00:00yeah that's you know that's kind of over the hill he's going to continue to shine so i'm proud of
00:06him i'm not really upset is apparently psychologically blind to the fact that this fight comes with it
00:11the high possibility of irreversible physical and neurological damage that will follow him for the
00:17rest of his life it's a win there for jay paul and you know what yeah when we speak about like
00:22the sparring stories before the fight i just thought i know they're talking hold my hands up
00:27i had it wrong lawrence acoli weren't talking i'm sure jake paul did win a round or two
00:32floyd mayweather shared his first words on jake paul's fight against anthony joshua praising aj and
00:38slamming jake for struggling in the ring however mayweather emphasized that jake deserves credit
00:42for his efforts stating that despite the outcome he is doing positive things for the sport and
00:47bringing attention to boxing right now for what he's doing it's good for what he's doing but once he
00:53fights a real actual real fighter it's gonna be bad have you been impressed but one one thing i
01:00like about him one thing i do like about him he's he's selling it he's selling it and he's making good
01:04money and he's he's entertaining i like it derek van shake a sports psychologist explained that the
01:10impact jake paul experienced against anthony joshua could have long-term effects on his brain and body he
01:16noted that when a fighter's mind and body have never encountered such force the brain cannot fully handle it
01:22which can lead to lasting damage while many believe fighters take punches to the head regularly without
01:27consequence van shake emphasized that the fighters who never fully recover are rarely seen as their
01:33struggles with memory mood chronic pain and cognitive decline often remain private experienced
01:39boxers develop defensive skills timing and head movement over time allowing them to absorb punches
01:45and minimize their impact however jake lacks that elite level experience meaning heavy punches from
01:51someone like aj are more likely to land cleanly and with full force van shake stressed that the
01:56human brain is not designed to withstand such high level impacts and repeated exposure without
02:01proper defensive ability can result in permanent or delayed injuries highlighting the dangers jake faced
02:07in the fight life if you're thinking fighters get punched in the head all the time and they seem to be
02:11fine that's only because you don't usually see the fighters who never recover where their symptoms show up
02:17years later where they may quietly suffer with memory problems mood swings chronic pain or reduced
02:23cognitive ability but never seek help and often don't publicize those struggles to the media also
02:28experienced fighters rarely take multiple clean shots from a very large and skilled heavyweight opponent
02:35like aj they have many years of defensive skill timing and head movement experience and reflex training
02:43that allows them to roll with the punches and deflect them just enough to reduce that full potential
02:51force it's mostly a myth that fighters can condition themselves through repeated fights to simply not get
02:59hurt however they become much better at rolling with the punches with defensive techniques bracing for
03:05impact and taking the pain yes i believe it jake does not have that level of experience and certainly
03:11not at the elite heavyweight level so punches from someone like aj are more likely to land cleanly
03:17with full direct power these types of punches are not comparable to anything jake has experienced and
03:22the human brain is not built to withstand that level of force boxing's a dangerous dangerous game your brain
03:29isn't supposed to rattle around in your head particularly the way it's going to the jake
03:33paul when anti-joshua starts letting those punches fly joey knight offered a balanced but honest take
03:38on jake paul's performance against anthony joshua he acknowledged that taking a clean right hand from aj is
03:44nothing like ordinary sparring and pointed out that jake getting up before the count mattered
03:49knight compared it to other fighters who took the same punch and stayed down suggesting that surviving
03:54it was a small positive for jake he also admitted he was wrong about dismissing earlier sparring
03:58stories and accepted that jake may have held his own against real heavyweights in moments however
04:04knight made it clear that the overall picture should not be distorted he explained that fighters
04:09often boxed to the level in front of them and that joshua adjusted accordingly despite a few highlight
04:14moments jake might clip and share knight stressed that jake landed very little overall in his view the
04:20fight was mostly about jake avoiding danger and running rather than truly competing and history should
04:25not be rewritten to suggest otherwise i'm not saying he took a dive or anything like that but
04:29you can go over people can't question you too much but fuck me it's not like taking a big old
04:34punishing right hand from aj and speaking of the right hand that aj gave to jake paul listen jake paul
04:41was up at the 10 count i see aj give that same right answer robert helenius and he was out for the count
