00:00Drake is denied a copyright plus Kravis Scott allegedly got more help with
00:07sicko mode than fans thought. Hey guys it's Ali for Hollywood Life with your
00:13hip-hop roundup starting with Nas. Recall last week we told you about the
00:16rapper's new song Ultra Black that took a shot at Doja Cat in the lyrics. Well the
00:21track left Twitter split. Half gave Nas the he's a legend excuse while the other
00:26half slammed him for dissing a woman much younger than him. But despite how
00:29fans felt the diss didn't seem to bother Doja much. The say-so singer took to
00:34TikTok to react by trolling the entire situation. I can't play the clip because
00:39of copyright reasons but Ultra Black can be heard playing in the background while
00:42Doja says I am so offended and upset about this song. Then she pauses for a second
00:47before completely ignoring Ultra Black and saying have you guys heard fruit salad by
00:51the Wiggles? And speaking of trolling let's talk about 6ix9ine egging on some of his
00:55enemies on the West Coast and calling LA his city. This is just so beautiful like
01:00they love me here. You know what I'm saying? Look at my city. Take a look at my city.
01:04Take a look at my city. Beautiful. How does it look? Amazing. That's my city right there.
01:09That's my city right there. Yeah, I remember. I remember they said I couldn't come out here, Murphy.
01:12And by the way, if you're trying to pause the video in the screenshot by the time I upload this, I'm already gone.
01:21Adding to this, Slim 400 took to social media to show off his new F69 tattoo and reacted to the rapper
01:31acting tough in LA. You a ho. You the biggest clap chaser of them all. I swear to God, boy, if you
01:38ain't had no mafia body, boy, I wouldn't be in Vegas. To Drake now, the rapper announced last Friday that
01:46this new album will be titled Certified Lover Boy. However, he reportedly won't be able to trademark
01:51the title. According to Complex, an attorney named Robert Kleinman filed a trademark application for
01:57the phrase for the possible use of music, clothing, television, movies, live events, etc. Kleinman won't
02:03reveal to Complex if this was about Drizzy, but he has reportedly been the attorney for dozens of
02:08Drake-related trademarks in the past. The reason the trademark was denied is due to likelihood of
02:13confusion. This is because a Michigan clothing company, Lover's Lane, registered Lover Boy for
02:19things like underwear. Then there's a possibility of confusion because of the band Lover Boy, who made
02:24the 80s hit Working for the Weeknd. It's important to mention this denial doesn't mean Drake has to
02:28change the name of his album, though. The trademark would just provide legal protections against
02:32counterfeit merch and things like that. However, there is still time for Drizzy to work out a consent
02:37agreement with Lover Boy and Lover's Lane, so we will see what happens.
02:40But okay, to Travis Scott now. On Saturday, reference tracks leaked online that reportedly prove
02:46Cy High, The Prince, laid the groundwork for Travis's biggest hit, Sicko Mode, as well as Coffee Bean.
02:54However, I'm not sure why this is a big deal or why this shocked so many people. Cy High is a credited
02:58writer on multiple songs for Astroworld, an album that is far from brand new at this point.
03:03References tracks are a songwriter's way of communicating their idea to the artist, who then will perform it
03:08in the final recording. Almost like a storyboard in filmmaking, so I don't really know the big deal.
03:13But comment below if you think there is one. But alright guys, that's it for today.
