00:00John's and Kentucky followed by North Carolina and Ohio State later Houston will battle Arkansas inside college basketball tips off at noon on CBS and streaming on Parallel Plus.
00:18So the question now for Cincinnati can Joe Burrow generate any kind of offense as this Baltimore defense has pitched a shutout to this point.
00:30Burrow play action underneath and Chase Brown is met. Excellent open field tackled by Gilman. Let's get an NFL Today update. Adam Schein. Spiro, Arch, James Cook bounds it in. 14 straight points now for the Bills in the third quarter. Patriots lead down to three. 24-21 New England late third back to you.
00:52Wow. Boy, it looked like a one-sided affair. Here comes Josh Allen in the Bills. Can't count it now. Wild card Chase getting hot in the AFC. So second and eight.
01:03Borgen takes that snapshot of the Ravens defense. Baltimore bringing four. Protected his burrow. Completes. That's the tight end Tanner Hudson. A little bit short of the line to gain.
01:16We go downstairs to Aditi. Spiro, I have some injury updates for you. For the Bengals. Wide receiver Charlie Jones is out with an ankle injury. Tight end Noah Fant is questionable with also an ankle injury.
01:28And the Ravens. Cornerback Tito Owuzie is questionable with a foot injury.
01:34All right. The DD all over it. Brave in the elements. Third and one here. Long step back is P. Ryan.
01:44KK, KK, KK, KK, we got to go. Six up on the line of scrimmage for the Ravens.
01:49All right. Let's go.
01:50All right. Let's go.
01:51T. Ryan finds a little bit of daylight. He's going to have the first down for the Bengals.
01:59Sarge, you think of what makes this Cincinnati offense so dangerous. You know, full strength. Obviously, Burrow.
02:04And you got the two stud wide receivers, Chase and Higgins. No Higgins today for the second time in three weeks.
02:10He missed the last meeting against the Ravens. And it just isn't the same operation when one of those guys is down.
02:15No, it's not. Because you basically have two number one receivers out there on the field.
02:19And both Chase and Higgins, you know, their reputation is well established in the NFL.
02:24And their ability to win on one-on-one coverage.
02:27And so when you can allocate your resources to just trying to take away Jamar Chase,
02:32it's not always 100%, but it really makes your job much easier on the defensive side of the ball.
02:38Hudson made the catch. Crowd wanted a little bit of a late hit with the action right in front of that Raven sideline.
02:47No flags. And you just look at what they've done last three seasons with a heavy dose of those three when healthy on the field.
02:56Well, it's fascinating to me that only 34% of the offensive snaps played with Burrow, Chase, and Higgins on the field
03:07is an incredible, incredible number.
03:12Higgins back in concussion protocol. Remember, he missed that game a couple of weeks ago
03:16after he took that hard hit against New England.
03:18P. Ryan, a little bit of a bobble, and somehow able to squeeze it.
03:23Well, Quine Smith able to get him.
03:25So a minimal game for P. Ryan, just about a yard on the play.
03:29As we move inside of six minutes, Zach Taylor looking down at that play sheet, third and eight.
03:34No, really, we were able to see a lot, you know, with Chase and Higgins on the field at the same time,
03:40with really with Flacco.
03:41And when Flacco was that quarterback, the challenges that it presented to defenses
03:46by trying to double both of them on key downs opened up so much more on this offense.
03:52And what they need right now in this game is for somebody else to be able to make a play
03:57in one-on-one coverage by themselves.
03:59Burrow steps up in the pocket, looking, buying himself some time.
04:04He runs, and he's going to be short.
04:08Everyone covered down the field as Burrow picks up only two on a third name.
04:16And Zach Taylor's offense booed off the field.
04:19I'm just impressed by Baltimore's defense.
04:21The way they're playing, they are playing a disciplined, bland brand of football today.
04:26And, you know, Burrow is so good in the quick game, in the precision, in the timing game.
04:32But he is also among one of the best in the NFL in the scramble drill
04:36in making those big plays when he buys time and gets outside the pocket.
04:41But so far in this game, outside of one play to Jamar Chase,
04:44Baltimore Ravens, their back seven, has locked down this offense.
04:48This will take a bounce for the Bengals inside the 10.
04:54And so Lamar Jackson and company will have really tough starting field position
04:58after the 52-yard putt perfectly placed by Rico Burrow, looking for answers.
