00:00Woo-hoo!
00:03The Hammonds are here!
00:05Travel is in my blood.
00:07Let's go.
00:08This is the best.
00:09For years I worked as a tour rep,
00:11following in the footsteps of my dear lovely mob,
00:14a hard-working, no-nonsense travel agent.
00:17Thanks to our money-saving tips,
00:19we managed to budget our way to a place that totally captured our hearts.
00:23Look at this! Look at this!
00:25Florida.
00:26I love it!
00:27I was born for Little Havana.
00:30And now the Sunshine State is a big draw for me.
00:33Sorry, I'm still on your foot.
00:35And my son, Aidan.
00:37Good job, y'all.
00:38You see him, mate?
00:39Yeah.
00:41But with holiday prices rising...
00:43Oh, my goodness. I'm in heaven.
00:46Can you do Florida...
00:48without breaking the bank?
00:50$4.99 for these.
00:52Oh, yes, Aidan!
00:54Oh, yes, Aidan!
00:55Help you, Mum.
00:56Otherwise, just get out.
00:57It's the best day of my life.
01:00I don't know about you, but when I think of Miami,
01:12one place shoots straight to the top of the list.
01:15Miami Beach.
01:17This seven-mile-long barrier island just off mainland Miami,
01:21dotted with pricey hotels and restaurants,
01:24is the coastal resort city of America.
01:27I'm a kid of the 80s,
01:29when Miami Vice was just about the coolest thing on telly.
01:32A forbidden treat that I sneakily would watch
01:35when Mum wasn't looking.
01:37And now, here I am.
01:39And for once, I don't have to fake my photos.
01:42The sand, the sea, the architecture.
01:45It's an influencer's paradise.
01:48Oh, can you believe we're on Miami Beach, Aidan?
01:51I know.
01:52How cool is this?
01:53It's really cool.
01:54I feel like Will Smith.
01:55We need to do, like, a music video or something like that.
01:57Do you know what I mean?
01:58Speedboat, you name it.
02:01Over 20 million tourists come to Miami Beach every year
02:05to live their best and probably most expensive lives
02:08because prices are super hot here.
02:11You can burn through skyscrapers of cash in a flash.
02:14So, we really need to be careful.
02:16I'm worried, you know.
02:17That's what I like.
02:18I love it.
02:19A bit of money rolling around.
02:20I like that.
02:21Yeah, but aren't we on a budget, babes?
02:22Yeah, good point.
02:24We can't overspend here.
02:26So, to avoid that particular kind of Miami Vice,
02:29we need to engage beach bargain mode
02:32and turn our flip-flop frugality all the way to the max.
02:36Cos this is going to be our biggest money-saving challenge yet.
02:41To find out what makes Miami Beach so iconic
02:43and to do it on a budget.
02:46So, what are we going to do?
02:47How are we going to get around this stuff?
02:49Hmm, I don't know.
02:50Actually, I do.
02:51I think I've got an idea.
02:52What's that?
02:53Follow me.
02:54There are many ways you can get around here.
02:57The Minty do it in fantastically flash Megabucks motors.
03:01With supercar prices at around $1,500 a day,
03:05that's well out of our league.
03:07And Aidan's got more sense than money.
03:09We're on a bike, as it should.
03:12There we go.
03:14Ready?
03:15So, he's hiring a slightly less pricey set of wheels
03:18for the two of us.
03:19Miami Bikes.
03:21This is such a good idea, eh?
03:22I love it.
03:23Oh, this is the best.
03:26Mother and son.
03:29I love it.
03:30A little bit of bonding time.
03:31Yes, baby.
03:32Come on.
03:34Keep up, fam.
03:35Keep up.
03:36For less than the price of a double shot ice coconut latte
03:41with turmeric and oat milk, you can rent a bike for an hour here.
03:45If you're under 16, it's Florida's law to wear a cycle helmet.
03:49And this designated cycle superhighway is perfect for getting around.
03:54Everyone's doing all their exercise.
03:56Look.
03:57Roller skates.
03:58Yeah, I love it.
03:59Walking.
04:00They've all got their tops off.
04:01Woo-hoo!
04:02I love Miami Beach!
04:07This massive stretch of eye-watering, expensive real estate
04:11is especially vulnerable to climate change and sea level rises.
