00:00All right, let's break this down for you all. This past Sunday's game against the Los Angeles
00:06Lakers ended in pure chaos for the Phoenix Suns, and a lot of that swirls around forward.
00:11Dylan Brooks, after getting ejected in the final moments, Brooks was left with a mix of regret
00:16for not finishing the game and strong criticism for some of the officiating and for LeBron James
00:22himself. Here's what went down. Brooks hit a huge go-ahead three-pointer in the last minute.
00:28After the shot, he ended up on the floor, following some contact with LeBron James.
00:33No foul was called. In the heat of the moment, Brooks chest-bumped James and was hit with his
00:38second technical foul, ending his night. The Lakers then won the game on LeBron free throws,
00:44after Devin Booker fouled him on a three-point attempt, with just three seconds left. This
00:48was just the peak of a game-long battle. Brooks and James were going at it, talking back and forth
00:53the entire night, each picking up a tech earlier. It's the latest chapter in a rivalry that really
00:59blew up during the 2022-23 playoffs, when Brooks then with the Grizzlies called LeBron old and said
01:04he pokes bears. After the game, Brooks had a lot to say. He called LeBron a social media junkie,
01:11who sees everything said about him. Brooks claimed James has an expectation for how people should view
01:16him and play against him, and said, I'm not going to play that way. He even wished they had let LeBron
01:22take the final shot, confidently stating, that would have been an airball. And get ready,
01:27because the next phase of this rivalry, is Tuesday in Phoenix. Brooks mentioned he moved on quickly
01:32from the ejection, noting he doesn't use social media, and is focused on what's next. His head
01:37coach Jordan Ott, backed him up, supporting the energy and passion Brooks brings, calling him an
01:43emotional and fiery competitor. But Brooks also owned part of it, he admitted he was,
01:48out of my body a little bit, in that late situation, not realizing there was a timeout,
01:53and just wanting to be aggressive. His bigger issue, was with the inconsistency of calls.
01:59He talked about a rule I never heard of, arguing that officials pick and choose when to call
02:04technicals for the bumping and contact that happens in every single game, feeling it often gets
02:09called specifically on him. His teammates reacted to the wild finish too. The game was tied 62-62 at
02:17halftime, but the Lakers went on a massive 24-nil run. The Suns raced all the way back to take the
02:23lead, only for it to end, in that whistle-filled final minute. Center Mark Williams called the ending,
02:30chaotic, crazy, everything in between, pointing to what felt like eight reviews, that killed the
02:35game's flow. He said, we shouldn't have put ourselves in that position. But noted, the bright side.
02:41You play them again. Wing Royce O'Neal talked about the tough situation on Booker's foul,
02:47suggesting maybe just putting hands up in those moments, since, you never know how they gonna call
02:51it. Now, the NBA's last two-minute report, stated every call in that final minute, including the
02:59non-call on the contact with Brooks, was correct. It said Brooks initiated the contact. Brooks responded,
03:05that if that's the case, it should've been an offensive foul on LeBron, not a no-call.
03:10The Suns haven't played since that game, their next action is Thursday, against the Golden State
03:15Warriors for two straight games, before they face the Lakers again. So, after seeing all that,
03:21the emotions, the rivalry, the controversial calls, and the official report backing the referees,
03:28what's your take? Is this just the price of doing business with a fierce competitor like Dylan Brooks,
03:33or does the league need to look at how consistently those emotional, in-the-moment texts are handed out?
