00:00So talk to me a little bit about your basketball life here at Lindenhurst.
00:05Great relationship with your coach.
00:07How has he and how's the program kind of helped you grow to get ready?
00:10Like you said, you're tracking your points and everything and really trying to push yourself.
00:15Um, so my freshman year...
00:20And then freshman year, sophomore...
00:22Okay, so my sophomore year, Flynn was like, okay, this is...
00:25This is when you're gonna start playing AU and then your junior year, you're gonna give me a list of the colleges that you're in.
00:30What you're interested in and where you think you can play and where I think you can play and I'll reach out to those coaches for you.
00:34You just send me your...
00:35You send me your highlight tape and you send me like...
00:38Whatever, like...
00:39Uh...
00:40Uh...
00:41Game film.
00:42So...
00:43And I played AU with a new team that year, so I was a little bit nervous, but those girls...
00:45Ended up being like...
00:46Great.
00:47We ended up having a great season and Flynn really helped us out.
00:50With all of our recruiting, but I still happened to end up my favorite coach.
00:55And my favorite place that I visited, ended up being Cortland.
00:59And the fun thing about...
01:00A funny thing about the Cortland coach is she played under Flynn, she graduated from here.
01:05She climbed the ladders, the head coach at Cortland now.
01:08And I just thought that that was like...
01:10Like, that was really comfortable.
01:11She's come and watched us play in the past, but not even as recruiting me.
01:14I was like...
01:15A fan.
01:16And like...
01:17I just always had like...
01:18I was always comfortable.
01:19And I think that's so...
01:20We're both so competitive and like passionate about the game.
01:24Like, she's really...
01:25Really intense.
01:26I'm really excited to go play for her.
01:27And...
01:28That's what kind of like...
01:30Flynn kind of helped me out with that one.
01:32We moved her to my club the last year to get her...
01:35So, I ran recruiting through my AAU club.
01:39We moved her from...
01:40The other club...
01:41To our club.
01:42So that I could run the recruiting.
01:43And I'm really close.
01:45With...
01:46Her coach and I are really close.
01:48And I went to her coach at like 53...
01:50Of her coach's basketball games in college.
01:52Like...
01:53Like I...
01:54I...
01:55You know...
01:56She was my assistant coach for five years in AAU.
01:57Like...
01:58We're that close.
01:59So it's just like...
02:00A connection where like...
02:01I would love to see her play for her.
02:03Because I just think it would be great.
02:05I think that...
02:06Number one...
02:07I think it'll...
02:08It'll ease the transition into college.
02:10For her...
02:11At the...
02:12In terms of basketball wise.
02:13Because...
02:14I think that...
02:15Um...
02:16Coach James is very connected with her...
02:17Team...
02:18And her team.
02:19And she'll be able to...
02:20Better...
02:21Connected right away with the team.
02:22Because...
02:23Coach James knows her so well.
02:25And...
02:26You know...
02:27I also know that...
02:28Coach James knows her game so well.
02:29And the environment that she comes from.
02:30That she'll be able to motivate her...
02:32Quicker and better than...
02:33Someone that she doesn't know.
02:35You know...
02:36So...
02:37Having that understanding of...
02:38You know...
02:39A person...
02:40Is usually what...
02:41It takes time to...
02:42You know...
02:43Adjust to.
02:44I don't think she'll...
02:45Have that issue with Emma.
02:46So I think that she'll be able to...
02:47Kind of...
02:48Go into their program.
02:50A lot quicker...
02:51And a lot more successfully than...
02:53Any regular...
02:54Freshman.
02:55Well...
02:56I just think she's grown in every aspect of her game.
02:58And...
02:59And not only that.
03:00As a person too.
03:01You know...
03:02She's just...
03:03Shown...
03:04Incredible leadership.
03:05This year.
03:06Um...
03:07Her coachability factors.
03:08Off the charts.
03:09You know...
03:10Anything we have a discussion about.
03:11Like...
03:12She'll do.
03:13You know...
03:14She's...
03:15You know...
03:16Bees the other girls really well.
03:18I...
03:19I've seen her...
03:20Just...
03:20Her game.
03:21Everything that...
03:22I've always asked her to work on.
03:23She's...
03:24Come back and worked on it.
03:25Proved.
03:26You know...
03:27She needed...
03:28She's lefty.
03:29She needed to get a better right hand.
03:30She came back the next year.
03:30She's got a better right hand.
03:31She needs to get a better handle.
03:32The next year she came back with a better handle.
03:33We need...
03:34A pull up.
03:35You know...
03:36A pull up's gotta get better.
03:37Next year.
03:38A pull up's gonna need to rebound.
03:39I mean...
03:40I remember telling her...
03:41We need her to get seven, eight rebounds a game.
03:43She was only getting four rebounds a game.
03:44And she was like...
03:45A freshman.
03:46She's averaging eight rebounds a game now.
03:48You know...
03:49So...
03:50Like that to me...
03:50I've seen her grow in terms of...
03:52Being able to take...
03:53You know...
03:54Advice and coachability.
03:55Coaching...
03:56You know...
03:57Critiques.
03:58And then...
03:59You know...
04:00Going...
04:00And...
04:01And make herself better.
04:02How many hours a week...
04:03Whether it's in season or out...
04:05What would you say you spend on basketball training?
04:07Early in the season...
04:08We're going two hours a day.
04:10Two hours on Saturday.
04:11What's...
04:1212.
04:13Probably like 12, 14.
04:14Something like...
04:15Down there.
04:16Then in the summertime...
04:17Uh...
04:18Two practice a week.
04:19And tournaments on the weekends.
04:20I don't even know how much time.
04:21I couldn't even tell you.
04:22A lot of time.
04:2312 to 15 I'd say.
04:24Yeah.
04:25Yeah.
04:26So when you have...
04:27A blizzard like this...
04:28And you're snowed in at home...
04:30What do you do?
04:31Um...
04:32I'm going to say...
04:34I'll take it as my...
04:35Relax day.
04:36Gotcha.
04:37Watch movies on the couch.
04:39Um...
04:40Watch movies on the couch.
04:40Talk movies on the couch now.
04:42Um...
04:43ìž”.
04:44You enjoy the night.
04:45Uh...
04:50Laughing...
04:52Is this one that I must do...
