00:01The Road Transport Department JPJ has launched a sweeping crackdown on luxury vehicle owners,
00:06flouting basic road regulations.
00:09Under Ops Luxury, JPJ seized a total of 1,814 vehicles, 915 this year alone, and another 899 last year.
00:19Among those caught? A former national footballer and a motivational speaker.
00:23The ex-footballer's vehicle was seized in the early hours of Sunday morning,
00:27flagged for three offences – no insurance, expired road tax, and a driving licence that had lapsed since December last
00:34year.
00:35Authorities say he had five months to settle the matter. He didn't.
00:39The motivational speaker's vehicle, estimated at over half a million ringgit, was pulled over on the Damansara Puchong Expressway.
00:46The road tax had expired nearly a month prior, there was no insurance,
00:50and the car was still carrying an old registration number, despite having undergone a plate interchange.
00:55JPJ Deputy Director General Datuk Jazmani Shafawi had a clear message for vehicle owners.
01:01The My JPJ app sends reminder notifications before licences expire,
01:06so the excuse of overlooking renewal simply doesn't hold.
01:10He also stressed that driving without valid road tax means driving without insurance coverage,
01:15a serious risk for all road users.
01:17the course of my JPJ as the car is already doing.
01:19He was an ecus of my representative.
01:21He was actually running.
01:22and he was able to get rid of them from the middle of the middle of the mid-term.
01:22To go to the car to the car, it's the same.
01:24He was rated immediately after the car to the car.
01:26The car was rated as the car for the car after that he was rated at his car.
