00:00He has had no real professional opponents other than Tommy Fury that were legitimate world-class boxers.
00:09The problem is he was like a famous kid, and then no one took him seriously.
00:14You just will never be a good fighter, so I wish that I could have knocked him out at the start, but as we saw...
00:21Me like sparring when I watched it, which, you know, look, I paid for it, they got me.
00:27I thought it was going to be a real fight.
00:29You know, but me, I'm going to speak my mind, and I'm just going to keep it 100, man.
00:34Jake Paul is fugazi. He's fake.
00:36That's how you feel?
00:37Truly feel. I'll bust him up and his trainer in the same night.
00:41Two for one.
00:42Joe Rogan reacts in shock as Anthony Joshua reveals Jake Paul pushed for a scripted bout.
00:47Joshua says he agreed only to a real fight with real risk.
00:51Rogan notes how Paul's past wins face accusations of choreography and compliant opponents.
00:56Those victories, critics argue, padded records and rankings, boosting title talk without elite competition,
01:03leaving fans questioning legitimacy and intent behind the spectacle and fueling debate across sports circles.
01:09He's wealthy. You know, like you would assume that wealth would take away your drive for competition.
01:13But it hasn't, yeah.
01:15He's also nuts, right?
01:17Just the fact that he's willing to fight the two-time heavyweight champion, former Olympic gold medalist.
01:22A guy who's gigantic in his pride, built like a Greek god, and he's a one-punch killer.
01:30Joe Rogan says the fight looked more like a controlled sparring session than a dangerous war.
01:34He explains that while the bout had moments of tension, it never reached a level where serious damage seemed likely.
01:41Rogan adds that boxing can turn ugly very fast, so seeing both fighters walk away without major injuries is a positive outcome.
01:48He stresses that safety matters more than hype and is glad no one took heavy shots that could have lasting consequences.
01:55Bite and he was going to get hurt.
01:56You've known him for a long time. I've known him for a long time.
01:59I love that dude.
01:59Me too.
02:00Chael Sonnen says the situation simply does not make sense when looked at logically.
02:04He explains that a fighter with only 11 professional bouts should not be standing across the ring from an experienced Olympic medalist.
02:11In Sonnen's view, the gap in skill, experience, and ring IQ is far too wide to ignore.
02:16He also points out that the weight difference makes the matchup even harder to believe,
02:20as the more seasoned fighter was not only outside Jake Paul's usual competition level, but also naturally heavier.
02:27Sonnen argues that in real competitive boxing, commissions and trainers would never allow such a pairing under normal circumstances.
02:34To him, the matchup raises serious questions about authenticity and intent.
02:38He suggests that when fights ignore basic sporting logic, fans are right to doubt whether everything unfolding in the ring is genuinely competitive,
02:45or designed mainly for attention and promotion rather than true sport.
02:49If I'm cheering for Jake, or if I think that Joshua is more experienced or better, I believe in boxing.
02:55I believe boxing is real.
02:58If boxing is an actual sport, if it is an actual sweet science, then of course a guy that's done it 11 times cannot compete with the Olympic champion.
03:08Of course, this is before you get size in there, before you get professional world titles in there.
03:18A guy that's done this 11 times cannot go into the Olympic Games and medal.
03:22If boxing, in fact, should be believed in.
03:25I was with Portnoy.
03:26I liked it.
03:26I liked how he said that.
03:28You know, that's how I feel too.
03:30Because I'm also cheering for Jake Paul.
03:31But I get it.
03:32I know we're not going to win tonight.
03:33But that's a compliment to boxing.
03:40And it is very hard for people to digest that Anthony Joshua can't cut him off.
03:44He can't find him.
03:44He can't do anything with that reach.
03:46He can't go out there and rush him.
03:47He can't throw this kid in a corner and beat him up.
03:50That is disappointing to me.
03:51That is baffling to me.
03:53As an MMA guy, I will just share with you that would not be a problem at all.
03:58At all.
03:59If a guy's running away from me, it would be absolutely no problem.
04:03And you can put the boundaries at the city line.
04:05You can put it at the state line.
04:06I will track him down.
04:08I will put him somewhere.
04:09And I will beat the dog out of him.
04:12So in a ring, I get where that is really disappointing.
04:18I get it.
04:18But it doesn't change the fact that that's what happened.