05:07The NFL on CBS is sponsored by T-Mobile, now the best network in America.
05:17And by Pizza Hut.
05:20No one out pizzas the hut.
05:22New CBS Wednesday, only five remain.
05:32One will claim the title of sole survivor and a million-dollar prize.
05:36The Survivor season finale, new CBS Wednesday.
05:40And I tell you what, any one of our camera operators would have been the last survivor on that.
05:44Oh, boy.
05:45Look at Henry, busting one again.
05:48Well, that pets up frustration after a little bit of a lethargic first half.
05:53He picks up 22 here, his third run of 20 or more in the half.
05:58Well, this is not a guy that you want to start to make him feel like he's getting hot
06:04because one thing we've known from watching Derrick Henry is his career,
06:08he really starts to heat up in December.
06:11And he started off in great fashion two weeks ago against his team on Thanksgiving.
06:15And right now, you can tell he's really starting to heal himself.
06:20And I wouldn't be surprised to see Todd Monk and give him the ball over and over and over again in this game.
06:27Approaching 100 yards.
06:28Again, he punished that Pittsburgh defense last week.
06:3125 takes, 94 yards, fourth straight 1,000-yard season, seventh in the last eight years
06:38as one of the all-time backs continues his incredible career.
06:44That last play, a Cincinnati play with both of their safeties back,
06:49not a wide decision trying to tackle Derrick Henry in the open field from 10 yards deep.
06:54Jackson goes play action, and he throws a dart.
06:57Flowers.
06:57He's been his favorite wide receiver target, a pickup of 14.
07:03Adini.
07:04Spirit for Lamar, it's been a foot, a hamstring, a knee, an ankle, a toe.
07:09Certainly a frustrating year because, as John Harbaugh put it,
07:13he's not been 100% for so long.
07:17But at no point ever did Lamar Jackson stop fighting.
07:20Harbaugh said even when he wasn't playing, he was in the building, rehabbing, in meetings.
07:25Mark Andrews told me he's a warrior, plain and simple.
07:29He's gritted it, gritted his way through all season.
07:32Keaton Mitchell going to run for another Ravens first down.
07:37And, you know, you consider the numbers.
07:38He's been superhuman, Arch, for so long.
07:41Any little bit of a drop-off is going to raise eyebrows.
07:44Does he see what he did last year?
07:45But you hear that was so historic for this offense so far this season?
07:51No, he's a premier player.
07:52You know, he's one of the best, the best football players in the National Football League.
07:56And, you know, when he's at the top of his game, I can't think of many quarterbacks
08:01that strike fear in a defense because of all the different ability that he brings.
08:06But certainly an unhealthy and not 100% Lamar Jackson.
08:11You know, if this was Super Mario, he'd be Super Mario without the star.
08:17Okay, Lamar Jackson, but he's smothered there.
08:21So the Bengals get to him again.
08:23Third set for Cincinnati.
08:25Miles Murphy and TJ Slayton lay it a hurting on Jackson.
08:30Well, it's a nice job from Murphy fighting through this chip.
08:34And then I believe Slayton is just going to go with power up the middle.
08:40Just a great job.
08:41Slayton, he comes from the inside.
08:43But that's just a great job of double-teaming and getting some pressure.
08:47I think this defensive line has done a nice job in this game of getting pressure
08:51and getting to Lamar Jackson.
08:53And now they put him in second and 16.
08:57Down to the final minute.
08:58Plus, Jackson tried to wiggle free.
09:01Boy, flings it near side.
09:04Officials are going to rule it incomplete.
09:07And suddenly Jackson run it for his life.
09:09And Miles Murphy, boy, has he come alive for this Bengals defense.
09:14Injured player is Ronnie Stanley.
09:16My goodness.
09:20Certainly one of the most important pieces on this Baltimore offense.
09:24Murphy runs just, he flings his body right in the back of his legs.
09:31Watch number 79.
09:32That's Stanley.
09:33And then Murphy, he just kind of gets bent over backwards on his right leg.
09:41But this pass rush, really doing a nice shot.
09:44Carson Vincent, their rookie backup lineman, young man they took in the fifth round out of Alabama A&M,
09:55has now come onto the field for John Harbaugh and Todd Munkin's offense.
09:59So, they take a closer look at Stanley down on that Baltimore sideline.
