00:00Woo-hoo!
00:03The Hammonds are here!
00:05Travel is in my blood.
00:07Let's go.
00:08This is the best.
00:09For years I worked as a tour rep,
00:11following in the footsteps of my dear lovely mom,
00:14a hard-working, no-nonsense travel agent.
00:17Thanks to her money-saving tips,
00:19we managed to budget our way to a place that totally captured our hearts.
00:23Look at this! Look at this!
00:25Florida!
00:26I love it!
00:27I was born for Little Havana.
00:30And now the Sunshine State is a big draw for me...
00:33Sorry, I'm still on your foot.
00:35...and my son, Aidan.
00:37Good job, y'all.
00:38You see him, mate?
00:39Yeah.
00:41But with holiday prices rising...
00:43Oh, my goodness. I'm in heaven.
00:46Can you do Florida...
00:48...without breaking the bank?
00:50$4.99 for these.
00:52Oh, yes, Aidan!
00:54Oh, yes!
00:55Out, your mum.
00:56Otherwise, just get out.
00:58It's the best day of my life.
01:06Okay, bab, buckle up,
01:07because this show is going south.
01:11So, we're going to visit the drive-through, mother.
01:14Actually, you can go this way.
01:15You all right?
01:17We're leaving Miami behind us and heading into the deep blue yonder.
01:22I'm tempted to.
01:25That better?
01:26Yep.
01:28To what some people call America's Caribbean.
01:31Yep, we're on our way to the dangly bit,
01:33right at the bottom of Florida.
01:35I think this is the Keys now.
01:36We're going into the Keys.
01:37Yeah, for goodness.
01:39Love it!
01:41The Florida Keys are a chain of tropical islands
01:44that extend into the Florida Straits.
01:48And for me, the Florida Keys are unfinished business.
01:52Do you know what?
01:53It's actually my dream to actually go to the Keys,
01:55and I've never been.
01:56Even my mum.
01:57Yeah, my mum wanted to go to the Keys.
01:59She did.
02:00We never ever was able to go.
02:01I'm excited.
02:03The Florida Keys are a dividing line
02:05between the Atlantic Ocean to the east
02:07and the Gulf of Mexico to the west.
02:11And the island and waters around them
02:12are home to some of the most diverse wildlife
02:15in all of America.
02:18Look at that vast east.
02:19Big, isn't it?
02:21Really big.
02:23But these islands are also a playground
02:25for more than five million travellers every year.
02:28And yes, me and Aid are adding to that number.
02:33The Hammonds are here!
02:35So, we're on a mission to tread as lightly as we can.
02:39And as the saying goes,
02:40take only photos and leave only footprints.
02:43Hopefully, not carbon ones.
02:46So, you've heard of green tourism, haven't you?
02:48Yeah, totally.
02:49Well, you think about it,
02:50when you're flying somewhere,
02:51you want to give back in other places,
02:53you know what I mean?
02:54You've got to look after your carbon footprint.
02:55Yeah.
02:56Things like not using the towels as much.
02:58Exactly.
02:59Or changing your bed covers.
03:00Exactly.
03:01So, I was thinking,
03:02while we're on this leg of the trip,
03:03I was thinking,
03:04why don't we try and be as green as possible
03:06and eco-friendly?
03:07I love that idea.
03:08I've already started with my metal cup.
03:10Yes, lovely.
03:11So, allow me to drink out of plastic cups.
03:13Yep, none of those disposable plastic bottles for us.
03:17So, it's like an eco-friendly road trip.
03:20Exactly.
03:21I absolutely love it.
03:22What a road trip.
03:24We're on US Route 1,
03:27the highway that goes to the sea
03:29and we're clocking up miles
03:30without a single drop of gas in the tank.
03:33Yep, we're doing the Florida Keys on batteries.
03:37We started off well.
03:39Oh, boy.
03:40This is electric, baby.
03:42It's electric.
03:43What charge are we on?
03:4487%.
03:45There we go.