04:47and he was juicing so that's a win there for jake paul and you know what yeah when we speak about
04:54like the sparring stories before the fight i just thought ah nah they're talking shit hold my hands
04:58up i had it wrong laurence acoli weren't talking shit i'm sure jake paul did win a round or two
05:04against laurence acoli we've just seen him do it against anthony joshua there so i think that that
05:10then moves us on to anthony joshua and we've got to speak about anthony joshua listen i do think that you
05:14box to the level that's in front of you sometimes if you see me in the gym sparring with professionals
05:20i look way better in those spars than i do sparring against amateurs that have had one fight or
05:25something like that because they're not orthodox they don't do things the way you're expecting
05:29them to and also we've got to mention the fact that despite there now being a probably plethora of
05:37highlight reel shots for jake paul to be able to clip up he probably landed 15 16 shots in total on
05:42anthony joshua um or about that um despite there being loads of that that he'll clip up and use and
05:47stuff like that let's not rewrite history with this fight this fight was jake paul coming and running
05:54now there's a style of running and if you're ever gonna run do the one that jake paul done just now
05:58because he did still let off multiple big power shots a couple of his shots he landed with double
06:02jabs and it would only be the second land but he did still let off multiple big back power shots he had
06:06a go he had as much of a go as you can after the fight with anthony joshua jake paul revealed serious
06:13complications from the bout he announced that he underwent jaw surgery and would face a strict diet
06:18for the next week all of his teeth had been affected preventing him from consuming solid food
06:23during recovery he was limited to liquids through a straw and soft foods like mashed potatoes this
06:28update highlighted just how physically punishing the fight had been and reinforced concerns about the
06:33risks of facing an elite heavyweight the news shocked many fans emphasizing the tangible
06:38consequences of stepping into the ring with a fighter of joshua's caliber and raising questions
06:43about whether jake's future in boxing should be reconsidered jake paul issues health update from
06:49hospital bed after having jaw broken by anthony joshua teeth removed and seven days eating through a straw
06:59wow folks that's brutal that's brutal i mean we're talking about not even soft food i remember guys when i
07:11went to uh got into the navy they pulled all four of my wisdom teeth out at one time i could not eat any
07:21solid food for like three days i was basically eating like mashed potatoes and stuff like that which
07:29which sucks but on that third day man i couldn't take it i had to get some meat so i was using my
07:36front teeth to eat i don't think jake paul could even do that look here it says jake paul has delivered
07:43an update on his health after suffering a double broken jaw in his knockout defeat against anthony joshua
07:52the american who drove himself to the hospital after admitting he feared his jaw was fractured
07:57survived six rounds with the former headweight champion before joshua's power finally um finally
08:04told in miami aj uh knocked him down twice in the fifth round and then twice in the sixth to end the
08:12mismatch in the early hours of saturday morning uh issuing an update to fans on social media paul revealed
08:20he will be forced to eat through a straw for a week and has some of his teeth removed wow
08:29the things some people do for money guys the things some people will do
08:35the former youtuber posting a picture of himself in bed at the university of miami hospital said on
08:42instagram discussions about the appropriate weight class for jake quickly surfaced after the fight
08:48analysts noted that heavyweight may not be a suitable division given the clear size
08:52and strength disadvantages he experienced the contrast in physicality was apparent and the
08:57potential for injury seemed significant many suggested that a move to cruiserweight could
09:01provide a more balanced environment this division would allow jake to test his abilities against
09:06opponents closer to his own size offering a safer platform to develop skills without the extreme risks
09:11associated with facing a top level heavyweight fans and experts alike stress the importance of
09:17choosing the correct division to extend his career effort he gave now i know it's not easy to fight a
09:23guy that's running away from you and and jake paul made a ring bigger it was 22 by 22 as a huge ring
09:30when i was looking at it i'm like holy this ring's massive i had said before the fight i tweeted i said
09:35it's like it was like a soccer field that they were you know fighting in right yeah and um you know it's not
09:41easy to do that but he just he just looked poor in there and like he didn't really care and you
09:47know you're being paid that much money and people are you know i looked at tickets today just to see
09:51on their ticket map how many tickets were left and what it was like and there was tickets being sold uh for
09:57thirty five hundred dollars and and and then this is the kind of performance if you're aj that you give