10:11Fourth appearance of the season for the rookie, Vincent.
10:15Third and 16.
10:19Bengals bring in only three.
10:22Everyone covered.
10:24Jackson down again.
10:26Demetrius Knight.
10:30Fourth sack of Jackson for the Bengals.
10:40Oh, Spiro, that's exactly how you played the spy technique on Lamar Jackson.
10:48This is a three-man rush, and then watch Demetrius Knight just stand there and near him.
10:57He doesn't commit too fast.
10:59And then right when he sees Jackson commit, he shoots his gun, takes his chance, and gets Jackson to the ground.
11:06Really a nice game today by Demetrius Knight getting Jackson on the ground.
11:12And boy, a tough break for Lamar.
11:13It was Chris Jenkins, the man who's injured, down on the ground.
11:18Jackson didn't see him until it was too late.
11:20He ran into him.
11:22And that brought Jackson down to the turf.
11:26And so that Ravens drive flames out.
11:29And on fourth and 21, they're going to punt.
11:30As Jenkins is now aided into the blue medical tent.
11:37But that, two sacks for Demetrius Knight in this game.
11:43First two sacks of the season for Knight in his NFL career.
11:48Mitchell Tinsley now returning a punt after the Bengals lost Charlie Jones earlier.
12:00Jones has been downgraded to outright ankle injury according to the report we got earlier from Aditi.
12:05So an updated look at the playoff picture in the AFC.
12:08Again, we've been mentioning from the top, Ravens still in control of their own destiny.
12:13Remember, they do have that final date with the Steelers, Week 18 in Pittsburgh.
12:19Cincinnati, meantime, a loss today will eliminate them officially from playoff contention.
12:26Yep.
12:28So final 22 seconds of the quarter.
12:30Cincinnati begins here from their 13.
12:42Okay, he came off to Brown.
12:45Brown on the check down from Bowe.
12:47He's going to wiggle his way across the 20 where he is brought down by Kyle Hamilton.
12:52Should be the final play of the quarter.
12:54As they pick up eight here to set him up with a second and short.
12:57So Cincinnati, remember that double-digit blown lead last week in the fourth quarter against Buffalo.
13:04If they're going to win this game, they're going to have to pull out some late-game magic of their own.
13:09Disappointing day so far for Joe Burrow.
13:12He's got one quarter left.
13:13Down 17-0 on CBS.
13:1818-0 Ravens.
13:20Hand-off here to P. Ryan.
13:27And that's going to get him now third and short.
13:29So Burrow had to talk.
13:30You know, saying, well, I want to try to find the joy in playing again, Arch.
13:33There's been nothing about this game that's been fun for Joe Burrow.
13:37Is there going to go to Temple here?
13:41Third and one.
13:41So Burrow, no huddle here.
13:52Gets him up to the line of scrimmage.
13:54Gets everyone set.
13:59Need a yard.
14:01P. Ryan looking for some daylight.
14:03Didn't get it.
14:07Where's that P. Ryan who's down?
14:08Looks like P. Ryan now is clutching at that knee.
14:17But what a performance from Zachary Orr's Ravens defense.
14:21But now the concern on P. Ryan.
14:26All of that weight coming down on his legs.
14:29But the football came out.
14:32So recovered by Cincinnati.
14:36But Samanjay P. Ryan is still down.
14:38With the athletic trainers now coming onto the field for Cincinnati.
14:49So the obvious concern from Zach Taylor.
14:54With Samanjay P. Ryan now still down on the field.
14:57We'll step aside.
14:57The NFL on CBS is sponsored by Verizon.
15:06The best 5G network.
15:08There's only one best.
15:10Little Caesars.
15:11The official pizza sponsor of the NFL.
15:15And by Coors Light.
15:17Choose chill.
15:18Celebrate responsibly.
15:19Our Bengals offense stand on the field.
15:26These poor Bengals fans looking for something to cheer about.
15:31One of the coldest games in the history of the stadium.
15:34Fourth and one.
15:35Burrell from the gun.
15:37Burrell throws and completes.
15:39Chase Brown first down Cincinnati.
15:42So they pick up two.
15:45And a fresh set of downs for the Bengals.
15:49Joe Burrow now just 16 of 26 for 130 yards.
15:55And one interception off the deflected pass in the first half.
15:59As the Ravens defense has had all the answers.
16:01And Burrow smothered again.