04:15So they've spent millions raising roads and installing pumps here.
04:19But the expansion of bike lanes across Miami Beach
04:22is one of the most obvious signs that this place
04:25is taking its green credentials seriously.
04:28And since the cycling trails run right beside the beach,
04:31as well as burning off some calories,
04:33we're also getting a better view than we would in a $20 taxi ride.
04:38It's a good exercise.
04:39Yeah.
04:40It's a lot more affordable.
04:41Yeah.
04:42And you get to see all the sights.
04:44You really do.
04:45You also save yourself the price of parking,
04:48which, if you want a secure spot for your swanky motor,
04:52can be up to $100 an hour.
04:55Which is probably why so many locals choose to get around here
04:58under their own steam.
05:00That's why everyone looks so fit.
05:02Yeah.
05:03Whereas me in Birmingham.
05:05Getting a car everywhere.
05:07I can't remember the last time I was on a bike,
05:10but I know for sure the last time Aidan was on a bike,
05:13it had stabilisers on it.
05:15I'm loving it.
05:16I'm loving it.
05:18Cycling along from one end to the other
05:21really helps you get a handle on the geography of a place.
05:24And by now, you know that that was one of my favourite subjects at school.
05:28Woo-hoo!
05:29Miami Beach is basically three beaches on an island,
05:33with the Atlantic Ocean on the east side
05:35and Biscayne Bay on the west.
05:37North Beach is where you find the kind of plush residential apartment
05:41where the movie stars would be right at home.
05:44Then you've got Mid Beach with its giant historic hotels,
05:48where Goldfinger lost his card game
05:51and a Bond girl got covered in gold paint.
05:54And right at the bottom you've got South Beach,
05:57the trendiest and most visited part of the island.
06:00So naturally, that's where we're going.
06:02Oh, I could get used to this.
06:06Yeah, that's safe.
06:07Shall we move to Miami?
06:08Yeah, let's move to Miami.
06:10Yeah, let's master staying here on a budget first, shall we,
06:14before we think about moving here.
06:19Mind you, it looks like there are plenty of hotels to choose from
06:22in South Beach.
06:23All of them well out of our price range,
06:25because this is probably the most famous ma in all of Miami.
06:31Hey, look where we are, man.
06:33Ocean Drive.
06:34Isn't it lovely?
06:35It's lovely.
06:36With its iconic pastel-coloured art deco buildings and hotels,
06:40Ocean Drive is one of the most photographed streets in America.
06:44So when in South Beach...
06:46Oh, what is it doing, what?
06:49Got the palm tree and everything.
06:52Isn't it nice?
06:53Shall we go and have a look?
06:54Yeah, let's go have a look.
06:55You might think this place has always been cool,
06:57but back in the 70s,
06:59South Beach had fallen into disrepair.
07:02Many of these famous art deco buildings
07:05had become cheap retirement homes for the elderly,
07:07or just abandoned.
07:09The neighbourhood was known more for drugs and crime
07:12than for beauty and glamour.
07:14So to find out more about the complicated past lives
07:17of these iconic buildings,
07:19we're taking a tour with Mark Gordon
07:21from the Miami Design Preservation League.
07:24Shall we start with this Leslie building?
07:26Tell us about that.
07:27Sure, we'll start with the Leslie.
07:28So the Leslie's a good example
07:30of what art deco buildings looked in the beginning.
07:33Art deco buildings in Miami Beach
07:35typically are three by three.
07:38OK, that means they're three sections
07:40and three storeys tall.
07:42Miami Beach code back then said that if a building
07:45was taller than three storeys tall,
07:47it would require an elevator.
07:49So they were building for the middle class
07:51and trying to keep expenses low.
07:53And then art deco is three-part, tri-part.
07:56So you walk in the center vertical
07:58and the rooms are on the right and the left.
08:00Then over the windows, you have something,
08:03we call them eyebrows.
08:05But this time of day, it keeps the sun out.
08:07And then they have a roof line and we call that a ziggurat.
08:11Now, if you notice, if you move to the side,
08:13you can see that there's a swimming pool up there,
08:16there's a bar, there's cabanas,
08:18but you can't see it from the center
08:20because rules of preservation prevent that from happening.
