00:00We've got travel trouble in the northwest here to kick off this Friday.
00:05It's a busy travel time and gas prices are lower.
00:08A lot of people expected to be traveling over the next week or so as we move through Hanukkah week as we ramp up to Christmas next Thursday.
00:16AAA anticipating a big, big boom for travelers.
00:21But travel weather is not going to be good in the northwest.
00:23We have snow, we have wind, rain, and also the Great Lakes facing some lake effect snow in the downwind spots with also some rain Thursday tapering off into Friday in areas closer to I-95.
00:35Now this weekend we have cold returning briefly to the Great Lakes in the northeast.
00:39Some snow near the international border.
00:41A lot of trouble is going to be persistently happening in the west, especially from I-80 northward.
00:46So from around San Francisco to Donner Pass north all the way up to Portland and Seattle.
00:51And we'll have a few showers in the lower Mississippi Valley.
00:54It'll be a less impactful part of the storyline here down into areas like Louisiana, Mississippi, and Alabama.
01:00So a lot of action here still near the northern border of the nation here to the Great Lakes.
01:05But widespread rain, mountain snow in the northwest.
01:08And that continues into Monday.
01:10Holiday travel weather this Monday.
01:12We've got the red zone here through the Cascades and the Siskiyous of northern California.
01:16Also the northern Rockies.
01:18Rain for the valley floor.
01:19Or some lighter snow showers up into northern New York, Vermont, New Hampshire, and Maine.
01:24And some rain showers in the central Gulf Coast region.
01:28Future radar and clouds will play this out here for us.
01:31And again, even before we get there, just a quick stop for the rain rolling east with our Thursday system.
01:36That's going to be a little bit disruptive in the short term.
01:38We move forward into Sunday.
01:40We'll press pause Sunday with some snow up into the northern part of the northeast.
01:43Here's some lake effect snow in progress.
01:45And the northwest still kind of a mess with rain and mountain snow into next week.
01:49And then this is OK to grab the water.

01:55So we'll need to see where we can do more snow in the south of the 1941 region.