16:04Travis Jones.
16:07And that's the fourth time they've gotten to Burrow.
16:12So Travis Jones a couple of days off that contract extension.
16:17What a piece he's become for this Ravens defense.
16:19Well there's no doubt.
16:20And their coordinator Zach Orr has to be extremely pleased with the way his defense is playing.
16:26You know that back seven.
16:28They are a force.
16:28They are taking everything intermediate and deep away from Burrow.
16:32They're forcing check downs.
16:34And this front is playing as good of a game as I've seen from them this season.
16:39Jamar Chase going to make the catch here on a second and 15.
16:43Nate Wiggins will be credited with the tackle.
16:45So they get eight of those yards back.
16:47But boy you're right.
16:48This Ravens defense with Orr.
16:50They have made all the right calls in a game that they just have to have here.
16:54As we play early stages fourth quarter.
16:56Well I asked him what the key to this game was.
16:58And certainly trying to limit what Burrow and Chase can do in the passing game.
17:02But he said we have to knock out the run game so we can get to good third down distances.
17:08And today they've done that.
17:10The Bengals are two of ten on third down.
17:13And that is an outstanding game by this defense against an offense that excels in third down situations.
17:19Can't consider what they did on third down last week against the Bills.
17:22Burrow barely gets it out.
17:23Again under pressure.
17:25Looking for Chase.
17:27And once again Burrow knew he was going to get hit up.
17:30Heavy pressure from Draymond Jones.
17:32And now Marius Mims is late to get to his feet.
17:38The prize rookie right tackle.
17:45Trying to put some weight on that right leg it looks like.
17:48Jones just coming over here with speed.
17:51You know both the tackles here for the Cincinnati Bengals.
17:55They've really had a tough time with this edge pressure.
17:57And this is a place where they've struggled rushing the passer this season.
18:03Coming into this game.
18:05Draymond Jones coming in with six sacks.
18:07But Mike Green the rookie with two and a half.
18:11They just haven't been able to generate a lot of pressure off of the edge this season.
18:15But today really rushing the passer as good as they have against these tackles for Cincinnati.
18:20It looks like Draymond Jones is limping his way off the field as well.
18:26Guy who's been with this Ravens team just over a month since that trade from Tennessee early part of November.
18:33Meanwhile Mims barely is able to put any weight on that leg.
18:38Looks like Cody Ford is going to come in now for Mims.
18:42Sixth year backup offensive lineman.
18:45Just a couple of minutes after we watched Samajay Piran have to be helped into the medical tent.
18:56There's that injury list now starting to pile up for Zach Taylor's Bengals.
19:03So Cody Ford, a guy who's played a lot of football now, summons.
19:08And he will slot himself in at that right tackle spot.
19:12Second, fourth down conversion attempt on this drive.
19:19Fourth and seven.
19:20Yeah, I got zero.
19:24Burrow delivers, completes.
19:26Chase trying to break free.
19:29Chase inside Ravens territory.
19:32Trying to breathe some life into this Bengals offense.
19:35Boy, he beat Wiggins on that play.
19:37And Chase letting him hear about it.
19:40He picks up 26.
19:42Joe Burrow signals to max protection knowing that now he's only going to have a three-man route.
19:47So the middle of the field is going to be blanketed by defenders.
19:51But what do you do?
19:52You go to somebody that you can trust is going to win those one-on-one matchups.
19:55Chase against Wiggins.
19:57And like he does against so many different corners, Chase is able to win that key fourth down.
20:01But after a slow start, Jamar Chase, eight catches, 114 yards.
20:10How much does he have left in the tank?
20:13Perrow evades.
20:16Throws.
20:16And that is caught on a comebacker.
20:19It's Tinsley.
20:20And suddenly the Bengals on the move.
20:25A pickup of 17 and another Cincy first down.
20:29I think the Bengals really have to be careful over there at that right tackle spot.
20:33And make sure they give Joe Burrow a little bit of protection.
20:36Because there's been some pressure coming off of that right side with Amarius Mims on the sideline.
20:44Where now Marlon Humphrey is down on the field.
20:47We've already seen Teddy Buchanan, their highly touted rookie linebacker,
20:52carted off the field early in this game in the first half.
20:56And now Marlon Humphrey has been such a huge player for this defense over the years.
21:02And I don't believe Awuzie, he also left the game.
21:06I don't believe that he is back.
