00:00The BBC has apologised. I mean, the Director-General even resigned over this issue of,
00:06in one film, a Panorama programme I think it was, they got something wrong in the way that that was
00:12edited. They've apologised for that, but they have also said that there's no case to answer
00:18in terms of the broader question of what President Trump is accusing the BBC of having done.
00:25So I think that it's now up to the lawyers to get involved in this case to decide how best to take
00:32it forward. But what I would say is that this Labour government is a steadfast supporter of
00:39our BBC. It is a vitally important institution. It's one of the greatest sources of soft power for
00:46our country. People around the world respect the BBC. It is, I think, a fundamental part of what
00:52it means to be British to support our BBC. And we will always do that. So, you know, I hope that
00:59this case with Donald Trump can be brought to a good conclusion and that the BBC can carry on doing
01:07the vitally important work that it does in terms of informing, entertaining and educating the British
01:14British people.