08:24It's hard to believe it now, but 50 years ago,
08:27developers were determined to demolish the art deco buildings here
08:30until a forward-thinking woman called Barbara Bayer Capitman came along.
08:35With unstoppable determination,
08:37she led the charge to save the art deco district
08:40from becoming just another square mile of high-rise hotels.
08:44Her campaign to make this area the first 20th century neighborhood
08:48on America's National Register of Historic Places
08:52helped preserve 800 distinctive buildings
08:55and saved Miami Beach's soul.
08:58And because of Barbara, people like Mark carry the torch today,
09:02keeping these beauties standing tall.
09:05Now, there is a need to preserve these buildings, though, isn't there?
09:08There is a need, and that's what our organization does.
09:11And all the money we raise at our museum,
09:13our welcome center from fundraisers goes towards preservation.
09:17You can tell you've got a real passion for it, it's lovely.
09:20This is what I think about when I think about a Miami building,
09:22this type of building.
09:23It's lovely, it's beautiful.
09:24But tell me a little bit about this one.
09:25This one's matching my outfit.
09:26The Carlisle Hotel is pretty famous,
09:28so that's what I call the second generation of art deco buildings.
09:32So, if you notice, that building has more curves.
09:34We call it streamlined modern.
09:36The Carlisle is famous because that's where the movie The Birdcage was filmed.
09:40And that's another great way to become iconic, isn't it?
09:44Just grab yourself a starring role on the big screen.
09:48When South Beach started showing up in movies, pop videos and fashion shoots in the 80s and 90s,
09:54it went from a bit dodgy to full on glam.
09:57Artists, designers and photographers flocked here.
10:00And then came Gianni Versace, buying his famous mansion and sprinkling a bit of high-end chic over the whole place.
10:08His murder in 1997 was a brutal reminder of the area's darker days.
10:14But now, it's all part of the South Beach story.
10:18Glam, grit and a little bit of everything else in between.
10:22These vibrant buildings are firmly embedded in popular culture now.
10:27But amazingly, they weren't vibrant at all to begin with.
10:31They were all painted white, and the colours were only added later for a bit of Miami glam.
10:39Because back in the old days, white paint was A, reflected the sun, and B, white was the cheapest paint.
10:45Well, let's talk about this white building. It's owned by someone really famous, isn't it?
10:49Very famous, yeah. That building's called the Cordozas, and it's owned by Gloria and Amelia Estefan.
10:56She bought it, he and her husband bought it in 1992.
10:59She grew up here, and she had always been in love with that hotel.
11:03Wow.
11:04Until they recently did a $15 million renovation of the building.
11:08A $15 million renovation.
11:11Now, that's what I call an expensive architectural facelift.
11:15Nice car. Look at that.
11:16But he slowed right down. Did you get that a lot?
11:18Yeah, we get that a lot.
11:20And most of the time, they don't own the cars.
11:22They rent the Lamborghinis and the Ferraris from these places to look like they're rich,
11:27and then they turn them back in.
11:29You're joking.
11:30No.
11:31Probably the largest amount of high-end rental car places in the country.
11:36People just want to pretend there's somebody else coming for long weekends.
11:40There's a lot of pretending going on here in Miami Beach.
11:45Pretending to be rich, pretending to be cool, pretending to be fit and healthy.
11:50Oh, well, actually, I don't think this lot is pretending.
11:53This looks pretty genuine to me.
11:55Genuinely ridiculous.
11:57Because it's the middle of the day.
11:59It's blazing hot.
12:00Humidity is 100%.
12:02And I'm not kidding.
12:03I'm working up a sweat just standing here watching this.
12:06Phew.
12:07Lovely work, boys.
12:10Lovely work.
12:11This is Loomis Park, where fitness meets fashion under a flaming hot sun.
12:17It's where the Beach Body Ready locals hang out.
12:20Literally.
12:21There's all sorts here.
12:23From bodybuilders pumping iron, to athletic tights striking impossible poses,
12:28to tree climbers, to skateboarders, to meditators,
12:32and even the odd tourists brave enough, or should that be stupid enough, to join you.
12:40All right, Matt, so tell me a little bit about this slacklining.
12:42How would you do this?
