05:25Carter, this is our large driveway matrix.
05:28This is unbelievable, I've never seen one like it before and I've seen a ton!
05:33ton this has 5400 pixels on it wow and it takes almost two months to really put together i'm so
05:41curious just seeing like you know two by four framing that you have but these lights right here
05:47what are you using to hold them nice and tight that's called aircraft cable and that allows me
05:52to stretch the cable really taut and allows the pixels to stay flat and even what is the width of
05:58this at 16 feet and then you have 44 feet uh the spacing in between is they're eight and a half
06:04inches to really get the image flat preciseness really has to be exact here because if you don't
06:11it just won't look correct one thing you'll notice carter is that there's over 2 000 zip ties on here
06:16that is a lot of zip ties so carter right over here on the end little turnbuckles each one has
06:23a different tension we have all of our turnbuckles connected on this side so it allows all of our
06:29wires on the other side they go back to my pixel controller that's hidden under the christmas
06:34present yep and then this archway i mean we really love these driveway arches and they synchronize to
06:39the music this kind of frames it beautifully as you kind of look down the driveway essentially just
06:44conduit i'm assuming electrical conduit you're right what about the stakes in the ground they
06:48do go down about four feet had to have the gas company come out mark where my gas lines go because
06:55we don't want to do that no hazards at this house looking at all of these different items you guys
07:05intermingled old traditional with all of the dancing lights and that's not easy to do either i tend to
07:11think that pixels only is a little bit not inviting it's not as soft so i wanted to make sure that we
07:17incorporated some of the vintage or old-fashioned components to it i mean even looking at stuff
07:23like this this is a homemade cupcake can i pick one up yeah go for it it's really heavy be careful yeah
07:28i don't i have no idea how did you make this that is insulation foam with this ping pong ball so
07:34delicious looking we also use it to hide our speakers oh right up here that is so cool no one
07:41wants to see an eyesore of a speaker so we want to make sure it's inviting and cute like a cupcake
07:49look at santa he's coming on the gym we're gonna take a step into here you don't let everybody just
07:55come into this area do you we're gonna be taking a look at something that's really special to my family
08:01and i and it's these wood cutouts these are so fun so these were the very first things that we had
08:08this and one strand of lights on the house they're kind of old school but they work with your display
08:13exactly can we talk about the roof a little bit it looks amazing yeah my daughter and i spent our time
08:18in july really going up on that roof yeah i clipped the clips onto the bulbs and he put them in the
08:24tiles individually yes this is kind of my backdrop to the light show so we had to tone it way down
08:30right now they're at one percent they get brighter they get way brighter really we're going to turn
08:34them on to their full brightness ready here we go whoa oh my gosh it's shocking the difference i think
08:44i'm getting a suntan right now this is amazing
08:50look at the top of the tree this is the geekiest highest mega tree that we could actually get on this
08:56lawn it's about 29 feet there's around 4 800 pixels wow we have a thousand pound winch secured to the
09:03house anchors that go down about four feet structurally this looks amazing it's fort knox
09:10these are dc volt power supplies this is what powers my pixel controllers i actually have 22 pixel
09:17controllers whoa some are on the roof some are under the eaves some are in the driveway you have so much
09:23passion about this i want i can tell you yeah you do love it
09:33all right so carter we got to come right over here so let me remove the cookie real quick
09:37all right no just joking it's not that heavy not that heavy it's out of cyrofoam cord keeping them
09:42organized are really important to me so i had to run a power cord down here all the way through the
09:48drain kind of do a little zigzag and it goes straight across my roof line you have power
09:54cords in your gutters i didn't want to trip hazard across my driveway that is genius if you look right
10:00here i have about 8 000 thumbtacks to hold the lights you use those for all your lights in the
10:06house hurt your thumbs i'll tell you that i'm sure half a day your thumbs hurting like heck yeah you
10:11gotta take a break gotta take a break we hold chocolate in here oh what's up guys we're gonna

10:28door you gotta make sure you're elf sized to get in there okay i have to shrink down like this okay

10:54this is so cool i love santa's workshop i love the fireplace the wreath the lights that are strung up across

