00:30Yeah, it's certainly a huge challenge, but remember last year Green Bay was a top 5D. How quickly can they adjust without the NFL's premier pass rusher?
00:40We're going to see tonight, two weeks ago, Micah Parsons chase Caleb Williams all over Lambeau Field. I want to see if they have enough team speed to do that again tonight.
00:49And for the Bears, I want to see how Caleb Williams continues to develop, how he built and how he built on last week against the Browns. We're in frigid, windy conditions here.
00:58He dropped some absolute dimes. As good as I've seen, we are in for a great matchup tonight.
01:04Place is rocking. Packers fans feel like the world is closing in, collapsing. But how do the Packers feel, Aaron Andrews?
01:10Well, Kev, we loved how fired up defensive coordinator Jeff Halfley was this week. He said, I am ticked off.
01:16I had to answer questions like, it's over for the Packers. And he told his team this, I know we're without Micah Parsons, but we can't let circumstances dictate our behavior. He said, I'm not going to change and I don't want you to change. He told us there's been a real uptick in communication and focus this week. And he said, these guys are ready to take this task and challenge personal. For more on the Bears, let's send it over to Tom Rinaldi.
01:40E.A., thanks a lot. When we talked to Ben Johnson this week, he was candid. It was the tightest we've been all year. That's how he described the first matchup against the Packers two weeks ago. His message to his team changed that feeling. There's no reason for us to be tight. Let it loose. If we go down, we're going to go down swinging. Caleb Williams will be without. Two of his top three wide receivers echoed that message. It's about our belief and playing to our standard. KB, we'll see if that standard is enough to beat the nemesis.
02:09Tom, they played two weeks ago. It was a dandy. It came down to the final play at Lambeau. The Packers won. And tonight should be just as good. Spanish language broadcast available on Fox Deportes tonight. It's December in Chicago. It is cold as you would expect. There's going to be some big time wins crossing the field. Bears won the toss. They deferred. And here we go.
02:29Pack will get it first. It's Bo Melton on the return. And spinning his way up across the 30 where he's stacked up there. And a penalty flag. Most of the penalty flags. Pyle moves forward. There's four penalty flags on the field. Did the ball come out? Does the play dead? What a way to start.
02:51Bears say they have the ball. What do the officials say?
03:00So the Packers keep possession despite the fact that the Bears say they had it. This is how we start the game. There's a looks like a face mask to Marco Jackson there. That's going to be the penalty. You can't jump on the top of the pile like that.
03:23That looks kind of fun, KB. He's like surfing the wave. What's wrong with that?
03:27It's great if you're in Tahiti.
03:30From the top rope. Boom.
03:34After the play was over. Personal foul. Unnecessary roughness by Chicago number 48. That's a 15-yard penalty. First down, Green Bay.
03:44That's a pretty big way to start the game. And Bears are one of the most penalized teams in the NFL. And they didn't want to start it like that with a free 15.
03:53This crowd is amped. You already heard the Packers. You know what chance going. They are ready to go. They've been tailgetting all day. And now Jordan Love, who has done exceptionally well against Green Bay in his career.
04:09And you see what he did just two weeks ago. He was great in that game.
04:13Yeah, he played really well. But he's had three interceptions in the last couple weeks. He cannot afford that tonight against this team that capitalizes on offensive mistakes. Needs to be at his best. His most consistent.
04:25Just keeps spreading the ball around. Use his vision and play point guard tonight like he's done so well this year.
04:30Everyone standing at Soldier Field as Josh Jacobs gets a call on first down and slips down after a short game.
04:40Behind this offense with Jordan Love and with an offensive line that is short today because Zach Tom, the starting right tackle, is a good one, is out.
04:49And Jordan Morgan gets his first start at right tackle in the NFL.
04:53Watson, that's a biggie, Christian Watson. He went to the hospital last week after a tough fall.
04:57His shoulder, he's okay. And their number one receiver is playing today.
05:11Here's Love on second down. Zips it. And that's complete to Musgrave.
05:15The tight end is a little short. The first down. The ball comes out.
05:18This is blue, though. This play is dead.
05:20Going to be a third down and one.
05:21Again, progress is ruled on the field. Third down.
05:30You know, it's so loud. No one can hear the whistles in here.
05:33What Tom was going to say, against this Dennis Allen's defense, and they're the best at turning the ball over.
05:37Number one in the league.
05:38They've been unbelievable taking the ball away from the opponent.
05:42I think 30 turnovers this year. That's absolutely ridiculous.
05:46They play a ton of zone coverage. A lot of eyes are on the quarterback.
05:51They've got to force some negative plays. And where are they at their best?
05:54Third down defense. That's where this Dennis Allen defense really thrives.
06:02Third one. They go jumble formation. And a play-action pass.
06:06Love in trouble. Scores.
06:08Tick!
06:09Oh, nearly intercepted, but there's a flag.
06:11And now there's two. There's one in the secondary, and there's one backed by Love.
06:18So dangerous. It was just kind of a play-action fake trying to sneak Christian Watson to the flat.
06:25I thought he had him.
06:27And then Jordan Love kind of rolls to the right.
06:29There were two fouls on the play, both by the defense.
06:33Holding. Defense is declined.
06:36First two fouls, repping the passer.
06:37Here, defense number 94 has accepted 15 yards.
06:41Automatic first down.
06:43Wow, big penalty, you see.
06:45Love in the pocket, just trying to buy time.
06:47And Booker, I guess, the body weight ends up
06:50kind of coming down here on Jordan Love.
06:53I don't know, he tries to spin off a little bit
06:56with his left arm, but
06:58ref sees all the body weight, and
07:00that's been a point emphasis for quite a few years now.