12:43So, to get to that, you want to start here.
12:45OK.
12:46This is the Gibboard, right?
12:47First thing you do, stand here.
12:49You want to look at something that's not moving.
12:51OK.
12:52Let's try it.
12:53I don't know how I'm going to be.
12:54I don't know what my balance is like.
12:56Tap behind you.
12:57Yeah, perfect.
12:58Ooh.
12:59This is great.
13:00It's going to build up the balance and stability.
13:02It's actually quite hard.
13:03You've got to really concentrate.
13:06But this isn't just about fitness.
13:08This is about being seen.
13:10So, although it feels like a fitness class on the surface of the sun,
13:14you've got to look cool doing it.
13:16Which means Aidan needs to bring his A-game here.
13:19I think I'm better on my left foot slightly.
13:21Yeah, I think I'm a little bit better.
13:23I feel more comfortable on my left foot.
13:25I may not look it, but I feel it.
13:29Like any decent gym, there's a range of equipment that you can use
13:32and loads of expert help on hand if you need it.
13:35But best of all, this whole Miami Muscle Beach experience
13:39is not going to strain our budget to breaking point.
13:42In fact, if we worked hard, we'd be gaining pounds here.
13:46It's a good gym here.
13:47So, how much does it cost to become a member?
13:48It's actually free.
13:49It's free to be here?
13:50Yeah.
13:51Oh, wow.
13:52It's not different in the UK.
13:53In the UK, this would be about 40 quid.
13:55$40 to be a member here.
13:57Yeah, no.
13:58We're lucky to have this.
13:59Yeah.
14:00So, it's just on the beach and anyone can come down?
14:01Yeah.
14:02Actually, I think you're ready to get on to the start.
14:03I was just going to say, am I ready for this?
14:05Let's do it.
14:06I want to give it a go.
14:07While Aidan takes his skills up a level.
14:10Okay, I'm up.
14:11There you go.
14:13Time for me to exercise my vocal chords.
14:17Ten more.
14:18Ten.
14:19Nine.
14:20Eight.
14:21Seven.
14:22Six.
14:23Five.
14:24Four.
14:25Three.
14:26Two.
14:27One.
14:28Yes, well done, guys.
14:29Well done.
14:30I'm impressed.
14:32There's a lot of impressive facetes here.
14:35And there's Big Tony.
14:36Hi, Big Tony.
14:37Yes!
14:38You can see why they call him Big Tony.
14:43But perhaps the most impressive of all is this guy.
14:49His name is Robert Craft.
14:51But he's better known round these parts as Raven.
14:54And he's basically a living, breathing South Beach icon.
14:59Because, so the legend goes, he's been doing daily workouts on Miami Beach since January
15:05the 1st, 1975.
15:07Tell me what goes on on Miami Beach.
15:10It's like a three ring circus.
15:12You look one way, you see a skateboard and a dog.
15:15Another, you see a bikini.
15:17Then you see a person talking to himself.
15:19There's always something going on here.
15:20So tell me a little bit about your raging.
15:22I come here every day.
15:23I do my pull-ups, my chin-ups, my asymmetric hang, push-ups, my arm stretches.
15:29And then I ride my bike home and I do my run.
15:32And do you ever miss a day, Raven?
15:34Never miss a day.
15:35In how many years?
15:3649 years and eight months.
15:37Wow.
15:38You are dedicated.
15:39Every single day.
15:40Do you ever go on holiday?
15:41Every day is vacation.
15:42This is your way.
15:43Everyone wants to be here.
15:44Yeah.
15:45As well as his daily workout, Raven runs along Miami Beach for eight miles every day.
15:51And in that time, he's clocked up over 125,000 miles.
15:56That's like running around the world five times.
15:59If I was a beginner, what would you suggest I did to get into this sort of thing?
16:03I would say, well, for running, I would just say walking.
16:06Then add miles.
16:07And for the weights, you just use light weights and then you make them heavier.
16:11If you're doing push-ups, you do a small amount and you just add to it.
16:15Same with the pull-ups, everything.
16:16How big a part is fitness for the Miami Beach lifestyle?
16:20Well, it should be the biggest part of all.
16:23Some people like the party part.
16:26But for me, this is all about fitness.
