00:00A total of 78 vehicles have been seized by the Road Transport Department, or JPJ, during
00:06a series of enforcement operations under Ops Luxury 4.0.
00:11JPJ Director-General Datuk Edifadli Ramli said the operation, which began on December
00:1712, involved vehicles driven by both locals and foreigners.
00:21He said all the vehicles were detained and seized for investigation under Section 64
00:26Subsection 1 of the Road Transport Act, 1987, the main offenses detected were driving without
00:32valid road tax, lack of insurance coverage, expired or invalid driving licenses, as well
00:38as the use of fake registration plates.
00:41Since the operation began on July 1, a total of 706 luxury vehicles have been seized nationwide
00:48for various offenses.
00:51He added that a luxury sedan seized during the operation had outstanding road
00:56tax amounting to more than 21,000 ringgit, the highest recorded in the current phase.
01:02He stressed that JPJ will not compromise with any party, including owners of luxury vehicles,
01:08who failed to comply with road transport laws.