04:20And then Joshua, by the way, has the right to turn to some other things.
04:24Well, I'm saying he ought to cut him off ground, throw him in the corner, go beat him up.
04:27Well, I'm saying that.
04:28Joshua has the right to come.
04:29I could feel some stuff.
04:30I knew it was going to come my way.
04:31For Joshua to say, well, I had the experience.
04:33And yeah, he was moving.
04:34And yeah, I could have cut him off a little different.
04:36But I didn't mind the way this was going.
04:38I didn't mind that he was running.
04:39I knew he would slow down.
04:40I knew he would come to me eventually.
04:41Like for that to be Joshua's mindset is fair play.
04:46Joe Rogan points out that Jake Paul has always wanted to prove himself as a real fighter,
04:51taking on opponents in the ring and showing he can handle genuine competition.
04:55He emphasizes that Jake thrives when he faces fighters and challenges that are real,
04:59not scripted or fixed.
05:01But this time, stepping up against Anthony Joshua, the scale of the fight is on a completely different
05:06level.
05:07Rogan notes that because Jake has never faced someone of Joshua's size and power before,
05:11it's impossible to know his true stamina or how he would hold up in a full, intense
05:15bout against an equally big and experienced opponent.
05:19He stresses that while Jake has proven skill and speed, the question of endurance and resilience
05:23against top tier heavyweights remains unanswered, leaving fans curious but uncertain.
05:28When we expect Jake Paul to be fighting like higher level competition, it's not because
05:34he has under 10 fights because he talks a lot of shit.
05:39Yeah, but that's also why we're talking about him.
05:40And that's that's exactly true.
05:42But I think on both sides of the equation, we've got to like admit that a young fighter
05:47under five fights isn't fighting great competition.
05:49So if you're calling Jake Paul a legitimate boxer, and then you're expecting him to do
05:55what legitimate boxers do, I'm not sure he's not doing that and probably more.
06:01That's what I'm saying about the knockout of Tyron Woodley, because it was just a regular
06:04boxer who's just coming up.
06:06And what does he have, six fights?
06:07Yes.
06:08Tim Bradley openly calls out Jake Paul, saying he is fake and that his fights lack genuine
06:13competition.
06:14He emphasizes that Paul's matches often appear orchestrated, with opponents seemingly following
06:18a script, rather than engaging in real competitive boxing.
06:22Bradley criticizes how these staged outcomes have helped Jake build a record that exaggerates
06:26his abilities.
06:27He warns fans not to be misled by the spectacle, noting that while the events are entertaining,
06:33they do not reflect true boxing skill or risk.
06:35According to Bradley, Paul's approach undermines the integrity of the sport and sets a misleading
06:40example for aspiring fighters.
06:42Paper.
06:42But I can't knock you for, I can't knock your hustle when you've built something outside
06:47of boxing and you say, hey yo, I'm coming over here to the sport now and I'm going to
06:52pick and choose who I fight.
06:53Y'all come follow me.
06:55If they follow him, man, I just understand what it is.
06:58I know what I'm looking at.
06:59You're not going to fool me over here, save that stuff for them other people, because I'm
07:02not going to believe that I'm the face of, no, you're not the face of boxing.
07:05I'm not giving you that because that's for a lifer.
07:08But that's what he believes.
07:09That's cool, I can't knock him for that.
07:10People believe a lot of things for a lot of different reasons.
07:12I'm just saying, you can do all the rah-rah stuff, that's your business.
07:17But I just know what I'm looking at, right?
07:20But on the monetary side and it being an event, the truth is that when he does fight, it does
07:27bring attention around the sport.
07:29People debate, they argue, people want to see the fight.
07:33Is it legit?
07:34Is it him and Mike Tyson?
07:35No, it's an event.
07:37That's what it is.
07:38Daniel Cormier praised Jake Paul for his bravery in stepping into the ring with Anthony Joshua,
07:43acknowledging the significant risk involved.
07:45While he initially joked that anyone would fight for $100 million, he recognized the courage
07:50required to face a seasoned heavyweight after previously fighting much lighter opponents.
07:55Cormier highlighted Paul's athleticism and skill, noting how his movement and strategy
08:00allowed him to avoid heavy damage from Joshua's powerful shots.
08:03He explained that constantly moving and dodging takes a toll on energy, yet Paul managed to
08:08last against an elite opponent.