11:16me a high five nice my favorite part of this would be this little village that we have love those little
11:22pieces are my grandparents and it's great what's on the other side of that our kitchen okay there is
11:27so much going on in this little space we have a little hot chocolate and cookies for you oh look at
11:33this this is the coolest place ever i never want to go anywhere else stay right here
11:40oh that is perfect should i have a cookie too yeah we made them oh come on now i don't want to leave
11:47this room i really just want to stay right here i guess so i'll come back the peluso family had an
11:54incredible display i love the blend of the high-tech and traditional when it's done this well it looks
12:00perfect you guys that was so much fun i was so impressed just on the matrix alone on the driveway
12:07that's something i've never seen before i love seeing all the lights on the roof and how precise
12:12they are the mix and match from the new to the old the blow molds and then mixing that with all of the
12:18dancing lights that are around that's not easy aaron works on it every single day this is definitely his
12:25dream his vision and he does it all to bring joy to others you guys go above and beyond on so many
12:31levels and that's why i love senior display i have some other places i gotta go to so i'm gonna give

12:59express next stop christmas all right i'm gonna have to solder that i've been decorating for
13:06christmas since i was a teenager my grandfather had a set of trains underneath of the tree and it
13:11would go round and round and i got really involved with it and then he left me his train okay that
13:16went on real nice and i kept doing them and still are doing them to this day and i just love playing
13:20with them this is the train garden has seven different trains running at one time there's an elevated
13:26train here that goes along he's always working on the trains but the trains is like all year round
13:32kind of thing the display is set up within an acre of land so that's a lot besides making sure
13:40everything's placed exactly where i need it to be i bury all the wires carter won't see any wires anywhere
13:46okay we're good
13:51and the leaves trying to take care of the leaves during the light display it is a real challenge
13:56we call it leaf wars this christmas display isn't one that you can drive around you have to walk
14:04around the property look at all the decorations watch the trains it just lifts everybody's christmas

14:38hi guys how are you hi i love the conductor outfit you got going on right now and the elves
14:44tell me a little bit about your display our theme is uh trains oh very cool we do this for the whole
14:49community we have such a blast how long have you done it for i've been here doing it for 30 years some of
14:54the things that i have here are over 50 years old holy smoke you know for a long time yeah that's
15:01really impressive you guys ready to see it yes carter we have this train back here there's a switch
15:08here for you to hit this is so cool wow there we go i love wearing hats but i do have a big head so
15:16yeah it doesn't fit me but that's okay we'll just put it right on the top there all right well how do we
15:21get this started we're gonna say three two one all aboard are you guys ready all right here we go

15:45the whole display is one acre big holy
15:59you have the house decorated the roof is decorated you can see all the trains in the front yard and wow

16:08wow this is incredible i mean you have the perfect space for it
16:15i'm ready to get into it okay i'll put that on you all right you guys want to check it out

