00:13I'm Nicole Paige Brooks from Atlanta, Georgia.

00:15Welcome to Scroll Patrol.

00:17We're going to be looking at some of my old photos.

00:21Going through my phone and seeing what I should have deleted.

00:26You know what we haven't talked about?

00:32Atlanta's the best.

00:33We have southern food and southern hospitality.

00:36We have the nice southern weather.

00:37It's not going to be too cold, not going to be too hot.

00:39Well, it can get hot.

00:40No matter what you're looking for, we got it in Atlanta.

00:44The best thing about Atlanta's drag scene is it's so diverse.

00:48And we have all the national titles there.

00:50We brought every national title back there, even Drag Race.

00:54So you don't just have to come to L.A. to see a rude girl.

00:57We have just the best drag there.

00:59We have all kinds of drag there.

01:00Any kind of drag you want to see.

01:01We got camp.

01:02We got avant-garde.

01:03We got all the drag there.

01:06I've worked at every bar in Atlanta.

01:08I don't really have a home bar.

01:10Shawna's at the Eagle, so I always like to work at the Eagle.

01:12I like to work at Lore.

01:14City Winery is a great space, but that's not really a gay bar.

01:17The Heretic has the stars of the century, so we like that.

01:20Blake's, I've worked there.

01:22Mary's, over in East Atlanta, I've worked there.

01:26But usually I just go to the square.

01:28That's my spot.

01:29So we go over to the Oscars.

01:30Destiny has a show over at Oscars.

01:32Shawna has a show over at Eagle.

01:33And then I used to do a show over at Felix's.

01:35Right now in Atlanta, we don't have like a stage except Lips,

01:40which is bridal showers and stuff like that.

01:42That's not really a gay audience.

01:44But that's what's really missing in Atlanta.

01:46It's like Backstreet, there was a stage,

01:48and that's kind of where I grew up was on a stage.

01:51So I really like that kind of environment.

01:54We don't really have that right now in Atlanta.

01:56It's a lot of in-the-round performances.

01:59Everything's changing.

02:01You know, the bar scene is changing because you can get everything online.

02:04You can find a husband online.

02:05You can get your food online.

02:06You can get your drag online.

02:07So, I mean, that's why we're losing a lot of the gay establishments.

02:11And that's why you have to go out to see the shows and support your local drag.

02:14Because I still feel like I'm local drag in Atlanta.

02:16You know what I mean?

02:17Atlanta has kept me afloat my whole drag career.

02:20So I've always considered myself a local Atlanta queen.

02:24And it's just sad that there's not as many places as there used to be

02:27for even new queens to even get their start because the bars are closing.

02:31So go out to the club.

02:34The club. Go to the club.

02:36If you come to Atlanta, I will tell you,

02:38and a lot of people do that message me and they're like,

02:41We're coming to Atlanta. Where are you going to be?

02:42And if I'm out of town, I'm like,

02:43I'm not going to be there, but you can go to these places.

02:45Miss V is my cab driver.

02:47I've had the same cab driver for like 25 years.

02:50So you would get your cab ride with Miss V.

02:53And let her know what time you think you want to leave and go home.

02:57And she will text you at that time.

02:58And you'll be like, no, give me another hour.

03:00I would start out, have dinner at Campanella right there on the corner of 10th and Piedmont.

03:05Walk over to Blake's for your first little cocktail.

03:08And then have Miss V pick you up there, take you over to the square.

03:11So you can see the show with Shauna at 9 o'clock.

03:14And then it's the eagle.

03:16So it gets a little rah-rah after dark, you know.

03:19So if you're that kind of vibe, then you can just stay at the eagle.

03:22If you want more of a crazier party vibe, that's Felix's.

03:26And if you want more of a martini vibe, then you go over to Oscars.

03:30But that's where you would end up in that parking lot.

03:33And if you drove, your car is safe there.

03:36Do not drive home.

03:37Call Miss V or an Uber.

03:39And she'll get you home safe.

03:40And then, where do you go for brunch?

03:44I mean, there's a drag brunch everywhere now in Atlanta.

03:46There's drag brunches all over the place.

03:47Go find you a good old drag brunch.

03:49And then walk around Piedmont Park.

03:51If it's not too hot, you can always see some sissies in Piedmont Park.

03:54And that's the kind of gay center right there, Piedmont Park, Midtown.

03:58So you can just hang out in Midtown, wander around there.

04:00Our zoo is really cute, too.

04:02My favorite restaurant, though, is the Fire Pit,

04:05which is over by the cemetery, which is also a cool place.

04:09You can go get your pizza from Fire Pit,

04:11walk over and have a little picnic in the cemetery,

04:14which is like a historic cemetery, like all the famous,

04:17I guess they're probably not good people,

04:20Confederates or whatever were born there.

04:22But I mean, buried there.

04:24You're eating pizza at the cemetery?

04:26Yes.

04:27No, I don't.

04:28Well, I did not eat pizza in that cemetery.

04:31I had a picnic in that cemetery with an ex.

04:36We weren't eating pizza.

04:38We did have some mushrooms, probably, though.

04:40We're not on a pizza, though.

04:43Yeah, hang out in the cemetery.

04:45Like, they're also good for running, too.

04:47You go run around the cemetery.

04:48There's no people there.

04:49So, like, you know, if I go running in the park,

04:52it can be a meet-and-greet situation sometimes.

04:55So, but if you go running in a cemetery,

04:57ain't nobody there.

04:58They're dead.

04:59But yeah, I love Atlanta.

05:01We can go out in Atlanta any day of the week,

05:03and you will have a good time with me.

05:05I promise.
