00:00And so if you think about the great mediators throughout history, this is really Cutter's moment.
00:13Justice in action beyond promises to progress isn't just a theme, it's a challenge.
00:18From the opening ceremony of this year's Doha Forum, there was a palpable drive to turn big ideas into real-world results.
00:26Leaders from around the world gathered in Doha to take on the most pressing global challenges,
00:30from conflict resolution and economic inequality, to humanitarian crises and a rapidly shifting geopolitical landscape.
00:38What gave me hope is to see all those policymakers in one room, in Doha Forum, discussing these kinds of pressing issues.
00:48And this is what we are trying to promote and to encourage everyone to do, is to meet, to have dialogue and to go out of this Doha Forum with very good results and continue their partnership in the future.
01:06Well, this is my first Forum here in Doha, and I'm positively impressed by, first of all, the size of the event is one of the biggest I have ever been to,
01:20but also the quality of participants, I think it's important in these global events that you have different angles coming in and clearly Doha is a hub for bringing together different viewpoints and I'm very happy to contribute to the European viewpoint of the whole business.
01:42Many senior diplomats and international officials praise Qatar's growing reputation as an impartial mediator, grounded in international law, focused on protecting civilians and paving the way for negotiated solutions.
01:54We see Qatar's growing role in the Middle East as well.
01:59I mean, all the international mediation that they're doing when it comes to Sudan, but also Gaza, also Ukrainian children, for example, or the Great Lakes.
02:11So we see that we have a lot of things where we can work together, of course, not only on peace and security matters, but also other matters like trade,
02:23economic relations, innovation technology that we can build up.
02:28During the Forum, the Qatar Fund for Development announced 18 new strategic agreements worth nearly half a billion euros to support development programs that will benefit more than 4.7 million people worldwide.
02:40The big gap is 88% of Africa don't have electricity.
02:45This is not acceptable.
02:46You know, you cannot, we cannot create a good economy.
02:48We cannot create, you know, for our cultures, how supply waters without electricity.
02:53We cannot have good education, good health.
02:55You know, there are major things that we need to tackle, you know, on the big scale infrastructures that we can support it.
03:01And, additional to that, you know, how can we work on the subs component, education, health, economic empowerment.
03:08This is our focus now.
03:10The future is looking for how we can support these major things on the electricity and energy, you know, because this needs a lot of support, you know, from our partners.
03:20For the first time, the Forum also hosted a live on-stage podcast produced by Doha Debates, a global platform focused on constructive dialogue using majlis-style conversations to find common ground.
03:33So, when people think of debate, they actually now think of the talking heads on TV who yell at each other and who try to score points against each other.
03:41It's like a boxing match.
03:42Right.
03:43It's a gladiator fight.
03:44Doha Debates is entirely against this.
03:46We're based on the majlis-style of debate.
03:48The idea is to seek truth.
03:50So, you and I may disagree.
03:52We may have very, very, very existential disagreements.
03:55How are we going to address those?
03:57We're going to address them by respecting each other as human beings and having a meaningful, deep-seated conversation that explores the topic from multiple issues.
04:07Much of this year's discussion centered on the Gaza conflict and Qatar's mediation efforts,
04:15with several speakers calling for deeper recognition of Doha's role and greater engagement from European institutions.
04:22With all the conflicts that we had, with all the events that we had during the year, this Doha Forum basically just bring us the solutions, bring us the conclusions.
04:36And, yeah, I do believe that the partnerships that we signed this year with the European Union could be a successful one.
04:45From mediation tables to development pledges, the message here is clear.
04:51Progress only happens when conversations turn into commitments.
04:55We're 갈