10:03when you're being paid 35 million and people are paying that much money to get in i i thought that was you
10:08know the whole show was awful netflix ought to be embarrassed for putting that on but that main
10:13event was just wow bad sam jones delivered a candid critique of jake's performance dismissing the
10:19notion that surviving multiple rounds should be celebrated he described the fight as difficult to
10:24watch not for the spectacle but for the technical deficiencies it displayed according to jones the
10:30bout looked awkward and one-sided from a boxing perspective jake's movements lacked precision and he
10:35often appeared overwhelmed by joshua's size and skill jones argued that framing the fight as a
10:40brave or respectable performance undermines the realities of professional boxing he emphasized
10:45that fans should recognize both the courage involved and the serious shortcomings evident
10:49throughout the match action to anthony joshua knocking out and breaking jake paul's jaw just talk to me
10:56right now about the fight yourself and then we'll break it down um a bit of a crap fight if we're all
11:01honest um it was like watching jaws 2 when all the kids went out on their on their on their boats and
11:08they were in the middle of the sea and the shark was just surrounding the boat just like that's what it was
11:17like it was just like it was like a shark circling its prey and just like it was like nibbling nibbling
11:24and eventually eventually got him but jake paul showed big plums in there no matter what anybody
11:32says about him because i've seen people say yeah he went in there to survive yeah okay he went in there
11:36to survive he's he's a guy that's been boxing a couple of years against a unified champion of the world
11:42who can really punch um yeah it wasn't the best it wasn't the best fight it wasn't the it just
11:50wasn't the best thing to watch was it like like it was just yeah it weren't great i just want to see
11:56now um tyson fury against anthony joshua i think at the stages of their careers the rat aj and um tyson
12:05fury we don't need to see interim fights andrew we don't need to see interim fights because they're just
12:10potential banana skins we want to see two of the best heavyweights of this era uh going at it and
12:17uh we we need to see it next former champion antonio tarver however offered a contrasting view while
12:23acknowledging jake's loss tarver praised his endurance and resilience he highlighted that paul
12:28lasted all six rounds against a much more experienced and physically dominant fighter tarver focused on
12:33jake's ability to avoid a quick knockout forcing joshua to maintain effort throughout the fight he commended
12:39the discipline and preparation involved in lasting the entire contest nevertheless tarver questioned
12:45whether paul's approach could succeed against elite boxers in a more competitive setting noting that
12:50survival alone does not equate to readiness for championship level bouts pro boxing fans antonio
12:56tarver after another big fight jake paul stopped by anthony joshua tonight what did you make of it
13:01i expected it um aj looked like he was putting that pressure on but credit to jake paul he didn't
13:08make it easy bro he didn't just he wasn't no sitting duck you know he got on his footwork used his ring
13:13uh was moving a lot and he landed some shots so hats off to jake paul but he was in there surviving and
13:20he didn't make it easy for aj but aj landed that right hand i knew it was over after that why did it
13:26take so long do you think oh jake paul wasn't he wasn't a sitting duck you know he was putting his mind to
13:32the game but just didn't have enough in his bag he just like i said he got to get those lessons and
13:38uh evolve more as a fighter you know you want to see him continue yeah you're going to continue of
13:43course uh just got to pick them right bro and give yourself a chance you know what i mean uh i think
13:50he was just biting off a little bit more than he can chew tonight you know his aspirations was a little
13:56bit far out i think aj could have got it done a bit quicker i mean i think he was in there to do it
14:02but like i say jake didn't make it easy bro you it's hard to hit somebody when they're moving
14:07especially the way he was moving lateral just you know circling so he had to catch up with him
14:13he hit him with a couple body shots that slowed him down a little bit uh but you can tell right on
14:18right from the outset bro it was just it's a different it was a different class the experts also
14:24analyzed jake's tactical approach in the ring he frequently emphasized elusiveness keeping
14:29distance and moving constantly to avoid being trapped in corners this strategy allowed jake
14:34to prolong the fight and demonstrate mental toughness however tarver pointed out that such
14:38a defensive style has limitations against truly skilled opponents focusing solely on evasion without
14:45consistent offensive engagement would be insufficient analysts suggested that while jake's survival was
14:50commendable it did not reflect the aggressive skill set necessary to compete for titles even at the
14:56cruiserweight level getting in for him in terms of what he's doing uh in the boxing ring listen so
15:01long as people will tune in and so long as jake paul is paid by a netflix or any broadcaster to air
