00:00Notre Dame dropped 56 points on Purdue and while the Irish offense looks electric the
00:09defense is still a major concern the alarming thing for me is this is the stuff that the nine
00:17months of the offseason are for I don't think those are in season fixes these seem like
00:21schematic issues Arkansas is going to be a real test a couple things I wrote down details matter
00:32and everything we do we know it we're here every day we know the good the bad the issue so we gotta
00:41attack and fix it we better stay together that's the thing that'll make this thing crumble that's
00:48the thing that would never wavered in my first four years here the belief the belief in each
00:54other and the belief in what we're doing if we allow that to happen watch out I don't have no answer
00:59but you know I'll run to the fire coming in this season we know it's a target on our backs you
01:06know bigger than ever it's Notre Dame so every game is the other team's Super Bowl but this year it's a
01:12little different the target is bigger and you know every week we gonna have to come with our best
01:17I need you guys to do this I don't care if it's defense versus freedom I need you to do this
01:24right I'd rather you all hate me which ain't gonna happen then to spread apart I learned
01:30through experience I've been through the fire with you bro I know it we're gonna see if everybody's
01:36going to fight all right because if you're not you'll get exposed around here you'll stick out bad
01:41I don't care if you're a coach or a player you make excuses you can stick out through preparation yeah
01:45that's how you're gonna change it the way we prepare but you stayed yeah this man that's what
01:51matters yeah this nothing more important to me than that cool all right we gotta go
01:57for the first time in program history Notre Dame has made the trip to Arkansas where they have a date
02:11with the Razorbacks this morning the loser today is not gonna be in a good spot I always say man in
02:18order to win the moment you must be in the moment right you can't win this moment if your mind somewhere
02:24else be right here let the past go I always remind you that there's something better ahead of us
02:30ahead of us the atmosphere of just any road game especially one on college campus is different
02:39especially in the SEC
02:42there's a big energy to it and it's just it's fun to be a part of
02:45second and goal car takes the shotgun snap looking to throw to love catches line of scrimmage spins out
02:51of a tackle on the five and he walks in what a move by love busts a pair of ankles and the irish have
02:59their second touchdown of the game that boy's a bad boy he is a bad boy though hey hey really really
03:08really really car between the hashes claps for the football and wants to throw looking left now
03:13scanning back over the middle has Pauling at the five catches and walks in untouched and will Pauling
03:19has his first touchdown with Notre Dame coming out and and punching people in the mouth is like the
03:25statement we got to make back is the wall it's playoffs here from now on left to love he's got
03:31a catch and a convoy cuts inside of the 10 here comes the speed and loves in touchdown Notre Dame
03:38hands it off to love makes one man miss stays on his feet for the goal line he's in again
03:43his fourth of the day
03:47one goal in every single game as we were still hungry and humble swings it out to price who
03:51catches at the 40 down at the 25 breaks the tackle inside the 20 he's gonna do it he's in another
03:57touchdown and the route is on in arkansas
04:03it doesn't matter the opponent we're coming out here to prove that we're one of the best in the
04:06country and should be in the fight to the very end and the irish come on the road into sec country and
04:14lay the smack down on arkansas that's the kind of victory that can get you back on track
04:22this is just a small example of how good this team could be
04:25we just it's just a taste man it's just a taste but we got to commit to continue to do the things
04:30it takes the elevator one two three here comes the irish hell yeah
04:46i love sometimes to be doubted
05:02you never want to be behind the sticks you never want to be 0-2 to start the season but
05:07competitors love to compete
05:13when our backs are against the wall it's time to go fight and i always say there's two options
05:19fight or flight and they know which option their head coach is going to take all right boys let's roll
05:29ready let's roll man let's roll all right a little bit of arkansas recap all right team glory man
05:36hell of a job huh hell of a job all right you know the discomfort especially for the defense last
05:46week right is there to help you grow it's pain it is it's this uncomfortable right it's there to help
05:53you grow to make the pain go away well we can't lose that that's why it's so much harder in my opinion
06:02to handle success it's harder to handle success in adversity because you wouldn't be here if you
