US strikes 70 Islamic State targets in Syria following deadly attack on US soldiers

The US launched a massive attack on 70 Islamic State combat forces in Syria on Friday, in retaliation to a recent ambush attack in which two US soldiers and one US civilian interpreter were killed.

00:00The United States has launched a massive attack in Syria against the Islamic State Group.
00:07According to an anonymous U.S. official, the military strikes hit 70 IS infrastructure and weapon sites across central regions of the country.
00:16The attack was in retaliation for an ambush attack last week in which two U.S. soldiers and an American civilian interpreter were killed.
00:25U.S. President Donald Trump on Friday also reiterated his backing for Syria's President Ahmad al-Sarrah, who Trump said was, quote, fully in support of the U.S. actions.
00:37During a speech in North Carolina, Trump saluted the attack that struck, quote, ISIS thugs in Syria who are trying to regroup.
00:47Hundreds of U.S. troops have been deployed in eastern Syria as part of a coalition fighting the militant group.
