Settle everything before release of seized vehicles, says minister

Luxury vehicle owners must settle everything including renewing their car insurance and road tax and paying the fine before they are allowed to claim back their vehicles seized by the Road Transport Department, according to Transport Minister Anthony Loke.  Loke told the media after attending a Food Panda event on Aug 7 that enforcement personnel are seizing vehicles with unsettled road tax and ensuring such vehicle owners settle everything while the ministry would need to look into ways to beef up the Road Transport Act for heftier fines.