06:07weren't a fighter you wouldn't be here it's too hard to get to this level but when you have success
06:15you lose that discomfort everybody feels good right everybody it feels good to win it should
06:24because you guys work really hard but you lose that just natural discomfort
06:29that gives you that fight or flight mentality that gives you that that motivation to go to work
06:35so keep the pain know how we felt being oh and two sitting in this room know how we felt right
06:43but it's not always that fear right i always remind you keep the pain right because that will scare us
06:50away from feeling too good we know we're not there yet we're not there yet we got ways to go
06:56those bumps that might be a little bit smaller right now but we got need because we got room
06:59to grow everybody good let's go to work tgs on two one two ready have a good day all right
07:08come on boy let's go to work you hear me come on everything matters rob have a good day all right
07:14the last few weeks we've been playing a lot of good football uh offensively so i think we just
07:23got to keep this thing rolling i think you can't take any opponent lightly let's go game reps game
07:28reps game reps attack them attack them attack them good anytime a team gets to come in to notre
07:33game and play us here at our home fields it's it's their super bowl essentially we're going to get their
07:37best shot this is our game reps man we ain't getting many game reps this is game reps let's go baby
07:45yes sir
08:02this wide receiver room that we have is really special man it's uh really fun to work with them
08:07uh you got a room full of guys that are really really hungry oh we gotta have this one now
08:11you know they make my job so much easier just keep a little bit of depth on your motion
08:20the way jg and fazan ended the year last year was something that is really exciting
08:27and then we got transfers coming in here with will pauling malachi fields dangerous that's that's the
08:34the right word for them is dangerous taking inside release first press
08:38my freshman year i early enrolled at cincinnati so i was there for my freshman year and my sophomore
08:45year at the end of 2022 i transferred to wisconsin i played two years there and now i'm going into
08:51my fifth year i transferred here in the beginning of 2025 so now i'm on my fifth year every single
08:56time think about get to the near point you're still i knew that will would be a great addition
09:00to our room just because not only is a really good football player but more importantly man he's a
09:04great leader everything's just different here the people are different being here has been a blessing
09:13for me in so many different ways all right man let's pray it up dear lord i just want to thank you
09:18for waking us up this morning giving us the chance to get better each day and you know be with our
09:23brothers while playing the sport we love in jesus name we pray amen amen appreciate you matt hydrate
09:30eat rest recover repeat tds
09:53all right all right uh so there is meatballs and a couple of them in here some shrimp and then this
10:02is all like bread mm mm mm mm hey my bad jg man i feel bad calling you this morning man what happened
10:14no i wouldn't i had to call him that was a question oh my gosh he's like oh yeah
10:22it's like nine o'clock i'm like all right everybody probably awake it's nine you know
10:27when you said that mean like nine is like earth like late for me like nah bro i don't even think
10:33i could sleep till nine having all the receivers over to my personal home is uh really important i think
10:40it's important for us to bond i think it's important for the guys to see me outside of just
10:45being coach brown so you're getting ready for that real room i've been my linkedin game i've been on
10:51linkedin like crazy dude you're almost there bro i'm on linkedin like crazy i've known will pauling
10:58since he was about 16 years old we started recruiting him i first saw him at a camp up at north
11:04central college i was at the university of cincinnati at that time will you play quarterback yeah all
11:09we growing up yeah i am the receiver to my sophomore year high school i played three
11:13shades in my freshman year who was it who was it oh my god oh my god it's bad it's bad it's like
11:24we're about to run these cards man y'all ever play what do you mean yeah will and i we've gotten
11:30pretty close off the field it's been around you know my family and uh we built a great relationship
11:35with with the whole pauling family so um it's been really really fun uh just kind of reuniting with
11:40him here at notre dame wait do i pick do i get a new one now that i said i lost one or do we pick
11:44a new one every round well you have to be funny because being hot isn't an option coach brown's
11:51somebody that uh i really look up to and that i admire and i think something that kind of stands
11:56out to me even more now is like he's not even he's more like family to me than a coach now just