03:46We've got this, babes.
03:47We've got it.
03:48So, we are doing the Keys electric style.
03:50I like it.
03:51Let's be as eco-friendly as we possibly can.
03:54Alright, sir?
03:55Yep, let's do it.
03:57We aren't perfect,
03:58but we're going to do our level best
03:59to keep on the right side of being green.
04:02Why are you getting involved in my driving?
04:04You, the passenger.
04:05It's a good button.
04:06Be the passenger.
04:07It's a good button to press.
04:09Just got to work out the friendly side of it now.
04:11And in the spirit of this greener
04:13and getting back to nature time...
04:15I think we're going to have no phones.
04:19Let's just have some quality time.
04:21Mummy and son.
04:22No phones at all.
04:29Well, that's the conversation killed then.
04:32Luckily, the Florida Keys are a great distraction.
04:37Oh, look at that.
04:39Lovely sea over there.
04:41Beautiful.
04:44Once you cross over the causeway from South Miami
04:46into the Florida Keys,
04:48you're a world away from the busy streets
04:50and traffic of the mainland.
04:52And first up is Key Largo,
04:54the largest of the Florida Keys
04:56and home to a natural odyssey.
04:58The world's first undersea park
05:00with coral reefs and sea life
05:02that the park's been protecting for over 50 years.
05:07Key Largo is the gateway to more than 1,700 islands.
05:12So, to really appreciate the scale and nature of this archipelago,
05:16we're not going down into the sea.
05:18We're going up into the sky
05:20for a gall's-eye view of the natural world.
05:23But this isn't going up, up and away in a helicopter or plane.
05:28We're going parasailing.
05:30I'm well up for it, but Aidan's not so sure.
05:34I'm a little bit nervous, I'm not going to lie.
05:37Aidan's really nervous, I've had a chat with him.
05:39The thing is, if two people parasail,
05:43it's more cost-effective.
05:44It's what my mum would call bulk buying.
05:47I need to get Aidan up in the air, pronto.
05:50I don't know how I'm going to do it.
05:53Money?
05:55I'll watch you do it.
05:57You can go and have some fun, Mum.
06:02No, I can't give him money.
06:04That would be cheating.
06:05So, I've told him, come out of the boat, no pressure.
06:08Let's just see what happens.
06:13I love a boat trip, don't you?
06:14Yeah, I enjoy it.
06:15I love a good boat trip.
06:16I don't know about going off the boat,
06:17but we'll see about that later.
06:18I'm using all my motherly powers of persuasion here.
06:23Peer pressure.
06:25Well, let's see someone else do it and then we'll decide, yeah?
06:27Yeah.
06:28Gentle cajoling.
06:30Do you know what, Mum?
06:31It would be nice to get up into the air and see the keys,
06:33cos it's a lovely view, yeah?
06:35I'll trust you on that.
06:37Emotional blackmail.
06:39Don't make me do it on me own.
06:40When you get back down, you can tell me how lovely the view is.
06:42Don't make me do it on me own.
06:43And finally, just Blooming ordering him to do it.
06:46You are going up.
06:48This is where I pull rank.
06:49I'm the mum.
06:50You're the son.
06:51You're getting up there.
06:52Mother and son who fly together, stay together.
06:58Oh, yes, this is it.
06:59This is it.
07:00Oh, it's got a little happy face on it.
07:02Look at the little happy face.
07:04Come on, hey, we've got to fly.
07:08Of course, the most eco-friendly way to see the natural wonders
07:11of the Florida Keys would probably be a hand glider.
07:15But that requires skill and a cliff.
07:18So parasailing is the way to go here.
07:21Enjoy, guys, enjoy!
07:23Powered by small boats, parasailing uses way less fuel
07:27than a helicopter or a plane, and it keeps noise to a minimum.
07:31Plus, no big landing pads or runways needed either.
07:35Just you, your trusty crew, the wind and the open sky.
07:39I love it!
07:41That is sick!
07:42That is sick!
