractured.
14:01The contrast between Logan's confident presence and Jake's vulnerable condition highlighted the
14:06harsh realities of stepping into the ring with an elite heavyweight. Fans and analysts alike reacted
14:12to the intensity of the situation, noting that while Logan's actions drew attention,
14:16the real story remained Jake's struggle and the physical toll the fight exacted on him.
14:21AJ, or should I say AJ fighting Logan Paul would be more of a mismatch than Jake Paul. You know what
14:28I mean? Because at least Jake Paul has taken boxing or has trained with real boxing trainers in real
14:36boxes. Whereas Logan Paul, you know, he did that exhibition with Floyd and Floyd's a little guy,
14:43not saying a little guy can't thump because Floyd really gave him some, uh, some, uh, two pieces
14:49with no sides. Right. But at the same time you take his friend, Floyd's friend, Anthony Joshua and get
14:58hit by him and see what happens. The same thing, probably worse because I think Logan, you know,
15:07he's a little taller than Jake. And because he's a little taller than Jake, he may think he's a little
15:13stronger than Jake, which I don't know which one's true or not. I don't think it makes a difference,
15:18but because he may feel that way, he may want to go in there and try to bang it out with AJ.
15:26And if that happens, it's going to be a lot quicker. See that six rounds, it took AJ to finally catch
15:34Jake. It took that way because Jake was on that bicycle moving, being elusive, trying to come in and
15:42then come out. He tried to do a very poor, poor, poor, poor, poor, poor, poor man's Oleksandr Usyk.
15:49Right. And it didn't work for him. Logan ain't going to do that. Logan's going to come in
15:55throwing punches and bunches like he did with Floyd, trying to get him in there and, you know,
16:00do all this stuff. And what's going to happen as soon as AJ lines them up, sets his punch,
16:06he's going to hit Jake and he's going to break Jake down and he may break his jaw or face or
16:13orbital bone or something, nose, something that's going to be broken when it comes down to that.
16:19Chris Algieri and Pauly Malinagi provided a blunt and honest breakdown of Jake Paul's fight against
16:25Anthony Joshua, emphasizing just how devastating the bout was for Paul. They noted that the match
16:30ended with severe consequences, including a jaw broken in two places and lost teeth,
16:35underscoring the physical toll of facing a world-class heavyweight. Both analysts highlighted
16:40that Joshua's power and precision left Paul with little room to maneuver, exposing his defensive
16:45weaknesses. Algieri and Malinagi stressed that this fight served as a stark reminder of the dangers of
16:51stepping into the ring unprepared against elite opposition. Their analysis painted a clear picture
16:56of the brutal reality Paul endured and the lessons for anyone considering similar high-risk matchups.
17:02Yeah, Nganu, he's got balls. Nganu's got balls, man. He went out there and he tried to fight and
17:07tried to win. Jake Paul didn't try to win at any point during the fight. He was just trying to
17:10survive. And I think that's actually ultimately going to hurt him with boxing fans.
17:16What do you think, Pauly? I mean, you talked about the in-and-out kind of style,
17:19kind of hits and runs. And you said that, A, it runs out your legs. He was exhausted a couple
17:24rounds into the fight. And B, it only saved him for so long.
17:28He doesn't have the boxing skills to box on the move anyway. Once I saw the big ring,
17:33I knew he was going to run for his life. When you're that much of a novice, which obviously,
17:38it's not even an insult to him. It's just lack of experience. But when you're that much of a
17:42novice, you either know how to run for your life or fight all out. You don't have that in-between
17:47yet. You haven't developed enough of that in-between boxing acumen to really pull that off. And so what
17:53ends up happening? You're either going to fight your ass off and you'll last a minute.
17:57Chris, you're being generous round two. He would have gotten knocked down round one if he would
18:01have fought. But at least he would have fought. He would have gotten the respect of the people.
18:04And more importantly, the boxing community instead of these clowns that follow him and
18:08are still defending him. Now what happens is he didn't get any respect as a fighter. He didn't
18:13get any respect as a fighter because he didn't try to fight at all. I was watching that through
18:18two, three rounds. I'm thinking to myself, this guy would do this for eight rounds if he can.
18:21If he can do this for eight rounds, absolutely not fight at all. Absolutely not engage a single time in
18:26eight rounds. He will actually do this. And he'll do it shamelessly. And that's the problem.
18:31That's the problem. The shamelessness of his approach to the fight. You're going to be a
18:35fighter. Then don't make an ass out of the whole sport, out of the whole business and out of
18:39yourself first and foremost. Because in the end, what happens? You got his jaw broke anyway.
18:44So what ends up happening? What's the worst that's going to happen? You're going to get hurt?
18:46You're going to get knocked out? You got hurt and you got knocked out anyway. But you just
18:49prolong the inevitable and you got no respect out of it now. Because nobody's respecting that kind of
18:53performance. Nobody's respecting a performance where you would totally content to steal money
18:58from everyone by running for your life for eight rounds. And if you could have not engaged a single
19:03time in eight rounds, that's what he was trying to do. He was trying to pull that off shamelessly.
19:08That's it for today's video. Stay tuned until next time.