12:01because we've known each other for so long and i think it goes so much further past football when
12:05you stage an elaborate from proposal in front of the whole school and she says no
12:13you know rarely do we ever talk about football or anything like that um it's all about what's
12:18going on in their lives or you know there's some type of competitive juices that get flowing in some
12:22kind of some way form or fashion so it's always fun to see those guys kind of in their element and
12:28seeing how they interact with each other you know outside of the football field is always really
12:31fun when you walk into your emo child's room and they're throwing darts at the family photo
12:42sir
12:58just this week was focused on putting it life's changed a lot since my football school being married
13:14our wedding was may 25th sunday memorial day weekend
13:21i picked the easiest date that he could remember 5 25 25 yeah during our vows they were like
13:27is eli gonna cry all my bridesmaids were asking that i'm like honestly i don't think so i think
13:31he's sort of just gonna like freeze i was extremely nervous i'm kind of used to playing in front of
13:38a lot of people now but the wedding day was a bigger deal the attention solely on you rather than a team
13:47he has raritan connects with him at the five and there's nobody in front of him eli raritan walks in for
13:55another irish touchdown it's extremely meaningful to play here
14:04it's been a lifelong dream
14:06raritan's there back left corner he caught it diving catch is made by eli raritan touchdown notre dame
14:17i definitely try to remind myself that you know this is everything i've ever wanted
14:20since being a young kid my dad played here from 2002 to 2006
14:32had me in 2004 my mom was still in high school
14:37she packed her bags brought me along we moved to south bend and i lived here for the first two years
14:41of my life i've heard stories my dad bringing me in the goog and hanging out and all that it's part of my
14:47blood my grandpa coached here my great uncle went here it's super cool that it's come full circle you
14:55know um as a kid i always would pray to be tall enough to play college football be big enough to
15:01be another damn football player i remember scott being a young dad and having a son and just kind
15:08of lost track of it after a while you didn't think okay who is that son going to turn into down the road
15:14and he's turned into a pretty good tight end my dad's honestly kind of quiet but he's such an
15:21awesome example to look at as a husband and the way he approaches life the way he's treated my mom the
15:27way he handled being a young husband and young parent i really look up to and it's a big reason why i got
15:34married young it really inspired me to you know follow in his footsteps i think it's really cool like
15:41when his family comes it's like a full circle moment they're like this is where we used to live and
15:47like this is what we would do i was sent a couple pictures from when i was a baby and one of them
15:52was me waiting on the walk waiting to see my dad and so we kind of put that together like now i'm the
16:00one walking seeing my dad it's kind of cool right now i have the honor to introduce somebody very
16:19special to me the doctor founder and executive director of where we are today the black student
16:27athlete summit can you guys put your hands together and make some noise for dr leonard moore good morning
16:35everybody you're doing okay things you need to know about me number one i'm married to an amazing
16:40woman right here uh thais bassmore been married 24 years three kids jocelyn that's my oldest that's my
16:46mini me you know she's just finished at north texas that's lauren she's at jackson state my alma mater
16:52and that's my son leonard he's at notre dame the black student athlete summit is pretty much something
16:58that my dad started with a group of his colleagues at the university of texas and initially it started
17:03just to you know provide more opportunities for these black athletes that might have needed some
17:07help in the professional field but now it's grown it started like 70 and they've grown it's like over
17:12a thousand athletes so it's a beautiful weekend to go see people that look like you but in professional
17:17positions and who can help you it's where you actually want to be in life all right i want
17:23y'all to look at this right quick we're going to spend a little bit of time here this is my high
17:26school transcript student athletes in general but black student athletes more specifically are nobody
17:31expects anything from them in the classroom zero you know i think athletes are super duper smart i
17:37finished 535 out of 633 in my graduating class are y'all like what yes finished with a gpa of 1.683
17:46these guys can go on the field and execute these plays at a high level in front of 100 000 people
17:51watching in front of millions watching on tv and they perform flawlessly so the question is if you
