00:00I mean, James Madison did cover this one on the backdoor,
00:03but Oregon in no stretch of any imagination
00:06did we think we're going to lose, okay?
00:08So what do you think moving forward here, Bill?
00:10Is this the right system?
00:11Because I think that's what everyone's talking about.
00:13Can we have blowouts like this in prime time?
00:16Not if you're going to watch.
00:18Not if you're going to watch the Ole Miss game
00:20that was over probably 10 minutes in.
00:22I think one of the problems,
00:24the group of five has had four playoff games.
00:26They've lost those games by an average
00:28of 21 and a half points per game.
00:30So they haven't been overly competitive.
00:32And you're sitting there wondering,
00:33okay, if Notre Dame were playing Ole Miss
00:35or if Texas were playing Oregon,
00:38would these be more entertaining?
00:39Yes.
00:40I still think the group of five should have one team in.
00:44I do.
00:44And especially when we go to 16,
00:46but I would still get rid of automatic qualifiers.
00:48That way we wouldn't have had two teams in.
00:51Had that been the case this year,
00:53James Madison would have been out.
00:54Notre Dame would have been in.
00:56And I think the level of complaints
00:57in the suggestion box
00:58for the college football playoff committee
01:00would have been far diminished
01:01were that the case.