08:10Cormier compared the challenge to wrestling dynamics, emphasizing the repeated effort and
08:15resilience required each time a fighter is knocked down or pressured.
08:19He concluded that Paul's performance demonstrated boldness, adaptability, and commitment, showing
08:25that despite controversy over his career and past opponents, he approached this fight with
08:29respect and courage for the sport and his opponent.
08:32Cormier take on that fight.
08:33What were your thoughts on that?
08:34I thought Jake Paul was a brave guy.
08:37Then I found out he made $100 million.
08:39I was thinking, well, anybody would fight for $100 million.
08:42But bro, I literally ran into Logan Paul in New York City and I said to him, it was weird
08:48too, because I was going into a studio to interview Kamaru Usman for one of my shows.
08:56And Logan Paul was at the coffee shop.
09:00He's like, did you see?
09:01I was like, what's up, Logan?
09:02Because he does a tremendous job at WWE.
09:04Yeah, Logan Paul does.
09:06I don't watch WWE, but I know that he might literally be the best professional wrestler
09:10in the world.
09:11Really?
09:12He's such an athlete, bro.
09:13Yeah.
09:13He's unbelievable.
09:15But I...
09:16I'm kind of stroking him right now.
09:17I swear to God.
09:19Bro, it's unbelievable how good the kid is.
09:21Okay.
09:21From the moment he started doing it, he was really good.
09:24He didn't cut a promo, huh?
09:25He made up with a kid.
09:26He's got a promo, but he's also good in the rate.
09:29Okay.
09:30He's really athletic.
09:31Um...
09:32I said to him, I go, what type of safeguards do you have in place to make sure he doesn't
09:38get his head knocked off against Anthony Joshua?
09:41He's going to fight Gervonta Davis.
09:43I know.
09:43Who weighed in at 137 two fights ago.
09:46So now you're going to go fight Anthony Joshua, who weighs all the 250?
09:50He said, all right.
09:51He said, he's going to just fight him.
09:53I go, man, he's very bold.
09:54And then what happened was he ran a lot.
09:58Yeah.
09:58Here's the thing.
09:59Everybody goes, even Ebi Hearn goes, he did better than Francis.
10:03I'm like, well, Francis didn't move around much.
10:06Francis thought he could actually fight him because of what he did to Tyson Fury.
10:11Right?
10:12Couldn't.
10:13Tyson Fury might have overlooked him a little bit.
10:16And I think that's what happened.
10:17Like, he got caught with the right hand drop.
10:19Anthony Joshua was like, I'm not taking any chances with this guy.
10:22So he fought him and he took him serious.
10:24But Francis didn't move.
10:26Jake did a good job of moving around for a long time.
10:29But all that moving costs energy.
10:33Right?
10:34I mean, I used to spar with Robert Guerrero here in Gilwood.
10:36Yep.
10:37And I would go in and spar with him.
10:38I'd tell people that I would spar with him for his first four rounds.
10:41He would do 12 rounds.
10:42Yep.
10:42He would use me as his warm-up rounds.
10:44Yep.
10:44And I was in fight shape.
10:45He wouldn't go in spot shape unless I was ready to fight.
10:48I got two or three weeks out from my head.
10:49Yeah, yeah, yeah.
10:50I was ready to fight.
10:51And by the fourth round, I was fucking exhausted.
10:54Exhausted.
10:55And he would just make me miss.
10:56You know, if you miss more, it's a night work.
10:58It makes you more tired.
10:59It's messy when you're throwing big punches like Jake was throwing.
11:02Yeah.
11:02And then wrestling.
11:03He's like shooting double-lays and shit.
11:05He looked like Dillard Daniels.
11:06Oh, we're sick.
11:07It's right.
11:08All that wrestling was crazy, you know.
11:09I was like, bro, I have the other in my life seen that much wrestling in boxing, man.
11:14It was Dillard Daniels, Logan Paul, all over again.
11:16Every time he would fall, but every time he would fall, you got to get up.
11:20Yep.
11:20Every time you shoot, you got to get up.
11:22It makes you more tired.
11:23It's a shame.
11:23I mean, and Anthony Johnson was 250 problems.
11:27Eddie Hearn reflected calmly on the recent clash between Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul,
11:33offering insight into how the fight played out.
11:35He emphasized that the strategy had always been clear.
11:38Maintain patience, control the pace, and gradually wear Paul down before securing a decisive finish.