17:58can do that against alabama or georgia or against texas why can't you do it in the econ class or chemistry
18:04class the only academic course i got higher than a cn was african american history because i knew at 12 or
18:1113 that's the only thing i really loved the part that i love about it is how they help with the
18:16mental health of the student because i feel like so often that's overlooked because the student feels
18:21like they're this grand person on campus everybody either looks up to them or or looks down on them
18:27because they're the athlete y'all are gifted y'all are talented but here they're loved on their worries
18:34and the pressures that they have to deal with they can share them and i just want to encourage you
18:39the journey is great we started this off with 70 people but we didn't care about numbers we cared
18:44about the quality of the experience because we had a crazy idea that we could make this thing happen
18:50i think it's cool for the athletes as well it's cool for my dad because like he's been helping all
18:54these other people with there and all these other athletes but i think it's cool for him to see his
18:59son finally get to that stage it's just so wonderful how the two things collided the black student
19:05athlete summit along with my son's career he's been at the summit his whole life
19:11he was easy child to raise very wise he just wanted to play
19:29he's a low-key guy me and him are different i'm kind of intense it's this quietness that he has
19:39he observes a lot but he handles business what makes leonard moore i mean the best db in the nation
19:47just different his mindset is different his body's different everything is different about the kid
19:52he's only scratching the surface like he's only going to continue to get better and continue to
19:59grow and become really the best corner in the country last year at the louisville game when he
20:06ran down tyler shook first down and 10 from the seven it's a run play blown up no it's a fake shuck faking
20:13in the backfield and he's on the run
20:21i was sitting next to my wife and i said did your son just do that
20:27and notre dame takes over that's when my wife said okay we think he's ready for the moment and whatever
20:33the rest of the season brings he's very mature for his age he is very instinctual on the field and
20:40understands what's about to happen to him he's just a special person all around
20:55he's been raised with confidence competitiveness
21:05i'd say from the beginning he's loved football
21:10he played on the flag football team when he was like three and he gave it his all
21:15i remember man just on saturday mornings how excited i would be my wife would be he would be
21:26he wanted to win and he wanted to compete
21:33oh okay he's good like he has there's something here
21:37you wanted him to be able to live a normal life and not make him feel like something's wrong with him
21:54when he was about three years old he was at daycare so we got a call that he fell out on the floor he
22:00started shaking and rattling he went unconscious and she said okay something happened i mean he said
22:06leonard's breathing he's still not okay but he's breathing and so um that was the first sign we
22:12knew anything was wrong we went to the pediatrician and then we referred to the neurologist
22:19test results finally came back with abnormal electric activity on the left side of his brain
22:25and that's when they said this is epilepsy
22:29they didn't tell me a lot to be honest i think that's how they helped me navigate through it they
22:38told me obviously like that i was having seizures and stuff like that but they always made sure i felt
22:44like i don't know i wasn't different than nobody else and that there was nothing really wrong with me
22:50there's nothing he could do about it you know it wasn't something he could control
22:54he starts seizing which means like he goes unconscious um he starts shaking his eyes are
23:04rolling back in his head and the thing was if he seized over 45 minutes they told us that he could be
23:11brain dead it is the worst possible thing you could watch
23:17one night me and my wife we were in the bed and i started hearing like a quack sound like a dolphin
23:26like what is that and um it was him making a noise and it just freaks you out it looks like somebody
23:34is physically about to die it was probably like 1 a.m my girls you know they're in the bed next
23:42to him and they're looking down and crying and it takes a minute for the ambulance to get there they
23:48inserted medications into his rectum and it didn't stop the seizure and normally that will stop it but
23:55it didn't stop this one so they went ahead and put him in the emergency vehicle it's like a 30 minute
24:01drive he sees the whole way to the hospital they rush him into this room and they kind of shut the
24:11curtain in front of us they didn't want us to see and it's like what are they doing to our son
24:16and will our son be the Leonard that we know when they come here to get us so he sees probably like