16:28And what is more conducive to be on the sand, have these bars, have the weights,
16:33have other people doing the same thing?
16:35We inspire each other.
16:36What has fitness done for you?
16:38It saved my life.
16:40It's my saviour.
16:41Really?
16:42Oh, I came back from Nashville an angry young man when I was 19 years old.
16:47I was searching for something and I started running and working out.
16:51It calmed me down, first mentally, and after a while physically,
16:56then it becomes a spiritual thing.
16:57I think you've sold it to everyone.
16:59Raven's transformation pretty much mirrors the transformation of Loomis Park itself.
17:06Like the rest of South Beach, it was a place most people avoided in 1975.
17:11But just like the bodybuilders who come here, Loomis Park has transformed itself.
17:16It's bulked up and chilled out.
17:18And now it's a place where men and women of all ages and abilities can work out.
17:23So the time for talking is over.
17:26Time for the Hammernator to deliver.
17:28Raven, let's do some work, man.
17:30Come on.
17:31Give me ten.
17:32Ten?
17:33I'll do ten with you.
17:34Come on, bud.
17:35One.
17:36Two.
17:37Three.
17:38Four.
17:39Five.
17:40Six.
17:41Seven.
17:42Eight.
17:43Nine.
17:44Ten.
17:45The thing is, you can do this for free in your own house as well, can't you?
17:48You could, you could.
17:49But it's so much nicer.
17:50It's more, yeah.
17:51It's nicer on the sand.
17:52It is.
17:53It's warm.
17:54It's nice and soft.
17:55It almost gives you a little balance.
17:56And a nice soft landing if you fall.
17:58So, time to see if Aidan's got his balancing act sorted on the slap line.
18:03Maybe you're a natural.
18:05Yes, Aidan.
18:06I don't know how I'm going to get dazzled up there.
18:09Okay.
18:10Don't worry.
18:11Maybe go backward.
18:12Maybe go backwards, okay.
18:13Yes.
18:14Well done, Aidan.
18:15There you go.
18:16There you go.
18:17Do it again.
18:18Do it again.
18:19Do it again.
18:20Again.
18:21It's your turn.
18:22I will have a go.
18:24No problem, bab.
18:26I'm buzzing.
18:27So, without any practice whatsoever, I'm taking on the high line.
18:32Although high might be a slight saturation here.
18:36Nice.
18:37I'm not on the floor.
18:38I'm so heavy.
18:39I'm just walking.
18:42Remember, you want to dance your knees.
18:44Yes.
18:45And now to dismount with style, elegance and panache.
18:51Oh, that's enough.
18:55Okay.
18:57That's enough.
18:58I enjoyed it though.
18:59It was good, wasn't it?
19:00I didn't even need the training, did I?
19:02The thing I'm really enjoying about this place, apart from the fact that it's free,
19:06is that it's not intimidating at all.
19:08There's lots of smiling going on and a lot of encouragement.
19:12No, that's not happening.
19:14And a sense of whatever you want to do, you can actually give it a go.
19:18Yay!
19:19Go on.
19:20Nice, Mum.
19:21Go on then.
19:22It's so hard!
19:25Yes!
19:26Go on, do it again, Mum.
19:27So good!
19:28Do it again, Mum.
19:29That's enough.
19:30On top of that, some of the skills and acrobatics on show here are the sorts of things I'd pay
19:40money to see.
19:41Oh, my gosh!
19:42Oh, my God!
19:43Look at him!
19:44Yes!
19:45That is crazy.
19:46Well done!
19:47Well done!
19:48I think we might have to clock up a few more sessions yet before we match some of these
19:53guys.
19:54You'll go.
19:55Do you want to try something?
19:58Not really.
19:59Go on, see if you can do it.
20:00I don't know what, you just swing.
20:01I can swing on it.
20:02Go on, yes, son!
20:03Yes!
20:04Yes, baby!
20:05It's actually so hard.
20:06Well done.
20:07All that's left to do now is the obligatory pose, but me and Aiden are keeping our tops
20:26on.
20:27Modesty is the word here.
20:29Don't want to put the others to shame.
20:31Do you know what I mean?
20:36Our mission to max out Miami Beach without maxing out our money has gone well so far.
20:45But now comes the biggest challenge of all, somewhere to stay.