21:08Aditi just telling us a couple minutes ago, Awuzie has been downgraded to out.
21:11And so these athletic trainers have been busy onto the field now,
21:17tending to Marlon Humphrey.
21:19Full step aside.
21:24Marlon Humphrey able to come off the field in his own power.
21:27Try to get an update on him quickly.
21:30As Joe Burrow and company working first and 10,
21:32we hit the 11-minute mark now left in regulation.
21:34As they try to work quickly here down three scores.
21:39Burrow, boy, hit on the release.
21:41Somehow gets it out to Brown just in the nick of time.
21:44And it's Chase Brown getting it down close to the 25 of the Ravens.
21:47Wiggins and Hamilton able to combine in the tackle.
21:50He picks up three.
21:51Yeah, it's coming off of that right side.
21:53It's been the last three snaps that Burrow has taken with the Marlon Humphrey on the sideline.
22:01And there's been steady pressure coming off of that right side.
22:05And you can't really ask Burrow to get the ball out of his hands any more quickly than he did on that play.
22:11Burrow on second and six with a bit low.
22:19It's complete as Tanner Hudson is starting to get a little busy.
22:24And on second and six, they pick up nine.
22:26First down, Bengals.
22:28Yeah, on that last play, they moved Jamar Chase over to that right side,
22:32lined up against TJ Tampa.
22:35So you've got Nate Wiggins who was playing to the offense's left.
22:38And now you've got Tampa who was playing to the offense's right
22:42with Jamar Chase lined up inside the numbers.
22:45So I would advise the Ravens to make sure you shade your safety to that side.
22:50Can they adjust Burrow working quickly over the middle?
22:54Gets it to Chase Brown.
22:55There's a penalty flag thrown towards the far sideline.
23:01And what's the call here from Brad Allen?
23:04It's a pickup of eight.
23:08Offside.
23:18Defense number 41 was in the neutral zone at the snap.
23:22The penalty has declined, and it brings up second down.
23:26So they will decline the penalty after their pass completion.
23:29Meantime, busy day.
23:31NFL Today update.
23:32Adam Schein.
23:32Spiro, Arch, after the Bills finally took the lead.
23:36Take a look at this.
23:37Travion Henderson, are you kidding me?
23:41Ensuing drive.
23:42First play.
23:4365 yards to the house.
23:45Back to you.
23:45Well, what a crazy game.
23:49That stretch between those two fighting for the AFC East.
23:52Brown taking on all comers.
23:56And did he get it with that second push?
23:59Blind the game.
24:00The Ravens eight.
24:02See where the officials mark it.
24:04And now they say first down Bengals.
24:05So Cincinnati, they've had it three times inside the Baltimore 35.
24:11This is the fourth.
24:13And Arch, they're still looking for their first points.
24:16Well, and that's what they, that's a full strength Baltimore secondary.
24:20Now you're down your top two, or your two of your three corners in that secondary,
24:25and your linebacker in Buchanan.
24:27And so right now, Burrow in this offense has to take advantage of all those substitutions.
24:34Ravens rush for Burrow.
24:35Completes over the middle.
24:36This is Chase.
24:39And Jamar Chase hits the century mark.
24:42100th catch on this season.
24:44Third straight year.
24:47And this is remarkable career continues.
24:49He began the day third in the NFL in catches.
24:53Remember the Triple Crown winner last season.
24:55Second in gold.
24:57I would put him in the pretty good category of guys I would not want to cover for 500, Alex.
25:07Can he and Burrow find some late game magic against the Ravens defense that's been so good?
25:13We hit the eight-minute mark left.
25:15Pressure's turn coming off the clock for Cincinnati.
25:18And now the official's going to whistle that play dead.
25:23First in the snap.
25:24Well start.
25:25Offense number 75.
25:27That's Orlando Brown.
25:30By the way, DeeDee telling us Marlon Humphrey dealing with a knee injury.
25:34His return was questionable.
25:36And now Humphrey is actually back onto the field for the Ravens.
25:41So they looked at that knee quickly.
25:43Another look here at the penalty.
25:44A little premature was Brown.
25:46Here's Marlon Humphrey.
25:51Good to see back onto the field for this Ravens defense.
25:55Last week, Gasicki was a guy at tight end that really showed up for Cincinnati.
26:00He only has two targets with one catch in this one.
