00:00All right welcome back let's talk about cars so you're looking at the ultra
00:04luxury sedan out of Huawei and I guess in terms of just relevance right it's
00:10become the top selling car above 100,000 US dollars in China it's beating out
00:16brands like Porsche Mercedes-Benz it's built as a rival to a Rolls-Royce or
00:20even a Bentley and it comes with features such as auto parking crystal
00:25buttons if ever you think you needed to complete your life with something like
00:28that joining us here instead to talk about the car the prospects what people
00:33are saying about this and could this actually have more a longer road ahead
00:38no pun intended or pun intended Linda Liu is here with us our Asia transport
00:41reporter can you just ask you to begin with how do you pronounce the name of
00:46this so I can say S800 but how do you pronounce the other one yes so I think
00:52it's pronounced Huawei Mike Stro which is a play on the word maestro
00:57yes yes with an X yes okay how much does it go for so starts from 700,000
01:06Yuan and in China yep and clearly it's doing well talk to us about demand it's
01:11doing very well I think not a lot of people expected it to kind of run out of
01:16the gate it was only launched half a year ago and now is already out selling the
01:23Porsche Panamera as well as the BMW 7 series essentially it's top the sales
01:29chart for luxury sedans that's priced at a hundred thousand US dollars and above
01:34and that's something that no other Chinese brand has done before for mass
01:40market brands like BYD and Tesla you see them really driving this transition to
01:44EVs but the luxury segment was where the legacy brands still had a lot of power
01:50yeah okay so the we're looking at we mentioned that Rolls-Royce Porsche even
01:55the Maybach for example it's still quite a bit in terms of the price though for me
01:58so what how is this being marketed as an ultra luxury car and talk to us about the
02:07target market of this car because you go from a Panamera to this specific sedan to a
02:12Maybach those are almost completely different sets of buyers if you will yeah
02:16that is true I would say the Panamera may be a little bit more sporty whereas the
02:22Maybach is more for business executives okay so I think the mic store probably
02:28targets itself to similar market segment as the Maybach so business executives in
02:36China and especially people who are wanting to try new things but still enjoy those
02:42touches of luxury so you get the top of the line Huawei technology in this car the most
02:48advanced driving assistance technology you have auto parking the doors are open themselves and the
02:55windows will tense when you just wave your hands inside so this really kind of futuristic
03:01technology that's been added to a car that still has a lot of the conventional premium touches you
03:07still would see in the Rolls-Royce yeah and there's also a door handle