20:50Recently, a perfect storm of construction slowdowns, rising energy costs and inflation
20:56has sent hotel prices here through the roof.
21:00Miami Beach room rates have risen by over 50%, and if you want to be right on the beach,
21:05it's even pricier.
21:07A basic room in the Fontainebleau in the off-season will set you back over £300 a night.
21:14But I've discovered you don't have to blow your budget to stay close to the beach and
21:18still stop over in style.
21:20Well, where we're staying tonight, Aiden, you're going to absolutely love it.
21:24Why is that?
21:25Well, because a very famous Leonardo DiCaprio stayed here.
21:29Really?
21:30Yeah, really.
21:31So if it's good enough for Leo, it's good enough for the Hammonds.
21:34Come on, Pam.
21:36Thank you, darling.
21:37You're very welcome.
21:38Hello.
21:39Hi there.
21:40Checking in for the Hammonds.
21:42Hammonds?
21:43All right.
21:44This place is in North Beach, the quieter, more laid-back cousin of South Beach.
21:49Here, the vibe is more chilled and less flash.
21:52It's more about relaxing in nature with wide, open green spaces and beachfront paths.
21:58But don't be fooled.
22:00It still comes with those classic Miami price tags for its chic beachfront hotels and condos.
22:06So it's not exactly a bargain hunter's paradise.
22:09We're just a ten-minute walk from the beach, so Aiden is convinced that the only way to
22:14stay here cheaply is to share a room.
22:17The room will be located 2201.
22:20Oh, lovely.
22:22But there's no way I'm putting up with his snoring, so we've got a room each.
22:262204.
22:27Thank you very much.
22:29But there is a little twist.
22:31I forgot to tell you.
22:32Yeah?
22:33This is actually a hostel.
22:34Really?
22:35It is.
22:36So we're not sharing a room?
22:37No, we're not sharing.
22:38Come and have a look.
22:40Hostelling's had a serious makeover here.
22:42With places like this making budget travel a bit posh.
22:46It's not just for backpackers anymore.
22:49Families, groups of mates, even business travellers are all checking into hostels,
22:54looking for that sweet spot of affordability and comfort.
22:58Oh, look at the pool.
22:59It's lovely.
23:00How nice is this?
23:01Might have a swim later.
23:03It actually is really nice.
23:04With private rooms, cool communal spaces and even the odd celeb dropping by.
23:09Hostels are attracting people who want to save some pennies without missing out on that Miami
23:15beach vibe.
23:16I actually can't wait to see the rooms.
23:17Really?
23:18Yeah, come on.
23:19Oh, you're going to love it, darling.
23:20You look great online, put it that way.
23:21Yeah.
23:22But this is affordable luxury.
23:23Really?
23:24You can keep costs really low here by sharing rooms.
23:28But if you book well in advance, you can get a great deal on a room of your own.
23:33You can't believe this is a hostel.
23:34Nice.
23:35How nice is this?
23:36Oh, look.
23:37Shuffleboard.
23:38Nice.
23:39Oh, stop it.
23:40It's absolutely stunning.
23:41Nice deal as well.
23:42Lovely.
23:43Let's go have a look at your room.
23:44Look at your little fridge.
23:45Look at this.
23:46Oh, my God, it's so nice.
23:47Any snacks in there?
23:48No snacks.
23:49Of course, if you book your Miami Beach day at the most cost-effective times of the year,
24:00you'll save even more money.
24:03The summer months are too hot and sticky for many, and peak hurricane season too,
24:07so it's worth double-checking all the weather forecasts and weather warnings
24:11before you book your Florida break.
24:15Oh, nice.
24:16God, look how big my room is.
24:18I've got, like, a little living room.
24:20Your room's more like an adult room.
24:22I've got the playful room.
24:23You've got the baby room.
24:24Look at your bed.
24:25Nice.
24:26Oh, my God, I can't believe this is a hostel.
24:28Look at my bed.
24:29Do you know what?
24:30Lovely.
24:31I don't want to share with you guys.
24:32I'm going to be fine in here.
24:33I can see the river.
24:34Look how beautiful the view is.
24:36Look, I've got a kitchen.
24:37Oh, stop it.
24:38Look at this.