26:03But that's somebody you have to watch.
26:06Burrow looking right at that corner of the end zone.
26:11Incomplete.
26:11Looking for Tinsley.
26:14Boy Burrow gave him a shot.
26:15Humphrey was there for the Ravens.
26:18And it's going to be third and goal.
26:22Boy, and he had it too.
26:23And just, he had it pinned up against his chest.
26:27And then right when he hits the ground, just doesn't have both hands firmly on that football.
26:34And a missed opportunity right there for Tinsley.
26:38Tinsley stepping into a bigger role today with the absence of Tee Higgins.
26:42Guy who entered the day just seven catches.
26:44Two of which have been touchdowns.
26:48Boy, did they desperately need that play right there.
26:50Third and goal.
26:50Burrow is not shy to throw it to anybody who is in one-on-one situation.
26:55Burrow again kind of stumbles.
26:57And he's intercepted.
26:59Picked off by Van Noy.
27:01Then the handoff, it's Gilman.
27:03And Gilman is going to score.
27:07As the Ravens look for the knockout punch.
27:1295 yards.
27:18It was Tavius Robinson applying the heat on Burrow.
27:23And Van Noy.
27:26And then Gilman doing the rest for Baltimore.
27:32This is such a good play.
27:35Such a good play from Kyle Van Noy.
27:38Who draws the protection to him so that he could free up.
27:42I couldn't quite tell who it was that got pressure on Burrow on that play.
27:50I think it was Tavius Robinson.
27:51Tavius Robinson.
27:52Yes.
27:52But Van Noy engages the guard to draw the protection and then drops back in that passing lane.
28:00Brilliant play from the veteran, Van Noy.
28:03That's a pick six.
28:08You don't usually see the pick.
28:10Then they hand off.
28:11Again, 13 games since their last one.
28:15And so a 16-play Cincinnati drive ends in disaster.
28:20Watch Van Noy as he engages the left guard, Fairchild.
28:24And then he can't get there fast enough to pick up Tavius Robinson.
28:30And Burrow doesn't realize that Van Noy, after he engages in that block,
28:36drops back into that passing window, tries to dump it off.
28:39And he is right there.
28:41And Gilman finishing off.
28:43But I think it's been a great day playing safety.
28:46Takes the handoff and goes the distance.
28:48And boy, were they singing Alohi Gilman's praises.
28:51The addition that he's been.
28:53Some of the stuff he's taken off the plate of a guy named Kyle Hamilton.
28:58In the meantime, Kyle Van Noy.
28:59What a play for this Ravens defense.
29:02So remarkably, the Bengals, again, we saw that last graphic.
29:05Fourth different time they've had the ball inside of the Ravens, 35.
29:10And they've come away without any points.
29:12It's just amazing work by this Baltimore defense.
29:15This is a great day.
29:16I mean, this defense, in all phases, all levels, up front,
29:21second-level linebackers, safeties, corners,
29:24they've been all over this offense.
29:26They have not allowed Burrow to really do anything downfield.
29:30And this pass rush that's been criticized quite a bit this season
29:33has come to life against Cincinnati.
29:37Brooks is going to play it inside the 10.
29:39Badly across the field, and he's going to be chopped down just shy of the 30.
29:46Good special teams tackled by Trenton Simpson.
29:51All the fun just getting started.
29:53Coming up next, game two of our NFL on CBS doubleheader.
29:56It'll feature a couple of inter-conference showdowns.
29:58Jordan Love and the Packers, Bo Nix, and the Broncos.
30:01How about the Colts and the Seahawks?
30:05The old warhorse coming back, Phillip Rivers.
30:09A bunch of young guys and then the old guy.
30:12As that remarkable story about to unfold for Indianapolis.
30:15Look, I think the Green Bay, Denver, I think that's going to be a great game.
30:18But I have got to watch.
30:20I've got to put it on and see what Phillip Rivers does against that defense in Seattle.
30:26How old are you again?
30:2848.
30:29I mean, can you imagine?
30:31What a remarkable athletic feat.
30:33Meantime Joe Burrow-Arch, we just started to talk about it.
30:36You know, yes, he's had the injuries.
30:38You know, can he keep himself physically healthy moving forward?
30:42But, you know, you've got a guy of this caliber in the prime of his career.
30:47Cincinnati, very likely here, is going to be mathematically eliminated from playoff contention.