15:08his fights we're going to see this continue and jake paul knows his business model right now this deviated
15:16this aj fight which came together kind of last minute after the tank davis fight fell apart but
15:21we know jake paul's mo here it's find the most popular guy with the least with the most physical
15:27disadvantages for me to fight and jake paul has the benefit that he's turned himself into a villain or in
15:33the pro wrestling circles a heel people tune in to what we did not tune into this fight to see competitive
15:40boxing most of us tuned in because we thought here's anthony joshua here is a two-time unified
15:46heavyweight champion a guy who physically just overwhelms jake paul and we're finally going to
15:52get what tyron woodley and anderson silva nate diaz were not physically fit whether it be through their
15:59size experience or age to do and that is knockout jake paul and so because i don't really feel like we
16:05got that satisfying comeuppance that a lot of people have been waiting for it kind of gives jake
16:12paul a little bit of mystique i'd almost say to still try and string this along now i don't know
16:19in terms you know he says he wants to be cruiserweight champion i'm not quite sure what the
16:24competitive road there is because let's make no mistake the reason this fight lasted as long as it
16:29did is because jake paul focused exclusively on being elusive he did his bet he and kudos to him
16:35right he did a great job of not getting cornered he was always on his on the gas until the gas sort
16:41of fell out from underneath him and so i don't quite know short of leveraging his popularity how he's
16:46going to get to that title shot if he's not actually going to fight like really fight an elite boxer
16:52boxing analyst henry offered additional insight into jake's unusual in-ring behavior he observed
16:58that paul frequently attempted to grab joshua's body and bring him down a tactic that diverges
17:03from standard boxing practices henry emphasized that such actions are not typically allowed in
17:08professional bouts and should have drawn intervention from referees this behavior suggested that jake was
17:14struggling to find legitimate offensive strategies against a much stronger opponent analysts use these
17:20moments to highlight the gap between jake's current abilities and what is required to compete
17:24effectively against seasoned fighters in light of these tactical observations experts stress the
17:30importance of experience veteran boxers develop defensive and offensive instincts over years of
17:35training which helps them anticipate attacks maintain balance and respond to unexpected movements jake
17:41while skilled for his experience level had not yet developed these instincts to the extent
17:46necessary to compete with elite heavyweights observers noted that his reactions were sometimes
17:50delayed and his attempts to control the fight were inconsistent was a little bit worried about
17:55what was coming back at him he was kind of unaware of what kind of power jake paul had he clearly
17:58didn't really want to get hurt or hit and also as soon as joshua did get to the inside against
18:03jake paul jake paul would clinch instantly and something that he did repeatedly throughout the
18:07fight which was very frustrating to watch that the referee didn't really punish or lock down on was the
18:12fact that jake paul kept sliding down aj's body grabbing his legs and going down to the ground
18:17basically now it's a tactic that people use when they're tired and when they're worried about being
18:23in that clinch for too long because they don't want to be smothered by the bigger man held by the
18:26bigger man have to go into a wrestling match it's basically submitting and saying i can't compete with
18:31you in that space also this gives me a quick chance to catch my breath and do a bit more moving which
18:36is something that he did constantly throughout this fight it also revealed to us why it was only eight
18:40rounds we already had the feeling that perhaps jake paul would try and survive which was why the
18:45fight was on the shorter side to get through eight rounds was a lot more thinkable than getting
18:50through 10 or 12 and there's no other reason for anthony joshua to ever to agree to an eight round
18:55fight it was clearly something that jake paul's team wants to in the contract and look had this fight
18:59been six rounds jake paul might have just about survived he might have just about got through it and
19:04he said himself after the fight if i just had a little bit more cardio i probably could have made it to
19:09the end and it speaks to just how much damn moving he was doing now look towards the end of the
19:14fight the fifth and sixth rounds aj started to actually land power punches and knock jake paul
19:19down to actually hurt him and in the end he finished the fight with a trademark large powerful right
19:24hand before i get into whether or not i think this was real whether anyone was carried or anything like
19:29that i have to say fair play to jake paul in terms of his toughness he actually does have quite
19:34a good chin because he was taking some big clean shots from anthony joshua who's a big powerful puncher
19:38that's it for today's video stay tuned until next time
