On Tuesday, a private plane carrying senior Libyan military officials and crew members crashed in Türkiye, leaving no survivors. Among the victims was Lieutenant General Mohammad al-Haddad, Chief of Staff of the Libyan Army, along with four other top officers returning from an official visit. Turkish Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya confirmed that the wreckage was found in the Haymana district, south of Ankara, after the aircraft lost contact minutes following an emergency signal indicating a possible forced landing. Authorities from both Türkiye and Libya have opened investigations into the cause of the accident, which represents a significant loss for the Libyan armed forces and their stabilization process.