07:03Costly penalty for the Bears.
07:04I love this chippy rivalry already.
07:10Isn't this so good, KB?
07:12So great.
07:12Saturday night, let's go.
07:20Here is Jacobs.
07:24Cutting off the field, and
07:25runs into the wall of Bears.
07:27Namely, Tremaine Edmonds.
07:29Boy, is it good to have him back.
07:30He was on injured reserve the last month with a groin injury,
07:34and he was having a spectacular year before he got hurt.
07:37He's back in there.
07:38He's had a ton of interceptions.
07:39His length, it's pretty rare for someone his size
07:42to have that kind of lateral agility as well,
07:45and that length is tough for, you know,
07:47quarterbacks are dealing with these linebackers
07:49that are like six feet tall and not a ton of range.
07:51He's 6'4", all of it, long arms,
07:53and he's always done a great job of
07:55taking that ball away from the offense.
07:57Emmanuel Wilson in the game at tailback for the first time
08:02as Jacobs gets a rest.
08:04Here's Lowe.
08:04Both batted down on the line and incomplete.
08:07Brady Jarrett got his hand in there in its third hour.
08:11Yeah, great job in pass defense.
08:13You know, as a D lineman, if you can't get there,
08:15get those arm up, see the quarterback size.
08:18He's got Golden standing there in zone coverage
08:20on kind of a get-back-on-track pass.
08:23And, again, this is where this Dennis Allen defensive thrives.
08:26We call this the danger zone.
08:28There's a lot of danger from these defensive glitch packages.
08:43Third and Lowe.
08:44It's a four-man rush.
08:46Lowe comes one complete.
08:47Good job for a first down.
08:49That was a strong throw from Jordan Love,
08:52and they convert a third and nine.
08:54Yeah, they all bail out and play zone coverage,
08:56and one of the throws that Jordan Love consistently makes
08:59are these out cuts.
09:00Dobbs there on the sideline.
09:02Johnson not tied enough in coverage.
09:04I'd love seeing that tight spiral in this cold air.
09:08He can really drive the ball to the perimeter of the field.
09:11That's one of the strengths of his game.
09:13And Dobbs have been so quiet.
09:15He had only 13 catches the last six games.
09:17That's a big one, though, and the drive continues.
09:20Jenkins back in there.
09:22They're going to run it to Golden on the jet sweep.
09:23They're looking wide out.
09:24There's not much there.
09:25Bears played that well as Nashawn Wright was all over it.
09:30Matt LaFleur certainly familiar in this rivalry
09:33because he's dominated the rivalry.
09:34I mean, he's 12-1 against the Bears,
09:37and he's done an amazing job in his seventh year.
09:4076-37 as a head coach.
09:42Such a great job and a great leader.
09:45He's so detail-oriented, and as a play caller,
09:48he just continues to mix things up in this West Coast scheme.
09:52A lot of quick passing concepts, steady mix of zone runs,
09:56a lot of creativity with motions.
09:58He's just exceptional at what he does.
10:00And again, I think Josh Jacobs, to me,
10:18the last couple weeks has really stepped his game up.
10:21I know he's dealt with a few little injuries here and there,
10:23but his downhill running style with this offensive line,
10:26that's a little bigger than what they've had in the past,
10:29has really kind of excelled here.
10:31He had a long touchdown run against Denver last week.
10:34That was exceptional.
10:35They're going to need him tonight in a big way.
10:39They bring on Brooks, the third down back here.
10:48Love fires his car, and Don serves him forward,
10:52but he's just short, so it's fourth and less than one.
10:56Let's see what Matt LaFleur does here.
10:58He's going.
10:59What are you talking about, Jimmy?
11:00Let's see what he does.
11:01Do you think he even hesitates anymore?
11:03Does anyone not go on fourth anymore?
11:05I think at fourth and a yard, he's thinking all the way.
11:09We're just going to go for it.
11:10And good job by Jordan Love,
11:11just finding the underneath completion of zone
11:13and giving themselves a chance.
11:14Jacobs not in the game.
11:26It's Brooks, the third down back on fourth and one,
11:29and now a time is called.
11:31Timeout.
11:32Green Bay, third first of the half.
11:35The Packers will call a timeout.
11:39Well, when you think of the Packers' success,
11:41it's always this question, Tom.
11:43What's Love got to do with it?
11:44It's big in for me, KV.
11:46What?
11:46You don't want to hear that.
11:47But it really is true, right?
11:48And the wins, look what he's done this year.
11:5021-2 in the wins in the one tie.
11:52Passer rating excellent, 114.
11:55Packers' losses, two touchdowns, four interceptions,
11:58a turnover, as you mentioned.
11:59And the passer rating only 75.
12:01So bottom line is when he's hot,
12:03Packers are good.
12:04And he can get hot.
12:06Yeah, he's been so hot and streaky
12:08at different times over the course of his career.
12:10And good thing for Packers fans,
12:12late in the season, he's usually been at his best.
12:16And against this team, the Bears,
12:17he's been at his best, too.
12:24Well, fourth and one.
12:50Firing to the corner.
12:52And incomplete.
12:53Tried to get it over there to Christian Watson,
12:56but C.J. Gardner-Johnson says,
12:58ah, and the Bears get a stop on fourth and one
13:03after a long drive.
13:05They miss here, and a long drive goes for nothing.
13:08And the Bears will take over.
13:10Today's game on Fox is sponsored by AT&T.
13:13Connecting changes everything.
13:15And by Bud Light.
13:16If you drink, don't drive.
13:18Decide to ride.