07:43Best of all, seeing other people go first
07:47and live to tell the tale has convinced Aidan to give it a go.
07:51So, we both go up and the cost per person comes down.
07:56Well done, babes.
07:57Let's do this.
07:58Come on.
07:59Let's go.
08:00Let's go.
08:01Armed with a camera so we can capture our bird's eye view
08:04of this natural archipelago.
08:06We're about to go on the parasail.
08:08We're ready to show you nature in all its glory.
08:11Have fun.
08:12See you soon.
08:13Just hope Aidan doesn't embarrass me by screaming.
08:16Alright, not the most graceful of take-offs, but look at us now.
08:24Gliding and soaring into the clouds.
08:26And showing off the spectacle of the Florida Keys.
08:30Look at the view, eh?
08:32It's worth every penny.
08:34You really appreciate how clear the water is from up here.
08:39Look how shallow it is.
08:40Yeah, it's true.
08:41The sea directly beneath us is only about 20 feet deep.
08:45So you can see straight down to the seabed.
08:48This is amazing.
08:50The waters around Key Largo are home to hundreds of species of fish
08:55and marine life.
08:56And one of the world's most important coral reef ecosystems.
09:00This is incredible.
09:02If my eyesight was better, I might see a manatee down there
09:07or even a sea turtle or two.
09:09Is that a shark's airway?
09:11Where?
09:12I think it's a jet ski.
09:14The reef here is a natural barrier,
09:17protecting these islands from erosion and heavy storms.
09:20And this view, wow, it literally shows you the fine line here
09:25between precious and precarious.
09:28What an experience of me and you doing this.
09:30Yeah.
09:31Unbelievable.
09:32I'm really glad Aidan conquered his fears
09:35and that he didn't spot the parasol winch guy doing this
09:38while we're at our highest point.
09:42This is one of the most wonderful things I've ever done in my life.
09:45I don't want it to end.
09:46I do.
09:47I feel so happy I could cry.
09:48All too quickly, it's over and we're coming into land.
09:59Wow.
10:00Yes!
10:01That was a mess!
10:02That was the best!
10:03Welcome back, guys.
10:04How was it?
10:06It was amazing.
10:07How did you do, bud?
10:08It was good.
10:09Thank you, bud.
10:10Now I'm back here, I'm happy.
10:12Oh, well done, son.
10:13I'm so proud of you.
10:14Are you glad you did it?
10:15It was nice up there, but I couldn't stop thinking about the landing.
10:18Are you joking?
10:19Yeah, yeah, yeah.
10:20I was just constantly thinking about getting back now.
10:21Oh, it was amazing.
10:22It's one of the best things I've ever done.
10:23Now I'm sitting here, I enjoyed being up there.
10:25You've got to go head on into those fears, bud.
10:27It's true.
10:28And do that in your life as well.
10:29Anything that scares you, go for it.
10:31All right?
10:32Good.
10:34You're welcome.
10:35I love you.
10:36Aww.
10:37I reckon that ditching a helicopter view of the Florida Keys and opting for parasailing instead
10:42was a good choice.
10:43Having said that, I do need to take into account the noise pollution levels of the screams.
10:48So, let's not get too cocky, eh?
10:53Like my mum always said, pride comes before a fall, Babs.
11:01Is this where we're supposed to be?
11:03I think it's down there, sweetheart.
11:05Yeah, go down there.
11:06We set off with good green intentions.
11:09But you need more than that to drive the Florida Keys in an electric car.
11:13You can easily run out of power round here if you don't plan well ahead.
11:17Charging stations are thin on the ground in these parts compared to the mainland.
11:22With most of the chargers either up this way in Key Largo or way down the other end at Key West.
11:29So, to avoid being stranded on 0% charge, Aidan's on all-important battery duty.
11:39Charging's started.
11:40All right.
11:41While I'm on snack duty, making sure the driver and passenger are well topped up for the road ahead.
11:49Let's have a little shop, shall we?
11:51Now, Aidan and I love our meat.
