00:00But the one thing that always has a little pride and joy in my heart

00:03when we talk about this spread line, it's Cal and Hawaii.

00:05It's a rite of passage.

00:06It's Christmas Eve.

00:07There's not much going on.

00:08But you know what?

00:09The state of Hawaii is going to tell you football is going on tonight,

00:12which it is.

00:13Cal versus Hawaii.

00:14And look at these lines, Joe.

00:15The 3.5 at the opening number for Cal switched over down to a favorite

00:18for Hawaii at minus 1.5, a total of 55.5.

00:21Some windy conditions has it down to 50.5 tonight.

00:24This is one of those ball games I give special dispensation to.

00:28Cal Hawaii, it's tonight, Joe.

00:30What's your spread line?

00:32Well, it's a great.

00:33You're right, Donnie.

00:34It is a tradition, right?

00:35And you've got to love this because it's also the only game on the board here

00:40tonight.

00:41But when you think of Hawaii and you think of games in Hawaii,

00:45you tend to think of the over, Donnie, right?

00:48Because that's usually where our mind goes first is that, hey,

00:52there's going to be points.

00:53Why?

00:53Well, because, well, Hawaii, the only thing they do is throw the ball.

00:57And they throw it a lot, Donnie.

00:59I think they throw it the highest rate of any team in college football.

01:03Here's the problem.

01:04We've seen nothing but under money hit the board here, Donnie.

01:07This thing opened up 55, 55.5.

01:11And now all of a sudden we're down to what, 50.5?

01:14Yeah.

01:15That is a huge drop for a game in Hawaii.

01:17Number one, you're going to have a lot of wind in Honolulu here later today

01:21when this game is going on.

01:22And number two, Donnie, you also have the team, Hawaii's leading receiver,

01:28the guy that caught and was responsible for over 65% of the catches and the

01:34yards gained via the pass game.

01:35He's out.

01:36He's opting out.

01:37So he's not playing in this game,

01:39which means the rest of the receivers who didn't get a ton of action this

01:43year are going to be seeing action in this game,

01:46which if it's one thing Cal did good all year long, it was defend the pass.

01:51They're not very good at running the ball,

01:53but they did defend the pass very well.

01:56The problem, Hawaii refuses to run the ball.

01:59So if you're looking at that number and going, wow, that seems low, you're right.

02:03But it's low for a reason.

02:05I wouldn't expect a big high scoring shoot them out kind of game here tonight.