13:19It is windy here in Chicago,
13:23right off the lake, as you would expect.
13:24See the temperature, winds 20 mile an hour,
13:26and 30s on gusts.
13:29And that will be a factor here today.
13:31Meanwhile, Packers, great opening drive,
13:32but gets stuffed on a fourth and one.
13:34And so Caleb Williams and the Bears take over.
13:36Deep in their own territory, they go.
13:38Get this number two run game run with DeAndre Swift,
13:45who's had a great year.
13:46And that's a good start for Swift,
13:48as he's up to the 14, going to pick up about six,
13:51with Caleb Williams, who has done a couple things
13:53really, really well.
13:54And, Tom, I know you said in that frigid, windy dayless,
13:57but you thought he had some of the best throws
13:58you've seen in his career.
14:00I thought it was so good last week,
14:01and him driving the football in windy conditions here,
14:04I don't know, it was sub-zero temps,
14:06and he just threw it like it was indoors.
14:08And I was just been impressed by his growth
14:10over the course of the season.
14:11He's such an athletic quarterback.
14:13You're going to see him on the move a lot tonight,
14:15both design runs, his escape ability is magical at times.
14:21It's Mononga straight up the middle on the first down,
14:23and then some for Kyle Mononga.
14:25Mononga, this two-back rotation they used,
14:28so effective, up to the 24, he goes.
14:32Mononga straight downhill, his little eye candy,
14:35and then it just straight downhill,
14:37bounces outside of his right tackle right,
14:39and there's nobody there.
14:41Loveland coming over here on Inaq Barre.
14:45Great job by the rookie tie-down out of Michigan.
14:48Continues to impress in the run game and the pass game.
14:51They got a lot of good things going here
14:52since the bye week in week six.
14:55Here's Williams to throw it for the first time.
15:06Looks around, zips it on the middle, and it's complete.
15:09Jaday Walker, the rookie's first catch of his NFL career,
15:14and he's going to get a lot of time with Burden and Adunze Hurt tonight.
15:17Yeah, watch the vision here by Caleb.
15:19Looks to the right, catches it, goes through one, two,
15:24now to the back side,
15:26finding the rookie on the in-cut.
15:28And this is what I saw last week.
15:29A lot of accurate throws,
15:31ball being delivered exactly where it should be over the middle,
15:34waist height, nothing bad can happen there.
15:36Williams with a lot of time.
15:38Now some pressure from Valentine.
15:39He can sprint, and he does that,
15:41as Caleb Williams is going to pick up about eight.
15:47And there is an injured bear.
15:49Wow, D.J. Moore down.
15:55They're already down two starting receivers.
15:58D.J. Moore and...
16:00Oh, he kind of nicks and come across the field,
16:03making contact with D.J. Moore.
16:07Kind of like, where'd that guy come from?
16:08I didn't see him.
16:09Again, Chippy, this rivalry,
16:14no love loss between these players,
16:17especially when you get with receivers
16:18and defensive backs in the secondary.
16:21Kind of jawed each other all day.
16:26D.J. Moore gets the tough end of that one.
16:34And it's interesting.
16:35Two wide receivers at Duzan Birdie now.
16:37We saw Walker, the rookie,
16:38who played eight snaps.
16:40Moore had a two touchdown game last week.
16:42And we've only seen the Bears
16:43be in three tight ends in jumbo formations.
16:45And they're going to have to mix it up tonight.
16:47Blitz is coming.
16:48Williams in trouble.
16:49Escapes to his left and throw.
16:51Oh, it's Carter.
16:52Beauty to Zaccheaus.
16:54Beautiful throw and catch.
16:56A lot of days, Zaccheaus.
16:57And everyone involved on this opening drive.
17:01Yeah, Zaccheaus, he finds him.
17:02Williams, this is just where he's so dangerous.
17:05He gets outside the pocket.
17:06He has all the vision.
17:08And then he finds open receivers downfield.
17:10This is not something you see once or twice a game.
17:14This is all game.
17:16This is the strength of Caleb Williams
17:17being outside of the pocket with a full field vision
17:21and making good throws to his receivers.
17:23D.J. Moore back in the game.
17:25That's him in motion.
17:2627-2 Zaccheaus.
17:28Gets Moore on a little screen.
17:30Gets a couple blocks.
17:31D.J. Moore just drifted off of what he would have scored.
17:35Javon Bullard saved the touchdown.
17:39D.J. Moore going, put me in, coach.
17:41I got a play to make.
17:43Just a little lateral behind the line of scrimmage.
17:46It's all in motion.
17:48Fake the ball to Swift and then spit it out to the perimeter.
17:51Nobody gets D.J. Moore on the ground there.
17:55Bullard makes a nice play
17:57who I think is one of the great young Packers stars in the secondary.
18:00He's a hard guy to get on the ground, D.J. Moore.
18:02After that fourth and one stop, nice drive by the Bears.
18:09They've already gone 80 yards and a first and ten one more time.
18:13With the Andre Swift, breaks the tackle.
18:16Right up the middle, he goes inside the canning, fighting forward.
18:22For this Bears offense, and look, there's a lot of highlights.
18:25We showed you they're down.
18:26A couple big playmakers today,
18:28but I know you think this offensive line has been one of the best ones in the NFL.
18:32Yeah, Tooney, Dahlman, Jackson, Darnell Wright.
18:34The right tackle's been amazing,
18:36and they got a bunch of good skill players.
18:37I know they're without a doomsday tonight.
18:39They're without Luther Burton, those terrific receivers,
18:42but I just feel like this offense in some strange way
18:46can withstand that
18:48because the creativity of Ben Johnson as a play caller
18:50and Caleb Williams kind of mastery outside the pocket.