11:54Veggie straws.
11:55But this shop, and what's this?
11:58Blue corn chips.
12:00Yeah.
12:01Yeah, he's gonna, he'll love those.
12:04I'm gonna look for some alternatives.
12:06Aidan really loves his meat.
12:08Burgers.
12:10And Coke.
12:12But do you know what?
12:13Today he's having cold-bressed mango flower juice.
12:16I never knew there were so many options out there.
12:19They've got a meat substitute.
12:22Fantastic.
12:23He loves beef jerky.
12:24But this one is plant-based jerky.
12:29I don't think he's even gonna notice.
12:31For a son who doesn't like seafood.
12:33Oh, what's this?
12:35Seaweed snacks.
12:37Mmm.
12:38I might be pushing things just a little bit too far.
12:41But let's see, shall we?
12:42Do you know what?
12:43It's actually, it feels really good to kind of not eat meat every single day.
12:48Do you know what I mean?
12:49So, send you a little lunch.
12:52Bananas.
12:53Lovely.
12:54I think we're done here.
12:57Thank you so much.
12:58That's it.
12:59And I reckon this will definitely make a change from the usual burgers.
13:04Not sure Aidan's gonna be happy, but do you know what?
13:05Food is food at the end of the day.
13:08I'm fearing the worst here.
13:10Because Aidan is probably dreaming of fried chicken and french fries.
13:14And so am I, if I'm honest.
13:16You alright?
13:17Been out hunting, gathering.
13:18What you got?
13:19I've got the most beautiful organic meal for you that you're gonna absolutely love.
13:23These are blue corn chips.
13:26Fantastic.
13:27Again, we've got some veggie straws.
13:29Nice.
13:30So far, so good.
13:31You're gonna love this Aidan.
13:32Plant-based jerky.
13:35Nice.
13:36He's either hiding his disappointment really well, or he's really, really hungry.
13:42No meat.
13:43Is that alright?
13:44Yeah, it's fine.
13:45Let's try this.
13:46Beef jerky thing.
13:48Plant-based.
13:49Tell me the truth.
13:50Is it nice?
13:51Honestly.
13:52Let me try.
13:53Pretty good.
13:56Mmm.
13:57Alright, yeah.
13:58I could do this more often.
14:00Mmm.
14:01That's alright.
14:02Did that do good?
14:03Yeah, you did.
14:04Thank you so much.
14:05Mmm.
14:06I feel like this eco-friendly lifestyle is for us.
14:09You know, we're charging the car.
14:10Got a little bit of time to kill.
14:12We're doing pretty well.
14:13And we're having a nice little picnic.
14:14Charging's started.
14:15Charging's started.
14:16That was started.
14:17Alright, love.
14:18Alright.
14:19Charging's started.
14:20Yeah, I get the message.
14:21Letting us know they're charging.
14:23Is she malfunctioning?
14:24I think so.
14:25You know, even though you sometimes can't get a word in edgeways with these electric cars.
14:30Charging's started.
14:32They're becoming more and more popular around here.
14:35America's been in love with gas guzzlers for decades.
14:38But times and weather are changing fast.
14:43Florida's been hit with some serious hurricanes in recent times.
14:46Like Hurricane Milton and Hurricane Helen.
14:50Scientists are warning that climate change is cranking up the heat on these storms.
14:55And it's not just the hurricanes that Floridians worry about.
14:58Down here in the Florida Keys, most of the land is barely a few feet above water.
15:04So even a small rise in sea level could leave these islands facing regular floods and put whole communities in jeopardy.
15:13So folks like Lindsay Peterson are rethinking the way they live.
15:17Lindsay's been cooking up quite the following with her food truck just south of Key Largo.
15:22Right off the overseas highway at Isla Morada.
15:25Her sustainable sandwiches really pack a punch.
15:29Especially her signature bar and me.
15:31Which has been going down an absolute storm with locals and tourists.
15:37When I moved down here six years ago, I wanted to do something that was for myself.
