'Kontakthof': Greece revives Pina Bausch at its National Theatre

The great German choreographer's landmark work, which was first presented in 1978 in Wuppertal, is revived on the main stage of Greece's National Theatre with an entirely Greek cast.

00:00Konterkraft, one of the emblematic works of Pina Bois, the German choreographer who decisively influenced the form and content of contemporary dance, has been presented at the National Theatre in Athens.
00:1837 years after its first presentation in Greece, the work is now a production featuring exclusively Greek performers, aged 21 to 55.
00:30By the time we got to Kontaktov, which was 1978, we had already done a lot of revolutionary pieces.
00:40Many danced operas, we have had the tomatoes, people walking out from the public, slamming doors.