18:57Tremeson!
18:59Swift, straight side.
19:01He has written damage with maybe a yardage.
19:04There's Clay Walker.
19:05Not only are the Packers playing without Micah Parsons,
19:07their superstar edge rusher,
19:09but Evan Williams, their young safety,
19:11who's probably playing at an all-pro level this year,
19:13is also out today,
19:15although they expect him back hopefully in a couple weeks.
19:17Yeah, tough to lose Evan Williams.
19:19I just, I love that guy as a player.
19:21Straight downhill, no fear.
19:23Now they got Bullard back there at safety.
19:25He's been a tremendous nickel.
19:26He makes a great play on the top one.
19:28D.J. Moran right there.
19:30Again, good tackling.
19:31This Packers defense, they're great tacklers.
19:35Third down.
19:36It is Swift.
19:37Looking for a scene.
19:38And he is...
19:39He's right there.
19:41See what the mark is.
19:42I think he's a little short.
19:43And now it's Ben Johnson's turn to decide
19:47if he wants to go on fourth and one.
19:48Oh, yeah, he's going.
19:49I mean, obviously.
19:50You do it.
19:51I do it.
19:56There it is.
19:58Walker the rookie.
19:59He's getting into the mix.
20:00He knows what Packers Bears is all about.
20:03They played two weeks ago.
20:04It was Chippy.
20:06Valentine's out there.
20:06Already a slugfest.
20:07Saturday night is all right for fighting.
20:09They go wildcat.
20:10Now Cole Komet comes in to take the snap.
20:12King, King!
20:13Oh!
20:14He's over-snapping over the wrong guy's head.
20:16He goes back and recovers it, but a near disaster.
20:20And it doesn't matter anyway on fourth down.
20:21Green Bay will get it.
20:23They tried the trickery, the bad snap,
20:27and the Packers get their own stop on fourth and one.
20:30So each team with a promising drive,
20:32and they get stuffed on fourth down.
20:34Packers fan dual sportsbook.
20:36Play your game.
20:38And by Taco Bell.
20:42The Black and Blue Division was forged out of fire and ice.
20:46The bare-knuckled brawlers played in a bloody rage,
20:50while a knockout punch was a necessity.
20:56The legend of the Black and Blue Division
20:58will forever remain frozen in time.
21:01Oh, it's so good, right?
21:04The oldest rival in the NFL.
21:06These teams don't like each other.
21:08212th meeting.
21:09And we had a 10-play and a 9-play drive and no points.
21:12Now Lowe goes back and drops.
21:14And that ball is incomplete.
21:15Trying to get it to Fitzpatrick.
21:17But back to that fourth down play with the Bears.
21:19He tried to get a little cute, but what happened?
21:20Yeah, a lot of cute.
21:21Komet comes in motion.
21:22The biggest difference is Mononga's at 7 yards.
21:25So that ball normally continues to rise.
21:28When you're at 5 yards, you catch the ball at a certain height.
21:32Kyle's 5'6", 5'7", something like that.
21:36That ball's just over his head.
21:37You get a little cute.
21:39Gallman, I know he's pissed because he wants that ball right at his stomach.
21:42But that's a challenging step.
21:44That only happens maybe once or twice all season.
21:46I can see how those mistakes happen.
21:48Yeah, each team goes the length of the field, gets stopped on fourth and one.
21:51Green Bay's second projection.
21:53And get it off to a little one on the right side.
21:55To Jacobs.
21:56Running behind Jordan Morgan over there.
21:59Without Zach Tom, their star right tackle.
22:01Morgan, he's played all over.
22:03He started the year as the right guard.
22:04Now had some snaps at right tackle.
22:06But his first NFL start at right tackle.
22:09So we'll see how they do.
22:11Yeah, and they've had a lot of strengths, this Packers offense.
22:15I think one of them that's been a little concerned all season is the offensive line.
22:19Just inconsistent in pass protection.
22:22Not really opening reliable running lanes.
22:24Some penalties.
22:26Hasn't been as crisp this season as we're used to.
22:28They're down for now.
22:36Love looking around.
22:38Doesn't run often.
22:39Is he going to make it?
22:40Diving forward.
22:41Looks like he does.
22:43Sneaky Jordan Love with the legs.
22:45Going to pick up the first down.
22:46With the legs.
22:47The pump fake.
22:48And then the forward dive.
22:51Just zone coverage.
22:53You see Edwards dropping out.
22:54And then Love pump fake in.
22:58Edmonds coming up there.
23:00Trying to make the tackle.
23:01Can't quite sandwich him.
23:03Good run there by Jordan Love.
23:06Here's Love again.
23:08Back to the short throw.
23:09And he was shot.
23:10That was a great catch by Romeo Dobbs.
23:13That ball was low.
23:14Went down to get it.
23:15And he stayed in bounds.
23:16Yeah, some of the best throws I see Jordan Love make are right to the sideline.
23:20Dobbs with great concentration.
23:23Going down there.
23:24Picking it off the turf.
23:26Possessing the football.
23:28Great throw there on Nashawn Wright.
23:30They do a lot of throws to the perimeter of the field.
23:33It makes the defenders start to guard that.
23:36And then, boom.
23:37The inside of the field starts to open up.
23:39And a good run to pick up for a play.

24:05Scoreless game here.
24:07Saturday night in Chicago.
24:10Holiday time.
24:11Doesn't feel festive.
24:12These teams are not exactly best friends.
24:15No, sir.
24:21Packers go jumbo formation here.
24:25Jacobs.
24:26Bands it up to a run.