24:24an hour and a half and just that fear of like
24:33sorry so we're just praying that whole time and then he came out of it
24:42when i wake up in the hospital i know obviously sometimes i would feel bad for
24:46the stuff my family had to see because i don't want them to have to worry about me i think that
24:50was just scary for him to see forgot all their names stuff like that didn't know who i was
24:55it puts man a lot of stuff in perspective when you see your son in that situation you know um it's
25:02agonizing to watch and i think any parent you know seeing a son or daughter go through that be like
25:08you know god let that happen to me let let them be okay you know you have to really enjoy every
25:18moment that you have because you never know when it's going to be the last
25:20first
25:21after several seizures and after doing the ekgs and them diagnosing him with epilepsy they put him
25:29on the medication and then over some time they recognized there was no more abnormal brain
25:36activity in his left side and they said i think he's grown out of it i honestly don't really worry
25:43that something could happen i i've been told that there's risks based on how much sugar i eat or
25:47something like that if that i could come back but i think i i'm able to live like carefree not carefree
25:53but just not worried about that stuff and then over time when like maybe even a year or two when you
26:00saw that he was fine then you could kind of like breathe a little bit um and so i i did i started
26:11breathing and trusting that he was okay you ready to kill it yeah i got to they got like fast receivers
26:19than slide so they try to get in the ball quick yeah and make you miss ah okay don't go he still plays
26:25football and and you know as a mother you're just like concerned and you know he's done with seizures
26:34but at the same time like you never want something to reactivate it looking forward to tomorrow's game
26:39man thank you the seizures created a fear around him losing his life oh you excited ain't you man
26:47do your thing tomorrow man thank you do your thing man proud of you for sure so to see him where he is
26:54now it's like all of that stuff couldn't stop him it tried but he is fulfilling his purpose and he
27:00will continue to do that and we will just continue to trust that he's in god's hands heavenly father
27:06lord we thank you for lamb we thank you for the young man he's become lord we ask prayer from tomorrow
27:11as it takes the field keep him healthy keep all his teammates healthy lord let him play at his
27:14maximum ability jesus name we pray amen amen amen
27:24is notre dame done the answer is no
27:31the problem for notre dame is that there's no margin whatsoever
27:36they do have to run the table they're gonna have to run out 10 straight victories
27:42just gotta make sure that our mindset is there man there's more to us there's more to this team
27:46and they want to say is this like like last year where you guys get well in the moment you don't
27:53know you're rolling you look back and say oh man we went 13 straight no it's work man it's the intentional
28:03work oh it was rough week that doesn't mean we gotta i gotta yell and scream and coaches gotta yell and
28:10scream you guys gotta go nuts but it's work it's work that helps us improve you know i think we are
28:19um a confident group that believes in how good we can be we know there's more out there for us but this
28:26group is is starting to gain some momentum and confidence and uh we have to use that as we go into this week of preparation
28:34like hard work is reported man in life and in the game of football you know so keep challenging ourselves
28:42and challenge each other now we gotta come we that's that's who we gotta be as a team because if we're all
28:47like that in the time we have watch watch where this team can go you guys are playing well but you gotta
28:53keep leading the way you guys are leading lead your rooms lead yourselves lead the team proud of you guys
29:00good
29:10go irish let's hear those whistles take it away
29:30visiting the band was just an amazing experience
29:44they're extremely smart kids they're they're very active they're fun to be around and they're
30:03physically just one like one big family it's like we're one big team not just the the football team
30:06the players but really the band as a whole first of all we want to thank you guys thank you all for
30:12what you bring to our program and the hard work that each and every one of you put in
30:16to putting on the performance that you guys do trust me you guys are as part of
30:22what we do as much as the players we're here to thank you and to pass out some book bags i know you
30:27guys are finishing up some preparation but your presence will be felt and uh we're looking forward
30:31to it all right thank you guys for all this thank you so much for coming in today i have to ask have
30:41any of you ever played an instrument before let them know what you play uh i was a member of the band
