Slot confirms Salah has not travelled to Milan, explains there has been no detailed conversation since the comments were made, and says he does not know who Salah was referring to but insists the club must react when a player speaks publicly.
Slot stresses that being calm and polite does not mean he is weak, says Salah has every right to feel what he feels but not to share it with the media, and admits he was surprised by the timing because Salah had trained well and behaved respectfully. He adds Liverpool will reassess the situation after the Inter match and believes there is always a possibility for a player to return to the squad.
Slot reveals Federico Chiesa is ill and unlikely to travel unless he makes an unexpected recovery, while Cody Gakpo is out for a few weeks after a fresh injury picked up against Leeds. He warns Liverpool are facing a strong Inter side with big Champions League pedigree, praising their discipline, experience and quality under Cristian Chivu.