11:44Hearn highlighted that this approach was designed to minimize unnecessary risks while still asserting dominance in the ring.
11:50According to him, everything unfolded according to plan, showcasing both Joshua's discipline and the effectiveness of a measured game plan over impulsive aggression.
12:00This careful execution, he suggested, allowed the fight to proceed safely while still delivering the tension and excitement fans expected.
12:06Break him down.
12:07He said before the fight, I'm going to break him down, and then I'm going to knock him out.
12:12And that's exactly what he did.
12:14I didn't.
12:14I thought it would be all over within three rounds.
12:17But, you know, when I got in the ring after, because I was shouting, just, you know, anywhere.
12:23I got in, he went, what are you rushing me for?
12:25And I was like, oh, sorry, sorry.
12:26So, but, like, obviously he knows what he's doing.
12:29And, actually, now, quite pleased that we got the rounds, to be honest.
12:33Yeah, I saw you said that.
12:34Really random, I was on Twitter, and I saw Jake Paul's mom said she wants to get in the ring and punch you.
12:39She said she doesn't like the smug look on your face.
12:41She is promoting her book, so I'm not sure if she wants, you know.
12:45But did you see that?
12:45What did you think of that?
12:46No, I was very sad, because I've actually, I couldn't have been nicer and more respectful of Jake and what he's done.
12:53And I think Logan's amazing.
12:54I think he's an incredible athlete.
12:56And I shook Jake Paul's dad's hand in the ring, you know.
13:00And if I would have seen mum, I would have said, all right.
13:02But we've, I think over the years, we've obviously had our beef, and she probably don't like me anyway.
13:08And I am probably a little bit smug.
13:10I wasn't smug after the fight, because I would have been more smug if it was all over and around.
13:17So, no, I give Jake respect.
13:20And, yeah, sorry Jake's mum doesn't like me.
13:24But if she can send me a free book, that would be fantastic.
13:28Meanwhile, Duke McKenzie provided a more analytical perspective, grounded in years of experience.
13:34He explained that his critique was informed by technical knowledge rather than personal bias, giving weight to his observations.
13:41McKenzie argued that the outcome itself was highly revealing, making extensive commentary almost unnecessary.
13:46He focused on how Joshua's composure and tactical superiority were evident throughout, pointing out that the fight's results reflected the disparity in experience and skill without exaggeration.
13:57For him, the fight was a textbook example of a seasoned boxer imposing strategy and discipline over a less experienced opponent.
14:05It reminded me of like, you know like when you've got a fly on the windscreen, and you're trying to swat it, and you're trying to swat it, and you miss, and you keep tapping, and then eventually, bang, you get it.
14:16That's exactly what that fight was.
14:18Jake Paul didn't get in there to win last night, he got in there to survive.
14:21And he didn't do a better job with surviving.
14:24He sold the fight brilliantly.
14:26That's what he is, he's a salesman.
14:27And he's a YouTuber, influencer, call him whatever you want.
14:32So, from that perspective, he did his job, but he never got in there to win.
14:37He just got in there to get beat up, and glad Don't You Need Joshua had done a number on him.
14:42This is why boxers are boxers, YouTubers, whatever they want to call themselves, influencers, you know.
14:50So, they should stay in their lane, and fight people that they're supposed to fight on their level.
14:56This guy was never on Anthony Joshua's level, and Joshua did what he needed to do.
15:01Did what he had to do for the sake of boxing, and blow this guy out, and just knock him out.
15:08What about the fact that Jake was able to land on him clean a couple of times?
15:13What did you make of that?
15:16Listen, you can't get into the water without getting hit.
15:18Fortunately for Joshua, that guy can't break an egg.
15:22So, he was never in any danger.
15:24You know, he was always going to get hit back.
15:26I mean, you know, it was six rounds.
15:29Anthony Joshua was always going to take at least one or two shots over that six-round period.
15:33But it was nothing to hurt him.
15:35It was nothing to bother him.
15:36And, like I say, this is all about getting AJ's confidence back.
15:39If Jake Paul fights, if he fights KSI or KFC or whatever his name is, then those two are evenly matched, aren't they?
15:52They're evenly matched.
15:54And then they could fight, you know, because they're evenly matched.
15:59They're both YouTubers, aren't they?
16:00They should get that on.