30:53There's a frustration.
30:56This continues to mount for Burrow in this Cincinnati organization.
31:00Well, as good as he's played, you know, last week, you know, he doesn't have many multi-interception games.
31:12And you thought maybe last week was an aberration.
31:14Today, again, two interceptions in this one.
31:17As good as he is and at the top of his game that he is, he just hasn't had any answers to this defense.
31:25They have been one step ahead of him all day long and have put together a brilliant game on that side of the ball.
31:33Chase Brown is going to run for the first down.
31:36As we go downstairs here to Hedini.
31:38Spiro, we had such an interesting conversation with Joe Burrow about his input
31:43and how confident he feels talking to the front office in ownership.
31:47He said, I feel like my voice is heard and my input is taken into consideration.
31:52But he also said, do I want to be the scout that vets players?
31:55No, absolutely not.
31:58He certainly has strong opinions, he said, about players on this team
32:01and about players around the league that he thinks can help this team.
32:05But he reiterated to us, he's not looking to be the general manager of the Cincinnati Bengals.
32:10Yeah, it's going to be the third straight here, Dede, that they're going to miss the playoffs here, it looks like.
32:15He's looking to hand off here.
32:22And pick up some yardage on second down.
32:25But again, a guy of his caliber in the prime years of his career, missing the playoffs for a third straight year.
32:32You know, the defensive woes that they have, Arch, it's just frustrating, certainly for this fan base.
32:36Well, that's part of it.
32:38Certainly the injuries are something that have taken a toll.
32:41And it has been a big reason why that he has been down a little bit
32:45and that they haven't been to the playoffs and that they haven't been able to accomplish their goals.
32:49So, you know, being able to stay healthy and be available is one part of it.
32:54And the other part is also the entire team.
32:56The defense, really, the last three seasons hasn't been able to live up to their end of the bargain.
33:02And so, you know, there's a lot of pieces that go into it, but it seems counterintuitive
33:09that you have a quarterback of this caliber that doesn't find himself in the playoffs
33:16and in AFC championships and in Super Bowls year after year.
33:20Remember, they had that magical run to the AFC championship game, 22.
33:23Boy, you thought this was an ascending team.
33:26But then the next year, Burrow, that wrist injury that cost him a chunk of that next season,
33:32you know, they basically just haven't been able to put it together since.
33:36One of a number of significant injuries that Burrow has sustained here over the last couple of years.
33:43And off here, so good news that Samanjay Pirine was able to come back into the game
33:48after he had to be helped off the field.
33:50And it will be fourth and three.
33:55And not to mention, it would certainly help if you're able to get the three highest paid guys
33:59on your offense, Burrow, Chase, and Higgins, on the field at the same time,
34:03more than 30% of the time because that certainly is a big part of it.
34:08But there's a lot of holes and a lot of things that have to be fixed here in Cincinnati
34:12for them to get back to playing in Super Bowls.
34:19So clock running down to the final four minutes.
34:22And the Ravens, business, Lake, knew they had to get here, get a win,
34:27as Chase makes the catch here to keep the Cincinnati drive alive in front of Nate Wiggins.
34:34And it's going to be a first down Cincinnati, a pickup of 12.
34:36Well, he's gotten his catches and he's gotten his yards,
34:39but this secondary really hasn't been able to, you know,
34:43allow him to make those big plays down the field.
34:46They have been great tacklers today.
34:47They've eliminated almost all yards after the catch.
34:50He had one big catch that went for 34 yards.
34:54But outside of that, they haven't allowed this offense to make any big,
34:58game-changing, explosive plays down the field.
35:02Minimal pickup here by Pirine Aditi.
35:04Spiro, you and Arch are discussing how we expect Joe Burrow to be in AFC Championship games.
35:11But it's interesting.
35:12He said to us yesterday, he acknowledges that he hasn't been available two of the last three years.
35:18And he said, if I'm not out there, I can't necessarily complain.
35:21And that goes back to what we talked about at the top, adopting additional play styles.
35:26Because he said, I've got to find a way to stay on the field.
35:30You know, what makes this extra frustrating, Burrow said, look, it's the best offensive line I've had,
35:36best running game we've had with the potential with Chase Brown turning the corner.
35:40But unfortunately, it just hasn't translated to success with Burrow missing most of the season with a toe injury.