24:28Look, it's stuck and spins around that.
24:30And Josh Jacobs should have the first down.
24:33Okay, you talked about, Tom, how he's playing really in a groove.
24:36He's playing in a groove as he's been maybe hurt more than he has all year.
24:40Just dealing with a knee injury.
24:41Dealing with a knee.
24:42And, again, I think this offense is better when he's going kind of straight downhill, north and south.
24:48No fair dodging.
24:49Sometimes they get to the perimeter and they use some wide outs to get there.
24:53But Josh Jacobs is more of an inside runner.
24:56And they're leaning on him and relying on him to get the job done in the middle of the defense.
25:00And that's one area of the defense, the Bears' defense, that they're a little bit exposed.
25:04They have not been good against the inside runs.
25:08There's Love on a play fake.
25:10Looking deep.
25:11Oh.
25:11Comes back to Carson Watson.
25:13Did he stay in bounds?
25:14Oh, wow.
25:15No.
25:17Athletic catch.
25:17Now they're going to talk.
25:18Maybe?
25:19No.
25:19Watson went up and got it.
25:21Just couldn't stay in bounds.
25:22Yeah, great job by Watson coming back to the ball.
25:26He needs all of that long frame.
25:29Maybe.
25:30Does he control it?
25:31That is so tight.
25:34Outstretched arms.
25:35One.
25:36Nope.
25:37Just one.
25:38Yeah.
25:39Ridiculous catch, though.
25:40It really was.
25:40Mike Pereira tells us he agrees.
25:43Incomplete.
25:44And so it's second and ten.
25:49And smart.
25:50And smart.
25:50And smart.
25:52Well, comes in over the middle.
25:57Dobbs again.
25:58He's having a big first quarter.
25:59And he's got another first down.
26:01Down to the 22.
26:03He goes.
26:04Yeah, that's one type of throw that Jordan Love does throw consistently well.
26:08Slant routes.
26:09Killed the Bears in the first game.
26:11Here it's to Dobbs.
26:12Right in stride.
26:15And they shot right there on the tackle.
26:18Jackson over the top.
26:19That looked kind of fun.
26:20And I know it's a penalty, but this is football.
26:24It's what we do.
26:26Here comes the boom.
26:27Ready or not.
26:28End of the first.
26:29In the Windy City, it's knocking things over.
26:31I mean, we told you about those strong 30-mile-an-hour wind gusts.
26:34And the kicking net goes down.
26:36And it's going to be a factor today, no doubt.
26:39East team has moved the ball.
26:41East team has gotten stopped on a fourth and one.
26:43So it's only the second possession of the game for Green Bay.
26:45We start the second quarter, scores.
26:47Jordan Love.
26:50Jordan Love.
26:54Steps away.
26:55Hits Jacobs.
26:56Wide open in the flat.
26:58And Ryan Jacobs, who made an unbelievable catch for a touchdown last week.
27:02It's shoved out of bounds by Nashawn Wright.
27:04Good job by Jordan Love.
27:06Reading zone coverage and finding the outlet receiver.
27:09But one thing that Ben Johnson said to us this week was they want to just not give up any big plays.
27:15Keep everything in front.
27:16And on these first two drives, it's been a ton of zone coverage.
27:20Playing kind of top-down, making Green Bay execute a high volume of plays.
27:26And Green Bay's done that.
27:27Yeah, Green Bay killed him with the explosive plays two weeks ago at Lambeau.
27:31Jacobs looks for a seam, bounces off a tackle.
27:34Jacobs inside the 10, and it's first and goal for the pack.
27:42Great job by Josh Jacobs, kind of spilling that ball to the outside, getting to the perimeter.
27:47Kind of starts inside, wiggle, wiggle.
27:49And then back to Greengrass there on the outside.
27:53Got Brisker trying to come in.
27:54Edmonds on the tackle.
27:55And then Wright eventually getting him down.
27:57Josh Jacobs is just a perfect runner for this offense.
28:01Yeah, he's downhill, but he's got a little speed to get outside as well.
28:05He's a man of south end.
28:06Get it to him again.
28:07Jacobs looking for Brock.
28:08Bounces to the outside, and then he's taken down by Grady Sherry.
28:12Down to about the 5.
28:17This job a little.
28:19Very low-risk play on a screen pass.
28:21I used to love screen passes down inside the 10
28:24because you can know you're basically going to complete the ball.
28:26You try to get a few blockers out in front.
28:28But Grady Jarrett, the veteran that he is, kind of sniffs it out,
28:32and then goes and makes a nice tackle.
28:3312th play of this drive for the Packers.
28:41You see what they've done in go-to-go situations like they are here.
28:4418 in a row.
28:45Wow.
28:46Incredible.
28:48Love trying to make it 19.
28:49Hits it.
28:50Manuel Wilson.
28:50That's tips.
28:51Oh, my goodness.
28:52That was up in the air forever.
28:54And it's just incomplete.
28:55It'll be third down.
28:56Yeah, those tips are what this Bears defense has lived on.
29:02Tips and overthrows.
29:03They say, we've got to get those.
29:06And there it is, just taking your eyes off the ball.
29:09Love actually makes a great throw right to the face mask.
29:15Is it possibly a backward pass?
29:18Very tight, similar to what happened in Seattle on Thursday night.
29:22Kind of looking.
29:25Was that at the line of scrimmage?
29:27Was it backward?
29:28I think that's what they're looking at now.
29:31After replay assist, that was a backward pass.
29:34It went out of bounds at the eight-yard line.
29:36It'll be third down at that spot.
29:39So they'll move it back.
29:40Mike Pereira joins us from L.A.
