00:00It's been a tag since 1970, so 55 years, so a decent bit.

00:07Hi, my name is Ryan Leary, I'm a point guard at Card Place High School,

00:11and I just broke the school's all-time scoring record by scoring 1,469 points.

00:16Last year, once I scored my 1,000 points, I realized only 500 more,

00:22so I could probably do that hopefully next year.

00:24I didn't think it would be this early on to my senior year,

00:27but I knew eventually I'd hopefully get it.

00:29I mean, it's great.

00:30I mean, all my sisters, I have three older sisters who played at Card Place,

00:33and they were all great athletes, they're all college basketball players,

00:36and they all scored 1,000 points.

00:38So just to be a part of that family, the Leary family and the Leary legacy,

00:41it's just a great feeling for me, and I love playing for the Card Place community.

00:47You said you were kind of looking for that extra bragging right.

00:50Would you say that this is it?

00:51Yeah, I'd say I got it, but my sisters, they played D1, D2, and D3,

00:56so they got that part on me, but for now, I'm the leading scorer for the Leary family,

01:00which is pretty cool.

01:01That's the decision I'm facing right now, the difficult decision,

01:04because I'm not really too sure.

01:05I only played football for one year, but I played basketball my whole life,

01:08and it's a sport I love.

01:09So right now, I'd probably say it's leading towards basketball,

01:12but if nothing, if I'm going to get an offer I like, I think I'll end up playing football.

01:16Honestly, not too much.

01:18My goal this year, as me and Coach Campbell always say,

01:20is to win a county championship.

01:22Last year we lost in the state semifinals,

01:24so hopefully this year we can win a county finals

01:26and then hopefully get back up to states.

01:28So my goal this fall season was to get better just so we can win a county championship

01:32and win as a team, and these records, it's just a part of the journey.