24:39Lovely.
24:40Can you watch TV here?
24:42I'd like to live here.
24:43This is actually nicer than my house.
24:46What's in there?
24:48The bathroom is everything.
24:50I love it.
24:51Do you know what?
24:52We should do more affordable things in general.
24:56The only thing that concerns me is that, like most things in life, if a hostel seems too good to be true, it usually is.
25:04Do you reckon people are going to come in and just start sleeping in my room with me?
25:09As the night goes on, they'll be like opening the door, I'll be like, hello.
25:14I think all this money saving in Miami Beach is slightly going to my head now.
25:19And now I've got a feeling this was Leonardo DiCaprio's room.
25:23It's like we're sleeping together.
25:26You and Leonardo.
25:28So, time for me to reveal to Aidan the actual cost of this place.
25:33How much is it going to set us back?
25:35Well, you'd be surprised.
25:36Across the road, same view, see the river, everything, right?
25:40$420 a night to stay in that hotel.
25:43OK.
25:44Your room?
25:45Yeah.
25:46$113.
25:47That's really good.
25:48And you can also get rooms at $20 if you share with someone else.
25:51Not bad at all.
25:52It's alright, isn't it?
25:53It's really good.
25:54We've got a bargain base.
25:55We've absolutely smashed it.
25:57And now, time to reveal the ultimate twist.
26:00A little secret that I've been keeping from Aidan.
26:03We could save a little bit more money.
26:05How can we do that?
26:06We could work for the actual hostel.
26:08What, like cleaning dishes?
26:10No, not cleaning dishes.
26:12Well, basically, your job.
26:14If you could DJ for one hour.
26:16Yeah.
26:17Give them one hour of your DJing skills.
26:19Basically, you'll get your room for free.
26:21So, if I DJ for an hour?
26:22Yeah.
26:23I work.
26:24Yeah.
26:25I get it for free.
26:26Literally.
26:27That's actually not that bad.
26:28You up for it?
26:29Yeah.
26:30Right then, let's do it.
26:31I'm ready.
26:32Yes, Aidan.
26:33Yes, Aidan.
26:34I can't wait to have a little done.
26:36But before Aidan hits the decks,
26:37we've got some time for a little sundowner by the pool
26:40to reflect on our Miami Beach experiences.
26:43Is Miami Beach iconic?
26:46Of course it is.
26:47I'd say so.
26:48It's been the most iconic day of my life.
26:50I mean, look at what we've done today.
26:51No traffic.
26:52Bikes.
26:53Yeah.
26:54The bikes were absolutely brilliant.
26:55Yeah.
26:56And really quite affordable, to be fair.
26:57They were.
26:58Then we have the Art Deco buildings,
26:59which were just incredible.
27:00And we got that free tour.
27:01Yeah.
27:02It literally told us the history of the Art Deco buildings.
27:04It was so, so good.
27:05We learnt everything.
27:06And then finally, the gym.
27:07Free gym.
27:08I know.
27:09Literally did have to pay.
27:10And we made so many friends.
27:11I know.
27:12You're still sweating.
27:13I am still sweating.
27:14What are you trying to say?
27:15I'm sticky.
27:16Is that what you're trying to say?
27:17No.
27:18And then this, it's been the best, best day.
27:21It really has.
27:22Oh, Babs, you've got a DJ set to do.
27:25Oh, God.
27:26I was really loving it here.
27:27Go on.
27:28I thought I'm going to do that DJ set.
27:29Yeah, you have.
27:30See you in a bit.
27:31Enjoy, darling.
27:33I'm just going to top my night off.
27:36Incredibly, we really have done Miami Beach
27:39without splashing the cash.
27:41In the water.
27:44Yep, ready?
27:45No.
27:46You all right?
27:47Aidan's first love, apart from me and chicken tenders,
27:50of course, is music.
27:55This is his first gig on the other side of the pond
27:58and it makes me feel even better
28:00that it's covering the entire cost of his accommodation
28:02for the night.
28:05Go on, my son.
28:25Go, go, go.
28:35Go, go, go.
28:36Go.
28:37Go, go, go, go.
28:40ng셨어요.
28:46Go, b皆さん, have a greatéric interpretation,
28:50and we'll see you next time.