29:41Mike, you like that call?
29:42You told us about it, right?
29:44Well, I think we just saw it yesterday, as a matter of fact.
29:46It seemed like it was just the other day.
29:48But it is clearly backwards from the point of release of Love's hand to where it's first touched.
29:54Difference is, it goes out of bounds.
29:56And that's where they get the ball, not back to the previous spot.
29:59Yeah, so they're going to lose a couple on that play.
30:02Mike, thanks.
30:03Yeah, that generated no buzz at all from that Ram-Seahawks game, right?
30:06Yeah, and I just don't like those plays where quarterbacks are throwing the ball backwards.
30:11I've seen that a few times, but that's the risk.
30:14That ball ends up being a lateral.
30:15It's a live ball.
30:16Green Bay got away with that one.
30:17Third and goal.
30:18Love.
30:19Look at it.
30:20Floating end zone.
30:22Incomplete.
30:23Trying to sneak it in there to Watson, but it really wasn't open.
30:27Now it's fourth and goal, and here comes the field goal.
30:29That win was absolutely whipping.
30:31Watson one-on-one with Edwards, and you see as the ball comes out of his hand, it kind of rips to the right.
30:37That is the Windy City in dealing with these conditions in an outdoor stadium.
30:42Sometimes it just pops up, and Tom Rinaldi, Aaron Andrews down on the field told us,
30:47going into this end zone, that ball is very difficult.
30:51It's hard for kickers, and you saw right there, it's hard for quarterbacks, too.
30:54Yeah, there's a wicked crosswind left to right.
30:57We'll see how McManus handles a 26-yarder.
30:59Snap and hold are good, and that one, wind be darned.
31:04No issue.
31:05So the Packers get on the board, making 3-0.
31:08The winds will start coming, and we'll be just fine.
31:10Well, I think if you told any Bears fan they'd be 10-4 in December, and the number two seed in the NFC right now,
31:17they would have signed up with their mortgage, with their life, with their—I mean, it's been a long time, man.
31:22This city is buzzing this weekend.
31:23It's been great to be here.
31:25Yeah, we were here in week three.
31:27It was quite a bit different.
31:28They were 0-2, and it was 75 degrees out.
31:30Yeah.
31:30They've had a hell of a season, and Ben Johnson has come in and changed the culture with his accountability and attention to detail.
31:39He's got some great assistants.
31:40He gave them a lot of credit this week.
31:43But when you're trying to turn around and lose an organization, you need buy-in, and some of those wins early really help the buy-in.
31:50Ben Johnson said, I'm a stickler for details.
31:52But listen, in this game, details matter.
31:55It's all about tactics.
31:56It's all about doing your job consistently every single play and giving your teammates a chance to do theirs.
32:04You know, Steve, that ball is not staying on the tee.
32:07So you can bring out someone to hold the kick, and then that person has to run off the field.
32:12They can't make a tackle.
32:14But you see, you've got no chance with the win today.
32:17Oh, no.
32:19It is whipping.
32:20It's really picked up.
32:21We were down there in the pregame.
32:22And it's really picked up since then, even through the last 18 minutes of the first quarter.
32:26So the first quarter and early part of the second.
32:28Look at that wind.
32:29Oh, my goodness.
32:30Ball just held up there now in a return from Josh Blackwell.
32:34Cuts back to the near side.
32:36Gets a cut.
32:36Blocks.
32:37And good ones.
32:38Up across the 35.
32:39He goes.
32:40But back to the wind and affecting this pass from Jordan Love.
32:43Watch this.
32:44Yeah, I thought it was a great play call.
32:45You get Christian Watson in the back of the end zone on the linebacker T.J.
32:50We're just watch the ball.
32:52He lets it go.
32:53And then Mother Nature kicks in.
32:55And that ball just whips to the right.
32:57Greg Maddox would be proud of that little split finger.
33:01Two-seamer cutter right there.
33:04Crazy.
33:05Meanwhile, there's an injury for Green Bay on that play.
33:07Aaron Mosby, reserve defensive end.
33:10Hopefully he's okay.
33:11CBS and Fox, followed by Sunday Night Football as the Patriots face the Ravens on NBC.
33:16And concludes with Monday Night Football as the 49ers take on the Colts on ESPN.
33:20Then Week 17 kicks off with a Christmas Day tripleheader starting at 1 p.m. Eastern on Netflix.
33:25Stream games live on your mobile device with NFL+.
33:29Aaron Mosby got up limping and he goes into the Blue 10, which, by the way, putting that up in tonight's windy conditions is not exactly easy.
33:36Look at that thing.
33:37Hopefully Mosby is okay.
33:38Obviously Packers without Micah Parsons for the year, they don't want to lose any more in line.
33:42But now it's the Bears getting the ball.
33:44They're going to run with Monunga getting an opportunity.
33:47And the Bears had more offense on the opening drive than they did entire first half in Lambeau a couple weeks ago.
33:53So that's positive.
33:54Just looking for a lot of positives.
33:56Better than they started the last time up in Lambeau two weeks ago.
34:00The Bears defense has done exactly what they wanted.
34:03Ben, don't break.
34:0418 minutes into the game.
34:05They've only given up three points, and now it's their offense's responsibility to continue with these long drives, run the ball what they do, use Caleb's athleticism in and out of the pocket.
34:17They go jumbo formation.
34:18On second and five, Williams makes the catch, and he is wrapped up immediately.
34:30Quay Walker, the speedy middle linebacker.
34:32You said it, Tom.
34:33Packers may be the best tackling team in the NFL.
34:36They just don't miss.
