00:15Scheduled for Monday, the meeting is expected to give both countries the chance to negotiate
00:20directly, resolve differences peacefully, and work towards a fair and lasting solution.
00:27In a Facebook post on Sunday, Anwar said he has been in contact with the Prime Ministers
00:31of Cambodia and Thailand to exchange views and discuss the best way forward in addressing
00:36the situation.
00:38He added that it is important for both nations to uphold dialogue, wisdom and mutual respect
00:44to ease tensions and safeguard peace and stability in the region.
00:48Anwar also stressed that continued engagement and constructive communication are key to regional
00:54security and maintaining ASEAN unity.
00:57The two countries are currently involved in renewed border skirmishes, despite signing
01:02the KL Peace Accord in October.
01:05The accord was later suspended by Thailand in November after its soldiers were injured by
01:09landmines along the border.
