00:00Since knowing about this appointment, life, I'll be honest with you, has been a little surreal.
00:06I'm pinching myself rather a lot, realising just what's happening.
00:12And it's going to be a very big change.
00:16I'm very grateful, massively grateful, for the great trust that Pope Leo has placed in me.
00:23And I pray that I'll be able to live up to that trust and continue the great work of the church.
00:31I think we're at an interesting moment in the life of the church in this country.
00:36We're seeing a great interest in the life of the gospel for perhaps a whole variety of reasons.
00:44But I think the gospel for me is, the following of the gospel, is the most wonderful adventure.
00:50Just thinking of these last few days, I would never have thought of this appointment.
00:58And yet, the Lord has chosen me for it.
01:02The following of Christ is an adventure.
01:05And I'm sure that together with the priests and people of Westminster,
01:08we'll be able to explore that adventure together and walk together
01:12as we seek to bring to the world around us the wonderful message that is the gospel of Christ.