34:37Once the ball's in the receiver's hands, they get them on the ground.
34:40They just very good at tackling.
34:42They're very athletic at linebacker, and they do have a lot of speed.
34:46Got some ridiculous numbers, like in the last ten years, where they rank in terms of yards after catch.
34:52Have been certainly the strength of this defense.
34:55Walker, Cooper, linebacker level.
34:58They are terrific.
34:59Third one, it's Monunga, racing forward.
35:05It's a first down into Green Bay territory.
35:10But that's, KB, very much what the Bears have done over the course of the last ten weeks.
35:16They run it on first down.
35:18If nothing, they call a pass play on second.
35:20Nothing's there.
35:20Caleb will run.
35:21He'll check it down.
35:22Get it to third and one, and then first down.
35:25And then now it's right back to running.
35:26They just wear on the defense, and they wear them down.
35:30Green Bay's defense got worn down two weeks ago.
35:32We'll see if that happens again tonight.
35:34There's Williams.
35:34Some pressure.
35:35Steps away.
35:36Fires one.
35:37Penalty flag in the secondary.
35:40So let's unpack all this incomplete right now.
35:44I think a hold in the secondary on Valentine on the tight end.
35:49The quarterback had the ball.
35:51Holding.
35:51Defense number 24.
35:53Five-yard penalty.
35:55Automatic first down.
35:56Now the tight end, I think that's Komet is coming in and then back out.
36:01And Valentine, just as he's breaking back out, he just can't cover with your arms.
36:06It's always lower your hips, cover with your feet, especially when you have the advantage
36:11of speed that the corners have on the tight ends.
36:13Really no reason for them to get handsy in their coverage.
36:16Williams fake heavy pressure.
36:24That could have been a pick six.
36:26Nixon read it the whole way, and there was some pressure there on a blitz from Hobbs.
36:31Hobbs did a good job kind of surprising Caleb, but I give Caleb all the credit in the world.
36:36You see the blitz right here.
36:38Shows up quickly on these quarterbacks.
36:40D.J. Moore is obviously not the intended receiver.
36:43He doesn't even think that ball's coming out.
36:44But Caleb's done such a good job of not taking sacks and then throwing the ball away when it's not there.
36:51Not making a bad play worse.
36:52Last week, last year, was the opposite.
36:54Here's what I'm going to have the pitch.
36:56And he goes nowhere.
36:58Well played.
36:58Jordan Riley comes on and makes the play.
37:02It's kind of all hands on deck for this Packers defense without Parsons, again, without Evan Williams today.
37:06And, you know, I love what Aaron said in the opening.
37:08There's Jeff Halfley.
37:09He said he called everybody out.
37:10He said, hey, we're a number five defense from last year.
37:14And basically everyone on the roster is the same for the most part.
37:17So the other thing is it came into this year.
37:20They didn't expect to get Mike to Parsons.
37:21It happened right before the year.
37:23Yeah, exactly, KB.
37:24It's kind of a wake-up call.
37:27Kill, kill, kill, kill, kill.
37:30And we get flags.
37:33All start.
37:34Offense number 58.
37:36Five-yard penalty.
37:37Third down.
37:38When you get laid into that cadence and the quarterback goes, kill, kill.
37:41It kind of spruits the offensive lineman at times.
37:43Sometimes you have to say, easy, easy.
37:47Less voice inflection.
37:48You can see it right here.
37:49Knee and high.
37:53Kill, kill, kill, kill.
37:55Yeah, so sometimes you just got to easy, easy.
37:59And once they know, you're not going to snap it.
38:00Kill, kill, kill, kill.
38:02Kind of a better M.O. for a quarterback to have that operation so you don't jump offside
38:07at offensive tackle.
38:08So now it's third and long.
38:10It is Williams.
38:11He's so good at escaping.
38:13Trying to run away from Gary.
38:14Throws it on the wall.
38:15And he just throws it away incomplete.
38:17On a third and long.
38:19And that'll send out the punting.
38:20That time Packers got good pressure from Gary and Ina Agbari.
38:23Yeah, done a pretty good job in their blitz angles and their pursuit angles.
38:27They just know the last time they played them, Caleb just killed them with his athleticism.
38:33Take flatter angles just like that.
38:36And you just give nothing away.
38:37You see they're trying to spy here on the inside.
38:40And then when you're out of the pocket, take a really flat angle.
38:43So he can't turn the corner where Caleb is so dangerous.
38:46First punt of the game for either team.
38:49It's Torrey Taylor.
38:51Out for the Bears.
38:54He will get it away.
38:56Look at it.
38:56Dunk it deep in there.
38:58What a pity ever.
39:00Oh, what a punt.
39:02Put that right around the two.
39:03Let's see.
39:04Oh, yeah.
39:05Man was that good.
39:06Torrey Taylor drops it in amongst the win for a 43-yard punt.
39:103-0, no Pack.
39:11Great shot of Soldier Field in Chicago.
39:14Saturday night football.
39:15Packers and the Bears.
39:17And we say welcome to the broadcast booth.
39:19So this has been fun.
39:20Each team kind of throwing some jabs.
39:213-0 Green Bay.
39:23Jordan Love plays a solid start to this game.
39:25He's done a great job just kind of taking what the defense gives him.
39:27He's got a little mobility.
39:29So when they're playing all this zone defense, he's able to kind of maneuver around the pocket,
39:32find his open receivers.
39:34Now they've got to go a long way.
39:3595 yards.
39:36The Bears got them backed up.
39:38They've got to dig their way out of this.
39:39Yeah, they put it at the 5.
39:40We went to break it.
39:41Looked like it went out of the 2.
