The second day of the Thailand-Cambodia General Border Committee secretariat meeting was held at the Thai side of the border in Chanthaburi province on Dec 25, with about 30 delegates from each side engaged in the peace talks.

00:00Thai and Cambodian officials held their committee secretariat meeting for the second consecutive
00:08day on Thursday to discuss peace at their disputed border.
00:13About 30 delegates from each side engaged in the peace talks in a bid to end fighting
00:18between both militaries.
00:20The Cambodian Ministry of National Defense had said that the General Border Committee
00:24secretariat meeting started at 9.05 a.m.
00:28The two sides reportedly continued in-depth discussions to ensure the cessation of hostilities
00:34and find solutions to restore stability between the two neighbors.
00:38The Ministry said another meeting will be held on Saturday.
00:43After signing the Kuala Lumpur peace accord in October, Thai and Cambodian forces resumed
00:48clashes at the border on Dec. 7, with both sides accusing each other of violating the truce.
00:58More than one hundred civilians have been killed and hundreds of thousands evacuated due to
01:03the fighting.
01:06This resident living in Thailand's Uban Ratchathani province said there were intermittent exchanges
01:11of fire in the area.
01:14Reports said that Thai and Cambodian forces battled for nine days over the Mountain 677, which is
01:20a strategic high ground along the frontier.
01:23The Thai Defense Ministry said, if the preliminary discussions proceed smoothly, they will be
01:28followed by a meeting between the defense ministers of both countries.
