00:00Over 16,000 motorcycle owners and riders were penalized for various offenses during Ops
00:07Motosikal carried out in Terengganu from January 1 until December 20.
00:13State Road Transport Department, or JPJ, Director Mohammad Zamri Samion said 81,107 motorcycles
00:21were inspected during the operation.
00:24The checks resulted in more than 24,000 summonses being issued, while 806 motorcycles were seized
00:31under Section 64 Subsection 1 of the Road Transport Act, 1987.
00:37He said the most common offenses included riding without a valid driving license, lack
00:41of insurance coverage, and expired licenses.
00:45Technical offenses recorded involved improper registration plates, unauthorized vehicle
00:50modifications, and missing side mirrors.
00:54He added that 5,803 notices were also issued to motorcyclists for running red lights, under
01:00Section 114 of the Road Transport Act, 1987.
01:05Meanwhile, during Ops Rentas Sempadan, held from December 15 to 17, 193 summonses were issued
01:14to commercial vehicles for various offenses.
01:17The operation focused on inspecting permits, travel documents, driving licenses, international
01:23road taxes, and vehicle technical compliance.
01:26In total, 342 vehicles were inspected, with 90 found to have violated the Road Transport Act,
01:341987, and subsequently penalized.