16:29this is a great perspective to see the entire display which i love it's on a nice hill here
16:44it's a bit of a challenge setting it up on the hill i can imagine the perspective is so cool here
16:49because it's like an amphitheater okay you feel like the seating is all here your house is the stage
16:54but i'm sure as you walk down you get a different perspective you get the feel of it you're in it
17:03wow is that santa yeah is that santa did you notice do you see any wires i don't see any
17:09wire there are no wires to be always impressed when i can hop over here i don't see any wires where you
17:15put them all they're all buried under the ground i take a claw hammer and dig a trench and i put the
17:21wires in there and cover it back up so let me get this straight so you take the back side of a
17:27hammer that's used to pull out nails correct and you just dig a little trench correct
17:31my man i do the same thing do you that's great i knew we're similar
17:42i like the one on the christmas
17:43now look at all of these trains i love the elevated train i don't think i've seen one ever
17:51took me a whole summer to elevate that track it's all pressure treated one by sixes on top a half
17:56inch rebar that i tried to make it as level as i could it's funny you called it the elevated train
18:01because that's its name it's the elevated train
18:13carter i want to show you in here this is a special thing just follow me
18:17yeah it's kind of neat to be in the middle of it i have very large feet oh my gosh i feel like you're
18:21right in the middle of it whoa whoa hey buddy how you doing you're like the only person i've ever
18:29allowed in here this is the military train okay it's all military and this one that's track one
18:35and it's a lot of maintenance stuff to take care of i see that but i love these trains i mean there's
18:39just so many lights on all of them i've had to put every light in there i take them in set them on a
18:44workbench and i start adding these little leds to them for me to build one helicopter there took me 14
18:49hours you know that's just for one that's crazy the leds are so tiny you can almost not see them and
18:55he put out all this you are devoted to your train track all these little scenes and the guy buying
19:01a newspaper there wow this is so cool i love it like the ferris wheel you have like a little town
19:06and you watch the little guy in the middle the snow cones turn and stuff of course how long does
19:11it take to lay something out like this years because i just kept building onto it yeah one of
19:15the main reasons i got into it was the kids that come here they noticed the detail
19:20carter come on over here i'll show you such a different world over here the landscaping is just
19:29gorgeous oh thank you i collected these rocks from this property to be able to build the uh waterfall
19:35and the pond some people think it's a natural stream it's really not there's two pumps down in here
19:40that's incredible so what'd you build this out of is three quarters pressure treated two by sixes
19:46next week oh it is sometimes i need to walk on that and why do you have the plexi well my theory
19:50was case a train fell off it wouldn't fall into the water so i ended up putting it all the way around
19:55even the light i didn't even see those lights right there i needed lights on here because it was a
20:00little dark over here so i got these aluminum slots and then cut them in half because they look like real
20:05lights that you would see like on a street hi guys i mean that's so cool it brings back the kid inside of
20:13anybody carter if you think this is something we need to go out back and let me show you what's
20:18back there it's fantastic all right let's go come on let's go carter i have a surprise for you okay
20:26we have a very unique way of showing off their display okay and i hope you're not afraid of heights
20:34you want me to get on that that's our christmas cable swing wow how high is that 60 feet that looks so
20:42scary is this for real yes now i'm getting a little nervous up them steps there i don't know
20:48what this has to do with christmas but i am all for it guys put this up underneath of you okay back
20:54up into it here goes nothing you guys ready ready yeah give me a countdown guys ready three two one go
21:03wow oh my goodness i felt like i could see the entire town i got so high that is hot that is
21:26really high a little bird's eye view it was perfect this display had so many twists and turns
21:40and i'm not just talking about the train tracks and chuck does it out of the goodness of his own heart
21:44i really see why this family pulls out all the stops to make this happen that was so much fun i had
21:51a blast i mean you put me on a swing of course i'm gonna love it one of the coolest things about
21:55your display there's just so many trains moving around you've created all the scenes and also the
22:01landscaping too some of the kids that sit there they stay there until the parents have to carry them
22:05off screaming i want to stay that's a labor of love it's his passion you can see how much love he puts
22:12into all of it right it shows and that's why i think people keep coming back oh it's such a treat you
22:18guys i had such a blast being here i had so much fun i'm going to just give you a big hug all right

22:35we're the jimenez family and our display is more than meets the eye christmas time for us is an
22:52important holiday we come from really traditional families where there's a lot of traditions
22:59help i got stuck you just made it worse we've been decorating for about 11 years now it started
23:11out pretty simple and pretty basic and added to it every year it really sort of like transitioned
23:15into an interactive walkthrough experience we're gonna be setting up our sidewalk adjacent candyland
23:22area one of the things we try and do with the biggest little christmas in phoenix as we call it
23:26is really do things that can be experienced from a kid's perspective so the kids will be able to
23:31come through and see stitch there perfect it's so full of whimsy and creativity it's a little bit
23:41of a lot of things like you can't turn around and not like see something your show is relentless relentless
23:47doing a display like this in arizona it's like rocky clay soil that's a rock so we find other
23:59ways to do things all right well this blow mold keeps blowing over because we have a really small
24:06space to work with half of our displays on our driveway so one of the things i do is we zip tie
24:11the blow molds to these grids and then set those on the ground and put rocks on the grids we still have
24:16a lot to do yeah well that doesn't look like much no this is what we've already done this is what we
24:20still need to do oh i would love to see us win the great christmas light fight because it would
24:29be a message to people that you don't have to do a christmas display like every other christmas display