16:01Lawrence Osweke approached the bout from a slightly different angle, emphasizing the inherent dangers of boxing.
16:07He reminded viewers that in the ring, a single mistake can dramatically alter the course of a fight, regardless of a fighter's fame, preparation, or promotional hype.
16:16Osweke's analysis focused on the risk and unpredictability of the sport, highlighting that even a momentary lapse in concentration can have severe consequences.
16:25His observations served as a reminder that boxing is not just entertainment.
16:29It is a high-stakes contest where careful planning and respect for the sport's dangers are essential.
16:35The public and media reaction to the fight also sparked significant discussion.
16:39Well done to Jake for surviving, but he wasn't trying to win.
16:42Every once in a while in between running, you would throw a wish.
16:45Hope it would land and do some damage.
16:48He was just hoping that Santa would come early and give him a present, a gift from the god.
16:53There's a reason in the jungle that a gazelle sometimes outruns a cheetah, the fastest animal, because fear makes you survive.
17:00But unfortunately, this baby gazelle ran out of steam.
17:03For AJ, it was like a light sparring session.
17:06You could say he didn't fear anything coming back.
17:08After the fight, he looked like he'd been for a light jog.
17:11AJ knew the constant pressure was breaking him down,
17:13because trust me, when you've got a guy who can punch, stalking you, it's tiring.
17:18Because you can't switch off one mistake and you could end up asleep.
17:22AJ's a massive puncher.
17:24Even the punches that weren't landing clean were doing damage.
17:27Any heavyweight landing in 10-ounce gloves isn't fun.
17:31Again, credit to Jake.
17:32He got dropped, but he kept getting back up.
17:34That big head is durable.
17:37Did Jake do what he said he was going to do?
17:39No.
17:39He's a businessman.
17:41He sells the dream.
17:42At no stage did he really try to win.
17:44It was a bank robbery in broad daylight.
17:46On paper, he shouldn't have been there.
17:48He got in and kind of give it a go.
17:50He risked his life for the fans' entertainment.
17:53Was it brave or stupidity?
17:55Well, regardless, I still think he's been great for boxing, bringing new eyes to the sport.
17:59Just look what he's done for female boxing.
18:02The undercard was female heavy, giving them opportunity, giving them a platform.
18:06Personally, I think it's great.
18:08For Jake Paul, the fight was a win-win.
18:10Once he's healed up, he can come again.
18:12But next time, fight someone at your level, light heavyweight or cruiserweight.
18:17And he did show heart.
18:18And I did see some improvement, despite the fact he was mainly running.
18:22He did show good movement and decent defense.
18:24People saying it's embarrassing for AJ.
18:27No, it's not.
18:28He just got his best and easiest payday.
18:30He can laugh his way to the bank.
18:32Nobody can honestly say if they were AJ, given the opportunity, they wouldn't take it.
18:37Come on, AJ.
18:37I'm bigging you up.
18:38Lend me a bit.
18:39Luke Thomas emerged as one of the most vocal critics of the widespread praise Jake Paul received following the match.
18:46Thomas argued that much of the excitement surrounding the bout was overstated,
18:50pointing out that the narrative exaggerated Paul's accomplishments while minimizing Joshua's strategic dominance.
18:55His perspective emphasized the importance of evaluating fights with a clear understanding of skill, experience, and risk,
19:02rather than being swept up by hype and spectacle.
19:05The combination of careful strategic planning by Joshua, technical analysis from experts like McKenzie,
19:11and commentary on the sport's dangers from Osweiki creates a comprehensive understanding of why the fight unfolded as it did.
19:17Him surviving kind of feeds into the story of him being perhaps a little bit better than we sometimes think,
19:23although I don't really co-sign on that.
19:25Let me make the point.
19:26The first point is I think people are overreacting a little bit.
19:32A little bit.
19:33People were suggesting when I got on social media that this was like the biggest farce they'd ever seen in their life,
19:39and this was how could he fight like this, and this was a disaster, and Joshua should have got him out there earlier.
19:45There is probably some evidence to suggest that Joshua, I don't think Joshua was carrying him in the sense of,
19:51hey, they coordinated this ahead of time.
19:53But was Joshua really stepping on the gas?
19:55No, I don't think he was really stepping on the gas.
19:57There were times I think he clearly pulled his punches, partly because Jake was squirmy and rotating on the outside.