15:42So we ended up buying this little tiny food trailer.
15:45It's 12 feet long.
15:47Opening this food truck has just completely changed my life.
15:50So this is going to be our banh mi sandwich.
15:53We're going to throw some of our locally sourced watermelon radishes in here.
15:57Then we're going to go with some jalapenos for the spice.
16:01And then some carrots for a little bit more crunch and earthiness.
16:06And we're going to let that sit while we prepare everything else.
16:08We've gotten through some of the toughest times down here when other restaurants were closing.
16:14We stayed afloat.
16:16And we're going to let that baby toast.
16:19And we're going to go ahead and throw our tofu on as well.
16:22The majority of our customer base is not vegan.
16:27Most of them are carnivores.
16:29And it's actually really surprising when people try the food, they're kind of taken back at how vegetables can taste so good.
16:37And we just like to crust this with cumin and salt.
16:40I don't know why you've not had good vegetables before, but I'm glad I could make it happen for you.
16:47More recently, I've noticed a lot of people who are visiting here on holiday.
16:54They're really taking the time to make sure that they're taking care of the environment while they're on vacation.
16:59You know, they're not leaving trash everywhere.
17:03They're choosing to buy water that's in compostable containers or glass containers.
17:08They're taking care of our environment here because everybody who lives here, we all do that.
17:12We're all deeply invested in what happens here because at the end of the day, if our environment isn't taken care of, we can't be taken care of.
17:21We're going to flip our tofu.
17:22I think that people hear the word veganism and they automatically think of a radical idea where you have to completely change your life.
17:30And that's not what we're trying to do.
17:32We're trying to make people realize that you don't have to be vegan all the time.
17:36Give it a shot.
17:37You might be, you know, pleasantly surprised at what you really like and, you know, what is out there.
17:44Now we're going to go ahead and take our tofu and we're going to lay it on the sandwich.
17:50And this is really just such a beautiful sandwich because it's so vibrant in colour and it's all natural.
18:02And that's our banh mi sandwich.
18:09Wherever you go in the Florida Keys, you're never too far from a lovely sea view.
18:13Oh, I should take a picture, take a picture.
18:16Which is making Aidan snappy.
18:18Go on, that is lovely.
18:20In more ways than one.
18:21Lovely picture.
18:22Thank you both.
18:24The Florida Keys stretch out like a fishing line cast into the Gulf of Mexico.
18:29The islands are so teeny tiny that most of the time it's just you, the road and the ocean on either side.
18:35As you cruise along the overseas highway, the islands in this northern half of the Florida Keys sit on an ancient coral reef, which is a natural playground for all sorts of marine life.
18:48Fish, dolphins and sea turtles.
18:50Fish, dolphins and sea turtles.
18:51But the Keys are also an attractive environment for watersport lovers, anglers, sailors, divers and travellers.
19:03Getting the wildlife safe is a tricky old balancing act.
19:06And marine life can often come off second best.
19:09That's why in Marathon, right at the heart of the Keys, you'll find a hospital that's been rescuing and rehabilitating injured sea turtles since 1986.
19:20We've arrived at visiting time.
19:22Hello.
19:23Hi.
19:24And hospital manager Betty Zirkelback is going to introduce us to some of her patients.
19:30How many turtles do you get?
19:31Right now we have about 40 sea turtles, but we get anywhere from 100 to 120 a year and we've had as many as 200 at one time.
19:39And how are they all doing at the minute?
19:41Some are okay, some are critical care, just like in a human hospital.
19:44We have our ICU and then we have our patients that are doing better than others and then we have what we call non-releasables and they're our permanent residents and they are actually blood donors for other sick turtles.
19:53Aww.
19:54So what is the like routine that you go to to bring the turtles here?
19:58I have an incredibly dedicated animal care team.
20:00They live on site.
20:01We man a hotline for strandings seven days a week, 365 days a year.
20:07So six out of 10 of our rescue calls actually come from people just like you that come through our center and are out on the water and they call us when they see a sick sea turtle.
