00:00Let's take a look at the other matchup in the conference.
00:03It's Texas A&M and Miami.
00:05We have Carson Beck squaring off against Marcel Reed.
00:09When you look at this matchup, Marcel Reed is a dual threat.
00:13Carson Beck, prototypical dropback passer, did have some struggles in games and losses
00:19against SMU and Louisville.
00:21When you see this matchup, Beck going on the road to Kyle Field, give me your thoughts
00:26about the quarterback aspect, Miami and A&M.
00:30You know, I think that stat, what it doesn't show is the rushing yardage of both quarterbacks.
00:35I think of Marcel Reed being a much bigger threat.
00:38When the quarterback has to do the things that win the game, his ability to run the football,
00:43to extend a play by moving around, getting out of the pocket and still throwing the football,
00:49that's where he exceeds the talent of Carson Beck.
00:52On the other hand, Carson Beck is a little bit higher percentage thrower, probably more
00:57of your prototype NFL type quarterback who can throw and dish it out.
01:01Got more experience just because the number of years he's played in big games.
01:05So it ought to be a great matchup.
01:08I just like the dual threat capabilities of Marcel Reed against good football teams.
01:14But I do think Miami has an overall team that can compete with Texas A&M.
01:19But I give Marcel Reed and Texas A&M a bit of an edge when it comes to how well the quarterback
01:24can play the game.
01:26And when you look at just the atmosphere of Kyle Field in College Station, right, that's
01:32a different animal than anything that Miami has played in in a road environment up until
01:37this point.
01:38They did go into Dallas-Fort Worth in that matchup against SMU, and they lost as a six
01:44and a half point road favorite in overtime, 26 to 20.
01:49Maybe for Carson Beck being battle tested and playing in SEC championships.
01:55But for that team as a whole to go into 110,000 plus fans with a college football title, potentially
02:02on the line in a semifinal playoff appearance, a lot of pressure on Carson Beck and the Hurricanes
02:09to potentially step up.
02:11Well, and it's the entire offense because what a great advantage it is to have a bye.
02:16And for the next four teams to have home game, they've all got great stadiums.
02:20And Texas A&M may be the best of all stadiums.
02:23And it's not so much the quarterback that has a difficult time in those stadiums.
02:26But you watch and see how many illegal procedures, how many times the offensive line can't hear
02:31the snap count, how they can't communicate well in an environment like that.
02:35That's the most difficult thing is for the offense overall, not to have two or three series
02:41where the procedure penalty or a procedure or an execution penalty affects them and costs
02:48them the football game.
02:49Let's take a look at the last matchup.
02:51Trinidad Chambliss, Jake Retzloff, Tulane and Ole Miss.
02:56How much will Chambliss miss Lane Kiffin or will Charlie Weiss have Chambliss hitting on
03:03all cylinders?
03:05You know, it's going to be amazing.
03:06I think of all the people, I think it would affect him more than others.
03:10He just seems so attached at the hip to Lane Kiffin.
03:13Their popularity, their story, the way they picked him up late where he wasn't sought after
03:19by a lot of teams.
03:20He kind of came in with this season as someone no one expected.
03:24I think Lane Kiffin made great decisions to stay with him and they've handled it so well.
03:30But again, I have to wonder what behind the scenes is happening in his mind, in his group
03:36of people that represent him as he gets pulled to the scenes.
03:39But he's had a great season.
03:40I see no reason.
03:41He seems to have handled every difficult situation so far as well.
03:45Nothing seems to be too big for this kid.
03:47And he goes in there and I think he'll be able to handle the situation pretty well.
