00:00Hello there, welcome to your latest Met Office forecast. It remains very wet across northern
00:06and western parts of the UK over the next 24, 36 hours or so, and that's because we
00:11have an atmospheric river of rain pushing in across the UK as we move through the rest
00:16of the weekend. It's the beginning of next week where rain just continues to feed in
00:20from the Atlantic. Rainfall totals really building up, particularly across western high
00:25ground areas. Northwest England we could see over 200 millimetres of rain. Southwestern
00:31parts of Scotland similar amounts, so we do have amber warnings in force here through Sunday
00:36and into Monday as well as more wider yellow rain warnings across northern and western areas.
00:42So it is worth staying up to date with the warnings on our website and on our app. Through Saturday
00:48evening we can see heavy rain across Northern Ireland, Northern England, much of Scotland
00:53and that continues to stay in place as we head into the early hours, just sinking a little
00:58further southwards in two parts of Wales, perhaps northern parts of the Midlands as well. The
01:03rain will break up at times. There will be some clearer spells across Northern Scotland here
01:08and also central, southern and southeastern parts of England will generally stay dry with
01:13some clear spells. Wind is generally a little lighter here, so some mist and fog patches forming
01:18but remaining windy elsewhere and that will keep temperatures up generally eight or nine Celsius,
01:23but any clear spells, particularly towards the southeast, we could see temperatures falling
01:27to mid-single figures. So a chilly start here, but a brighter start. Any fog patches slow to clear
01:32as well, but the rain is the focus. Again, Northern Ireland, Northern England, central, southern Scotland,
01:38the rain will be particularly heavy. There's likely to be disruption through the day on Sunday,
01:43some flooding in places as well. The rain's stretching across much of Scotland, though
01:48parts of Aberdeenshire could stay dry with some brighter spells, a bit of a fern effect here.
01:53Central southern parts of England, cloudier than Saturday, but it should generally stay dry. Some
01:58bright spells developing at times, but breezy with the winds coming in from the south. Temperatures
02:03generally in double figures, 11, 12, 13 Celsius, so mild for the time of year. But with the strength of the wind,
02:10the cloud and outbreaks of rain, it will feel cooler than the numbers suggest. As we head through Sunday
02:17evening and overnight, the rain just starts to push a little bit further southeastward, so it becomes
02:23drier across parts of Northern Ireland and Scotland, with a few showers moving in. The main focus of the
02:29heavy rain will be still across northwestern parts of England into Wales and also some western parts of
02:36southwest England as well. Met Office warnings remaining in force right through into Monday. Again,
02:42dry in the southeast, but generally cloudy. Temperatures under the cloud and rain holding up 9, 10 Celsius,
02:49either side of this falling to mid single figures. So looking at the picture on Monday, heavy rain continues
02:57to stay in place across parts of southwest England into Wales, northern parts of the Midlands,
03:02northern England. A little uncertainty with the movement of this rain. It could push a little
03:07further north at times, a little further south, but generally either side of it, a dry day. So
03:12southeast England, again, East Anglia, London, down into Kent. Largely cloudy, but very little rain here.
03:19A respite in the weather for Northern Ireland. Much of Scotland. Sunny spells at times, but blustery
03:24showers still across the highlands and islands. Rainfall warnings still remaining out through Monday.
03:31Flooding's still a likely scenario across parts of the west. Temperatures reaching around 12 or 13
03:39Celsius across southern England, staying in single figures across Northern Ireland and Scotland.