30:50for five years and i played trombone
30:59growing up my parents really wanted us to be well-rounded and diverse and so part of that was being in the
31:06band on fourth grade you had the opportunity to choose an instrument if you're choosing all my
31:13brothers played the trombone so it kind of came natural when we had our family one what do you play
31:18what do i play yes piccolo couldn't play that but i can't play the trombone hey you know what we got
31:24our strengths we got our strengths we have our strengths playing trombone was just uh kind of
31:29part of me growing up uh something i love to do oh good luck yes can i get one of course come on
31:35yes come on yes community i love it hey thank you thank you man thank you yes let's go i still have
31:43a fascination and just i'm kind of a fan of their work as uh as a football players and be able to see
31:49them throughout the game and see the songs they play and the hardware they put it is just really cool to
31:53be a part of yep thank you so much no you guys do a better job trust me love the man love the man all in
32:02a lot of times they'll come up to you so like we're big fans or we love the football team but
32:05like i love you guys like you guys are just as cool as we are here we go there's the missiles
32:27it's super cool because it just feels like i'm still one of them so it brought a smile to my face
32:35all right let's line up you want to do c symbols want to do c you want to do c we're going to start
32:59from spocker we're going to try and get c in and do any subsection leaders want anything beyond c my
33:09name is wolfie erhart i'm a senior at notre dame and i'm the section leader and center snare of the
33:13notre dame drumline four taps and then we're in on right here we're about to go to midnight drummer

33:35it's something that started in 2000 the drum line said you know would be cool if we were kind of the
33:48kickoff to football activities on saturday so why don't we do this midnight drum circle how was it so
33:58good yeah awesome good everyone have light up sticks it just grew and grew it wasn't just students
34:05showing up it was fans showing up i start to feel the butterflies and get amped up knowing that there's
34:11just hundreds of people out there waiting to see us perform the midnight drum circle just means
34:15everything for the football weekend we have this phrase victory begins at midnight
34:28this is really telling of how we want to set off the football day and the
34:45just energy and atmosphere we want to start this day with just come and hype everyone up
34:49to prepare ourselves for a football day tomorrow
34:50these football days are special we want to start it right we want to start it early
34:58just to show them how we do irish football
35:13let's go irish let's go irish let's go irish
35:20let's go irish
35:43and now the
35:48victory mark
35:56the college football season has arrived in the month of october and notre dame is back home to begin a
36:05three game homestand
36:15what a beautiful sight to behold today on irish wear green day notre dame is green tops and bottoms of the gold helmets
36:27it's kind of been just something that unites the student body unites the crowd unites the team i know
36:37our players like to wear a different jersey
36:44the guys love the green and then running out the tunnel to see the whole
36:47all the whole fans are everybody's in green everybody's cheering so uh it was definitely a cool environment
36:55wearing the green is definitely super special to us when we hold it dearly and want to protect the sanctity of it
37:00look at the jersey
37:02but we don't care if we're wearing t-shirts in the parking lot we'll play whoever wherever
37:13let's go
37:16it's here it's here it's here enjoy it
37:20right enjoy this thing man you worked so hard for this opportunity
37:24just stay locked in on the moment and we'll become a consistent football team
37:33this is what delayed gratification is about you work your ass off here's the reward
37:39go be the best and go get team glory everything you got sacrifice for each other and let's grasp
37:48let's go
37:54second and seven love gets the carry running right cuts back left now he has some space across midfield
38:00here he comes into boise territory all the way down to the 30-yard line what a run by jeremiah
38:06love great vision and then puts on the jets for 36 yards
38:13four receivers set two each way for carr as he stands in the shotgun claps the football and looks to
38:19throw cj carr looks like goes left up top for the end zone touchdown when you see the ball up there
38:25coming right at you like all right it's going to be on the money you just got to go and make a play
38:29see that does a great job of just trusting us to go make those plays and putting us in situations
38:42where we can go out and be great just an nfl throw from cj carr a laser right to left
38:49uh that was perfect wow that's an unbelievable throw
38:58cj has a lot of confidence in his arm