39:42But there's a chip in the football, which they can tell where it went out.
39:45Went out at the 5.
39:46Well, that's where the Packers start.
39:47And Wilson has a run.
39:48And it's flipped over to the 5.
39:49Mike Pereira proud of that one.
39:51He told us this week, the chip in the ball, that's how they do it.
39:53So there you go.
39:55As you look at Green Bay's first two possessions, TB.
39:57Sorry about that.
39:58They go down the field, stopped on a fourth and one, and they go down the field again.
40:02They threw that backwards pass, which cost them, and they settle for a field goal.
40:06So they're moving it today.
40:06Yeah, but they're not getting those explosive plays that really killed the Bears defense and
40:11helped Green Bay's offense last time they played.
40:13They're going to make them drive them.
40:15And whether it's zone coverage or not playing a lot of man coverage, see if they can repeat
40:20a high volume of throws.
40:21I'll get it out to Christian Watson, who makes the catch.
40:24And that's his first catch of the day.
40:26Good enough for a first down to have their number one receiver.
40:29Healthy is a big deal.
40:30Because he dove out, laid out in Denver.
40:32They took him to a hospital to check on his shoulder, but intact and in there.
40:36Yeah, worried about him being out here.
40:38And you just saw that throw, just that little five, six-yard gain.
40:41I used to relish opportunities when defenses would bend and not break.
40:45And I just thought as a quarterback, it's really a badge of honor.
40:48You can drive your team down the field consistently.
40:5113, 14 play drives, surgically attacking them.
40:54You can break their spirit.
41:00Here's Love.
41:01Blitz is picked up.
41:02Clash in and he gets smoked.
41:04And there's a penalty on the play.
41:06He stepped right in.
41:07Austin Booker and Love is hurt.
41:11Oh, man, he took a shot.
41:15Wow.
41:19Stepping up to...
41:20Oh, man.
41:21Oh, man.
41:22Tough hit.
41:24See Booker coming in.
41:26Personal foul.
41:28Roughing the passer.
41:28Here, defense number 94.
41:31The 15-yard penalty.
41:33Automatic first down.
41:34I mean, that's not debatable, eh?
41:37Yeah.
41:37Put his head down and smacked him in the head.
41:39And now you just hope that Love's okay.
41:43Penalty on Chicago, but more concern for Jordan Love.
41:47Back at him running off.
41:48So now we'll see if he's okay.
41:50This...
41:50Go back to this hit from Austin Booker.
41:53Yeah, full speed.
41:54Booker just signed up.
41:56Finish it off and got to lower the target hitting area.
42:00Another foot or so.
42:02A little high.
42:02Love's going down.
42:03Booker's trying to get on.
42:06A little head-to-head.
42:07So that means Malik Willis has checked in with the game.
42:09He's played 13 snaps all year.
42:11Seven of them against the Giants where he threw a touchdown pass to Christian Watson.
42:15And he was 2-0 starting with Jordan Love last year.
42:18So he's done well since I acquired him from Tennessee.
42:21Here, though, they're going to run.
42:23Trying to get him out of the Wilson going off that left side.
42:26And he's going to pick up about three and a half yards on that carry.
42:30So we'll see how Love is.
42:32And now it is Willis.
42:34See what he's got coming into a game ice cold.
42:37Yeah, it's tough.
42:38And there's this kind of backup quarterback mentality.
42:41The adrenaline's really pumping.
42:42It's been certainly cold on the sideline.
42:44How can I get some positives play going, kind of settle into the game, break a sweat at least?
42:50It's really tough as a backup mentally to come from the sideline into the game.
42:56I expect a few handoffs here early.
43:02That's Jayden Reed in motion.
43:04Give it to Wilson after the ball.
43:06Now, you Wilson had a solid run.
43:07Give you a third and one.
43:09TB, how about play calling-wise?
43:11Now, one thing, you know, you look at Willis.
43:13He can run.
43:14So how about, you see Jordan Love getting out of the tent but no helmet,
43:18which normally means that you're going to get checked some more inside for a head injury.
43:25Yeah.
43:26They keep the helmet from you in that case.
43:28But we won't speculate.
43:30We'll wait to hear.
43:30Yeah, Malik Willis is probably a little more like Caleb Williams than Jordan Love.
43:34Very twitchy.
43:35He's got a good arm.
43:36He's athletic.
43:38Can get out of the pocket and hurt you with his legs.
43:41But he'll be a big part of this run game as well.
43:43And LaFleur's got plenty of plays on his call sheet that are good for him.
43:48That clocked a run away.
43:50One and two.
43:50Jacobs stops short of a first down.
43:54It'll be a fourth and less than one as Jaquan Brisker came in from the safety position to trip him up.
44:00Yeah, Brisker coming down to the weak side.
44:02There's no one back there when Jacobs decides to cut back.
44:05And here they go again.
44:06Why not?
44:24Well, it's just looking over there, see if they're actually going to go.
44:26Are they going to call a timeout?
44:28Try to bleed that clock all the way.
44:29Let LaFleur think about it again.
44:33The second and a half.
44:35And so they call their second timeout of this first half to do just that.
44:39Hey, there's some great football coming your way in the Trust & Will Holiday Bowl.
44:43Arizona takes on SMU.
44:45Don't miss a perennial Barber.
44:47January 2nd, 7.30 Eastern on Fox.
44:51Well, the NFC is so good, and things changed a lot on Thursday with Seattle's win over the Rams.
45:01They're now the number one seed.
45:03So both Seattle and San Francisco control their own destiny to get the one seed.
45:08And you see what can flip with the Bears and Packers.
45:10Obviously, the division.