35:50And you see their record, what they've done since 2020, in the years that Burrow has been healthy.
35:57Just a much different story for the Cincinnati team.
36:00Which makes it even more crazy that they didn't make the playoffs last year.
36:09With that frantic push, Burrow was just amazing, but just didn't have enough in the end.
36:16His sample makes the catch.
36:18Working there against Roquan Smith, who makes the tackle.
36:21So that margin for error for Baltimore coming here after the loss against the Steelers last week, Arch.
36:30How would they put themselves together after such a crushing loss?
36:35A game in which they felt like they did enough to win.
36:37And boy, did they answer the bell today on the road and in the cold here in Cincinnati.
36:42Well, they physically dominated last week in a lot of ways.
36:44And, you know, there was a lot of other things that happened in that game that contributed to them losing, you know, some questionable calls in that game.
36:54But I love how they've responded.
36:56And John Harbaugh really thought that they would respond well.
36:58And so did his defensive coordinator, Zach Gore.
37:01They really felt like they were ready to play and make this push in December.
37:05And, boy, they have played well.
37:06So they stop them on fourth down.
37:09It looks like at first glance.
37:11And now they officially say Ravens football.
37:20And that will officially turn out the lights on the Cincinnati Bengals.
37:26Zachary Orr, ball smiles down on that Raven sidelines.
37:31And what a performance by him in that defense.
37:33Reminded to stay tuned.

37:59So Lamar's day officially done at 8 of 12 for $1.50.
38:05A couple of touchdown passes.
38:08And that one pick, the only blemish.
38:11Keaton Mitchell crosses the 30, gets clipped to the 31-yard line.
38:18That will take us down to the two-minute warning.
38:20All Ravens pitching a set-out here in Cincinnati.
38:28The NFL on CBS is sponsored by DirecTV.

38:52If you're a Ravens fan, Ravens fan as they get one here in Cincinnati.
38:5624-0, final buck 57.
38:58Pitch play here to Mitchell.
39:00He breaks one.
39:01Inside Bengals territory, so the Ravens not quite finished just yet.
39:08A pickup of 23.
39:09NFL Today update, Mr. Shine.
39:11Spiro, Arch, James Cook now has three touchdowns.
39:15And the Bills retake the lead.
39:1835-31.
39:19Buffalo's fourth touchdown in the second half.
39:21Five minutes to go.
39:22Back to you.
39:24Man, what a wild game.
39:25As those two continue to throw punches.
39:28Another look at the wild card playoff picture in the AFC.
39:32With Buffalo hot on L.A.'s heels.
39:37So, first and ten.
39:38Lamar Jackson's day is done.
39:40Tyler Huntley on in relief.
39:43And now touchdown formation.
39:45Another reminder.
39:47NFL Today update delivered by Little Caesars.
39:49Time permitting is next.
39:51All the scores and highlights.
39:52Arch, give us a final word on Lamar Jackson's performance today.
39:56Well, listen.
39:57He didn't have to do a lot.
39:58He only attempted 12 passes.
40:00But he completed eight of them.
40:02Made some big passes.
40:03Had the interception.
40:04But that wasn't on him.
40:05That was on the drop by Zay Flowers.
40:07And probably the good news in this, he did take a couple sacks.
40:11But it wasn't a high-volume day on his body.
40:13So, he gets a chance here.
40:15Very efficient day on the ground.
40:17On the day that he had to have, gets a chance to rest up and continue to get better and better as December goes along.
40:24One more knee for Huntley as we will give the Ravens the win.
40:32This will get him to 7-7 as they keep their sights set on the Steelers.
40:36And that top spot in the AFC North.
40:40Steelers will be in action tomorrow night against Miami.
40:44What a game.
40:45What significance now in that game tomorrow.
40:48Of course, no T.J. Watt for the Steelers.
40:50And that just adds to the intrigue now between those two teams atop the North.
40:55And listen, Miami, they're playing some good football.
40:59We saw them last week.
41:00And the question is, can they continue to play at a high level?
41:03Because they're trying to make a run here and try to make something happen to sneak into the playoffs.
41:07We will get you to bonus coverage here in seconds as we will take you to Foxboro.
41:14So, John Harbaugh and the Ravens staying alive and then some in the chase for the division as they win it 24-0.

41:28Now bonus coverage as we get you to I.M. Eagle and J.J. Watt in Foxboro.
