Two motorcycle riders pleaded not guilty at a Kuala Lumpur Magistrates' Court on Thursday (May 21) to a charge of reckless and dangerous driving on the Setiawangsa-Pantai Expressway (SPE) earlier this month.

Khairul Azham Mohd Noor, 36, and Nashril Rosli, 31, allegedly lifted the front wheels of their Ducati motorcycles off the ground for a distance of 80 metres along the SPE on May 9, in the midst of regular highway traffic.

00:32The stunt was caught on video and quickly spread across social media, prompting police to act.
00:37Both men were detained for questioning on May 16th.
00:40If convicted, each man faces up to five years in prison,
00:44a fine of between RM5,000 and RM15,000, and a driving licence disqualification of at least five years.
00:51In court, the prosecution sought bail of RM2,000 for Narshril and RM3,000 for Kairul Azam.
00:58Their lawyers appealed for the minimum, citing family responsibilities.
01:02The magistrate fixed bail at RM3,000 each.
01:04The case returns to court on July 8th and 10th.
