Australia’s largest aluminium smelter to remain open after negotiations

Workers at an aluminium smelter in New South Wales have been promised job security past 2028 after the government worked with the owners to prevent its closure. The plan which is yet to be worked out will involve taxpayers subsidising the smelter's power costs.
