00:00Precisely in this context, let's recall that in Honduras, on Wednesday, the National Electoral
00:04Council officially declared National Party's right-wing candidate, Nasri Azfura, as president
00:10of the country amid a context marked by several denouncements of irregularities in the electoral
00:16process. Warnings about the violation of democracy in the elections began days before the November
00:2230th election day, when a series of audio recordings revealed the implementation of
00:27fraud mechanisms to benefit the political right. Added to this was U.S. interference of
00:33President Donald Trump that launched a campaign focused on directing votes towards candidate
00:39Nasri Azfura. In the aftermath of Election Day, the ballot counting process has been riddled
00:45by allegations of violations in the results for admission system. However, despite evidence
00:51showing the intention to carry out an electoral coup in the country, the electoral authority
00:56issued the official results without complying with the citizens' demands for a vote-by-boat
01:03count or addressing the challenges presented.
