Windcraft Music Fest: The celebration of wind instruments in Cyprus offered a musical feast

00:00The Windcraft Music Fest was held for the 11th time in Katibeta, the beautiful village on Mount Trudos in Cyprus.
00:09The event marries tradition with jazz and contemporary sound, bringing together musicians and bands not only from Cyprus, but also from the rest of Europe.
00:2030-year-old Robinson Curie is one of the most interesting young voices of French jazz. Last year, he was awarded the prestigious Django Reinhardt Prize as the best jazz musician in France.
00:33I wanted something really special with instruments that we never saw before together. I wanted a trio because the chemistry of the trio is really something unique.
00:47It's a kind of questioning about ancestral origins, but also with the electronics that represent the sonorities that we don't know, maybe that are forgotten.
01:07Aranitsa is a group of five young Bulgarian musicians who share a love for both Bulgarian tradition and contemporary music genre with a focus on bass.
01:22We interpret Bulgarian folklore mixed with some other modern styles such as drum and bass, dubstep, even jazz.
01:31Honestly, this is a style of music that we enjoy and listen, and so we like to mix it with Bulgarian folklore.
01:39We have the didgeridoo, which is an ancient woodwind instrument that has the bass, and we also add more bass from synthesizers and mix it with acoustic instruments and traditional singing.
01:54The members of the band met 16 years ago in a park.
01:57For many music lovers, Windcraft Music Fest is more than just a concert series.
02:04It's a living testament to the richness that comes from collaborations between people who have never worked together before,
