Transcript
00:00Hello there.
00:01A very wet few days to come, particularly across the north-west of the UK as weather
00:06systems move in from the Atlantic Met Office yellow and amber rainfall warnings out through
00:12the weekend and into the beginning of next week to low-pressure systems driving in heavy
00:16rain, particularly over the hills, 100-200 millimetres of rain falling in places.
00:22So do stay tuned to the forecast if you are travelling over the next few days as there
00:26is likely to be some flooding and some disruption.
00:30A wet picture for Saturday afternoon across parts of Northern Ireland and much of Scotland,
00:34the rain heavy over the hills accompanied by some very strong winds as well.
00:39We could see gales around the hills and coasts as we move through the day.
00:44A drier picture for much of England and Wales Saturday afternoon.
00:48Sunshine holding on across the south-east after a cold start this morning.
00:52Mist and fog patches were slow to clear.
00:54Temperatures a little chillier than of late, around 8 to 11 Celsius, perhaps locally 12
00:59in the far south-west.
01:01So wind is light in the south-east here, further north-west.
01:04Temperatures starting to rise, 11, 12 Celsius, but feeling cooler with the cloud and rain.
01:10As we move through into the evening time, the rain just continues to move in from the Atlantic,
01:15turning increasingly heavy.
01:17Amber warnings coming out.
01:18We could see some disruption across parts of Scotland into north-west England as well,
01:23particularly over the higher ground.
01:25High river levels and also saturated ground likely to see flooding.
01:30Some heavy rain also for parts of Northern Ireland.
01:32A little drier interlude for Northern Scotland.
01:34And again, central, southern parts of England holding on to drier and clearer spells overnight
01:40with some mist and fog patches forming.
01:42Temperatures here falling into low single figures, so less of a chance of frost,
01:46but still a chilly start to Sunday morning here.
01:49Elsewhere, temperatures up 8, 9 Celsius with the wind and rain.
01:53So a very wet start across the north and the west of the UK on Sunday morning.
01:58Mornings remain out and they are likely to be updated over the next few days,
02:02so it is worth staying up to date with these through our website and our app.
02:06But flooding likely, heavy rain, tricky travelling conditions,
02:10dangerous travelling conditions in places, so do stay tuned.
02:14Again, England and Wales as we go through Sunday.
02:17A cloudier picture, but generally dry for central, southern areas here.
02:21Windy day for everyone and the wind's coming in from the south,
02:23so temperatures are a little higher.
02:2511, 12, 13 Celsius, so above where they should be for the time of year,
02:29but feeling cooler with the wind and rain.
02:32And that rain just continues through the rest of Sunday evening as well,
02:36pushing a little further south and eastwards.
02:38Yellow warnings then coming into force across parts of Wales,
02:41as the band of rain pushes a little further south-eastwards.
02:45Again, south-east England holding on to some dry weather to end Sunday.
02:48But into the beginning of next week, that rain just slowly pushes its way south-eastwards.
02:54So there's a lot going on with the weather for the weekend into the beginning of next week.
02:58Heavy rain leading to disruption.
03:00So do stay tuned to the forecast.
03:02See you again soon.
