00:00The United States has ordered a total and complete blockade of sanctioned oil tankers
00:05entering and leaving Venezuela, following a sharply worded statement from U.S. President
00:11Donald Trump. In the statement, President Trump claimed Venezuela is now surrounded by what he
00:17described as the largest naval armada ever assembled in South America, warning that the
00:23pressure on President Nicolás Maduro's administration will continue to intensify. The U.S. President
00:30accused the Venezuelan government of using oil revenues to finance criminal activities,
00:36including drug trafficking, human trafficking and terrorism. He further declared that the Maduro
00:42administration has been designated a foreign terrorist organization by the United States.
00:48President Trump also alleged that oil fields and other assets in Venezuela were stolen from the
00:54United States and demanded their immediate return, stating that Washington will not allow what it
01:00describes as a hostile regime to benefit from those resources. As part of the announcement,
01:07the U.S. confirmed that Venezuelan nationals accused of criminal activity are being returned to
01:12Venezuela following what the president described as failures under the previous U.S. administration.
01:18The developments have raised fresh concerns about regional stability, energy markets and the
01:24potential impact on Caribbean and Latin American states that maintain economic and diplomatic ties
01:31with Venezuela. There has so far been no official response by the Venezuelan government as the
01:37international community closely monitors the situation. Meanwhile, the U.S. Southern Command has released
01:44a preview trailer for its upcoming military exercise, Operation Southern Spare, calling it quote-unquote
01:52just amazing. The operation involves U.S. forces deployed across the Southern Command area of
01:58responsibility. According to the Department of War, the mission supports broader efforts to disrupt
02:03illicit drug trafficking and safeguard the homeland. Officials say the exercise reflects the president's
02:10priorities and showcases U.S. military readiness in the region. Amid concerns from the Trump
02:16administration around defending the U.S. from drug trafficking and heightened tensions between the
02:22U.S. and Venezuela during the crisis in Venezuela, the U.S. began deploying military forces to the Caribbean
02:30Sea in mid-August and in September began conducting airstrikes on vessels. The Trump administration
02:37alleges are controlled by narco-terrorists trafficking drugs to the United States. And yesterday, U.S.
02:43Secretary of War Pete Hegseth said they will not release the full video of a September attack in the
02:50Caribbean that killed two individuals as they were clinging to the wreckage of a burning boat.
02:55The incident has been named Operation Double Tap and is the most controversial to date as the United
03:02States has now been questioned as per international law for launching a second attack and killing the two
03:09survivors.
