Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky says Ukraine and the United States are making progress on a major package of security guarantees and an economic recovery plan following talks in Miami.
According to Zelensky a 20-point framework is nearly finalised, with separate bilateral security guarantees for US consideration, about 90% of military-critical annexes have been agreed, and a draft recovery treaty has also been prepared.
Zelensky criticized Russia’s refusal of a Christmas truce, warning of potential strikes during the holiday period, and confirmed that Russian forces captured a border village in Sumy, taking dozens of residents and 13 Ukrainian soldiers prisoner.