39:04it was a great throw and great catch and it was a great start cj carr takes the snap here comes a
39:09blitz throws far sideline caught by malachi fields at the 30 spins out of a tackle all the way up to
39:14the 40 22 yards from car to fields malachi fields is a guy that should have been here for four years
39:20huge third and five here curious to see what happens if they don't get it he just fits this
39:24place he's an unbelievable talent car throws on a comeback complete at the 18-yard line at the sticks
39:29he's driving the legs and he's got the first down up to the 16-yard line bringing in two veteran guys
39:35brings a lot of experience me and malachi have done a good job of kind of instilling ourselves
39:39in the room as leaders and i think guys gravitate towards us because we handle our business on the
39:43field long legging stammering in the ground to get across the line to game what a play
39:51ninth play of the drive coming for notre dame they line up at the shotgun
39:55love gets the carry up the middle and he's into the end zone untouched notre dame's back in front
40:02with their second touchdown of the game touchdowns are stacking up for love
40:07that is nine now on the season that was the easiest touchdown i think i've seen jeremiah love score
40:13i mean he's keeping nobody touched it
40:17appeared to me like marcus streamer was probably going to send the offense back out there yeah go for
40:22two shotgun snap coming for car
40:26he'll roll to his right looking to throw on the run wide open pulling catches near the front right
40:34pylon and the two-point try is good and notre dame will take a lead into the halftime locker room
40:42they've got the ball to start the second half okay this drive determines what game's going to look
40:53like okay they're over there feeling pretty good i'll be in down seven points right now we got that
40:58just get your job done do exactly what you're supposed to do on that play
41:04they're going to get the ball they're a confident team it's 14 to 7 defense you got to go out there
41:08shut them down right now all right d let's go let's go let's go here we go dgs on two one two
41:19the improvement of the defense comes from within the coaching staff and players among us here at
41:25notre dame we have a set standard that doesn't falter to anybody regardless if you're a captain or a
41:29freshman this defense is playing at a high level good job d way to keep battling madson's going to play
41:36fake and look to throw and it's picked off leonard moore intercepted at the 36.
41:44leonard's a special player he's a rare of talent there's a confidence you have in it
41:50he can always play man-to-man coverage and know he's going to get his job done
41:54and that's the defense we've been waiting to see for five weeks there's no magical formula
42:01you have to work you have to prepare you've got to practice hard
42:08that's what we focused on the outcome has been better on saturdays but the focus has been the
42:12preparation car from the shotgun looking her fields it goes up in the end zone he caught it
42:19touchdown notre dame malachi fields wins the one-on-one jump ball and the irish lead by two
42:27scores we call them 50 50 balls but really when you're throwing to malachi it's more like 80 20
42:32like you're confident he's going to come down with those balls perfect timing perfect route by malachi
42:38fields when you play with the fire in the belly you get points on the ball closing out in the home
42:45stay down with the win it always feels good price gets it running right cuts inside
42:53and janarian price is still on his feet still going one guy the beat and he takes him out touchdown notre
43:02day
43:17you try to cherish those moments to cherish those hours that you have when you know that you put
43:23a lot of work in to achieve that desired outcome and you you achieved it
43:26third down and 10 for mattson pressured again throws under more
43:33on the sideline brought it in it's his second interception of the day
43:38and he caps off an outstanding afternoon for the irish defense hey victory
43:48the score does not reflect the intensity physicality and domination of notre dame on
43:55both sides of the football today remarkable effort there's going to be a lot of movement coming
44:00up here over the weeks yep just stay the course and we'll see where the chips fall
44:10you get to hold your head up a little higher on campus
44:14you have bigger smile on your face you perform in front of your best friends on the dorm or your
44:17family that came up to the game you protected your home
44:23that's why you work so hard to enjoy this thing and everybody should feel a part of this thing i don't
44:30care if you've never stepped on the field damon or if you played every snap if you give your all to
44:35this place in the week of preparation man you better be as proud as anybody else all right we know there's
44:41capacity guys there's more room enjoy this thing all right we appreciate it i appreciate you all