20:15We respond, we have ambulances, believe it or not, for sea turtles and we go to the dock and pick up the turtle.
20:20If we need to go out to sea, we get on the boat.
20:23Okay, well I don't know what a sick turtle looks like.
20:25Neither.
20:26Can we see some turtles?
20:27We can see, you want to come meet some patients?
20:28Yes, please do.
20:29All right, let's go.
20:30Just like a human hospital, they've got operating theatres here so they can do all kinds of turtle surgery.
20:37And then there's the intensive care unit where sick or injured turtles can recuperate.
20:43Every turtle gets a name here.
20:45So no doubt this little guy will have an exotic and impressive turtle name like Donatello or Leonardo or...
20:54Cute.
20:55And this is Bob.
20:56Or Bob.
20:58Who gets to name them?
20:59So the rescuers get to name them, which is a really nice benefit of rescuing a turtle.
21:04Oh, so cute.
21:05And Bob is what we call juvenile green sea turtle.
21:08There are seven species of sea turtles in the world and we're lucky enough to see five of those species in and around the Florida Keys.
21:14He looks pretty healthy.
21:15What's wrong with him?
21:16Yeah, so Bob had these horrific tumours and also had some entanglement.
21:21You can see some fishing line there.
21:23Oh yeah.
21:24But the good news is Bob is tumour free and soon to be returned to his ocean.
21:28Oh, that's so lovely.
21:30So that really is the goal with every turtle that comes into the turtle hospital is to try to get it healthy enough to go back to the wild.
21:36And he's doing really well, our Bob.
21:38You can see how strong he's swimming. He's actually playing a little bit over there.
21:41Bob is actually going to be released probably within the next two weeks.
21:44What's the procedure of releasing a turtle?
21:46So we make a big event of it. We invite the general public. We go to a local beach and we'll take Bob.
21:52And we'll take about 15 minutes to educate the public on Bob and cases like Bob.
21:57And then we'll set him in the sand and he'll go out to sea.
22:02As well as releasing turtles like Bob back into the wild, the hospital's rescue and rehabilitation team make sure as many newborn turtles as possible make it to the ocean.
22:13Today, Tom Higgins is leading a team on Sombrero Beach as they check out a nest that hatched out 48 hours ago.
22:22The reason we do that is we not only want to get down there and we want to get a count on how many eggs hatched, how many eggs did not hatch.
22:28But every once in a while, we do find a live turtle that is stuck down there in the hole, maybe stuck in some weeds.
22:33A careful excavation reveals good news. An empty nest and lots of empty shells. So all the hatchlings look like they took the right path.
22:45We got down to what is considered the cup, which is as far as the female can kind of get those flippers down and it becomes hard again.
22:51The sand actually changes. As we're digging through there, it's very soft and you can tell where she's been.
22:56Once we get down to the bottom of the cup, we can determine that the entire area has been flared out.
23:00So this nest was a success and it's hats off to the latest generation of little turtles from Sombrero Beach.
23:08Found 82 eggs that had hatched out. Only one egg did not hatch out and luckily this time there were no hatchlings left in there so all their little scurry marks made it down to the water the other morning.
23:18Back at the hospital, it's time for some spa treatment. And much as I'd love a facial and some massage therapy, this is a session for a loggerhead turtle.
23:28Her name is Medea. And after a slow but dignified exit from the water that I can totally relate to, it's time for Tom to begin her treatment.
23:40Aww.
23:44A few years ago, Medea was struck by a boat and suffered what you might call a pretty severe shell shock.
23:51You can actually still see the propeller marks here. You'll see that a little bit better once we get her cleaned up.
23:57But she is leaving a happy and healthy life. She is an ambassador for her species now, so that's what she will be for the rest of her life.
24:05Is she trying to say hello to us? She absolutely is. Hello.
24:08So we're going to get started on the scrub here. And what are you scrubbing off? What is that?
