00:00Now, tell me a little bit about where you're getting your inspiration these days for your comedy.
00:04Oh, my goodness.
00:05I feel like just observing people in the world.
00:07I mean, if you go outside and you go on a walk, you will see so many things.
00:11So, like, I encourage everyone to get outside for their mental health.
00:14But, like, if you need creative juices to flow, like, get outdoors.
00:18You'll see some stuff.
00:19Head up from your iPhone, too.
00:22Head up from your iPhone.
00:23That's always good.
00:24I want a landline now.
00:26I was thinking about landlizing.
00:26I'm not even – I'm going to get rid of my phone and get a landline.
00:30Everyone has to call.
00:31Hey, Lauren.
00:32Please call my landline.
00:33Yes, yes, a landline.
00:34I'm like, we're not – texting is about to be over for me.
00:38But, yes.
00:38Done.
00:39Oh, I love it.
00:40Well, tell me about hosting this event today.
00:42I mean, incredible women out here.
00:44What did you do to prepare?
00:46My goodness.
00:46I was just looking at the list of honorees, and I was like, yeah, this is a tall order and a lot of pressure.
00:55But I felt inspired by them.
00:57And so that helped.
00:58As soon as I sat down to my little laptop to try to write my remarks, it all started to flow.
01:03And I was like, that's really special.
01:04Like, the women pulling creative juices out of me and words of wisdom, I think.
01:09I don't know if I'm saying anything wise today.
01:11I want to recant that.
01:13Well, I'll let you guys be the judge of that.
01:15But, anyway, just seeing that list of honorees, I was like, this is such an amazing honor.
01:20And so I was like, I've got to bring them my best.
01:22So, hopefully I brought them at least my good.
01:26Oh, yeah.
01:26I'm sure you're going to crush it.
01:27But I'm sure it's going to be your best.
01:29Are you bringing the funny, too?
01:30Or is it very, like – are you trying to just –
01:33I got – there's some earnest – there are some earnest parts of my remarks today.
01:37But there are some jokes in there that I have not done for anyone.
01:40So, this is going to be my test audience, which is very risky.
01:44It's like, sorry, comedy strip.
01:45I'm actually doing it at Power Up.
01:46Yeah, yeah, exactly.
01:48I'm like, this is – they're either going to love these jokes or freaking hate them.
01:51And we're going to find out together.
01:53But a comedian just goes, take risks, and we'll see.
01:57We'll see what happens.
01:57I like it.
01:58Is there anybody in particular that you really look to for inspiration or you look to throughout your career?
02:03Oh, my goodness.
02:04All the women who were on SNL before me.
02:08Absolutely inspiring.
02:09Especially now that I'm there and I get to see what that process is like and all the challenges it entails.
02:14I'm like, oh, my goodness.
02:15Those women were absolute powerhouses.
02:17And so, like, to come after them is surreal.
02:21So, I'm constantly looking to them and looking at their work and being, like, inspired.
02:25I mean, I just – I would say them.
02:27And also, my current castmates are so incredible.
02:30Some of my closest friends.
02:32And, like, I feel inspired by them all the time.
02:34Their push, their drive.
02:35Our job can be so tough at times.
02:37But to see them, like, rally and push through is just, like, a reminder to me to do the same.
02:42And that someone might, might be inspired by me.
02:45Yes.
02:46Maybe.
02:46Yes.
02:47Yeah.
02:47Is there any guests that you're really hoping to have on the show?
02:52I mean, goodness, that's a tough question.
02:55There are, but they're not women, so I don't want to say.
02:58Okay.
02:59That's fine.
02:59You're like –
03:00I do want women on the show.
03:00I have, like, my, like, stock answer in my head for that question, and they're not women.
03:06But I'm going to get some –
03:06But we've got to get some.
03:07There are women on the show, and I haven't thought about it.
03:09I just – no one's asked me in a way that I'm, like, I have to say more than one person.
03:13Right.
03:13I've only had to say two people, and they're not women.
03:16I'm not going to say them.
03:17So, we're not going to say them.
03:17Beyonce should come, though.
03:18Oh, Beyonce should definitely –
03:20She should absolutely come host.
03:22Queen B, if I may make a petition.
03:26Mere peasant.
03:26We would love to have you host.
03:29I haven't talked to Lauren about this, but I bet he would also love to have her.
03:32Heard it here first.
03:33Yeah.
03:33I like it.