24:12It is a little bit of algal growth that will happen naturally. In the wild, she would have things like cleaner fish and cleaner shrimp out there on the ocean floor, out there by the reef.
24:22And they would help keep her clean a little bit. She's going to spend a little bit more time on the surface here because of her injuries.
24:27So that's why we're just getting her cleaned up. These are soft wire brushes. They do not hurt the turtle in any way.
24:32We're just kind of getting that little dirt layer and algae off of her.
24:36With the algae scrubbed away, you can see the damage where the boat propeller sliced into Medea's shell.
24:42That is actually the top of her lung.
24:44No! Yes. So this whole area was open at one point.
24:48But it slowly... It could. It slowly fills in over time.
24:52Because of her injuries, Medea will be at the hospital for the rest of her life.
24:56But with a spa session every week, there are worse places for a turtle to be.
25:01I think she's enjoying this. She absolutely is. Their shells are very tactile, meaning they feel everything that we're doing.
25:07And they actually very much like the scrubbing.
25:09So why is it important for people to visit the hospital?
25:12Well, the admission that is derived from coming into the hospital goes back to the care of these beautiful animals.
25:18We can see anywhere from five to six hundred people per day come through these doors.
25:23But it also gets a great appreciation for the sea turtles.
25:26And that's what we really want to do is educate the public about these beautiful animals
25:30and what they can do to help save them in the future from what is going on with their species right now.
25:35A simple thing we can all do to help the wildlife of the Florida Keys is to take all of our trash and plastics away with us.
25:43Sea turtles often mistake the rubbish we leave behind for food, which can choke them or block them up and lead to starvation.
25:51While discarded fishing lines and nets can be a deadly tangle trap.
25:56So just not leaving rubbish on the beach would mean far fewer turtles dying prematurely or ending up here at the hospital.
26:04All right, so we're going to finish off with her beautiful head here.
26:09Get that scrub down just a little bit. Get that little bit of algae off there as well.
26:13Get your hair done. Come on.
26:15Because we want to make sure that we keep her as beautiful as possible.
26:19And Tom, do you love them all equally or have you got your own favourites?
26:23Of course we absolutely love them all equally.
26:25All right, so Medea may be one of my favourites.
26:28She has been here for five years. She's been here all the time that I've been here.
26:33And when she first came in, I kind of spent a lot of time with her in the very beginning.
26:37And she is a fantastic version of the already wonderful loggerhead sea turtle.
26:42Is she going back to her little home now?
26:44Yes.
26:45Let's get her back in.
26:48And so Medea, the magnificent lady loggerhead, returns to the water refreshed after a super spa session.
26:56Aw.
26:57Aw, it's so lovely. Having a little swim in her own little home now.
27:01Mm-hm.
27:04A happy way to end our trip, where we try to keep an eye on the green without dipping into the red.
27:12Do you think we've had an eco-friendly day on a budget?
27:14I think we have. I mean, look at the car we've got.
27:17Yeah, that's true. Eco-friendly.
27:18It's actually made me think I might get an electric car when I go back home, you know.
27:21Yeah.
27:22And we're not eating any meat, we're being sustainable.
27:24Oh, yeah.
27:25Did you enjoy that? I did, I really did.
27:26And no helicopters I view of the Florida Keys for us.
27:29Can I just say how proud I am that you actually went parasailing.
27:33You were braver than me.
27:34I know I was some, but you know what, that ten years ago, I don't think I would have gone up on that.
27:39Why's that?
27:40So I was a little bit bigger, do you know what I mean?
27:42Now I've lost a little bit of weight, you know, carving up, taking away some of the timber base.
27:48I was able to just do it with ease, so for me, it was like living life.
27:51Did you enjoy that?
27:52Absolutely loved it, honestly, it was great.
27:54I'm glad you were happy.
27:56I'm glad you were happy.
27:57And do you know what the best bit is?
27:59Go on.
28:00That view, right in front of us.
28:03Now that is what you call sunset sun.
28:05Sunset sun.
28:06set, son.
28:36.
